  • I will agree on most of this, but I would strongly suggest not using a foam pad to remove scratches. It will generate way too much heat and if your not experienced you will warp the panel. Cars aren't made they they use to be. I suggest wool pads. #1 pad which is the white pad for compounding, then the #2 pad which is yellow for polishing, and then you can use the black foam pad. If you do use the wool, use the double sided ones, the edges are mostly hidden behind the wool causing less damage

  • @loveja1 Are you just talking out of your ass? A wool pad generates much more heat and is what is needed to remove deep scratches. A foam pad creates much less heat and on top of it, leaves a much finer finish, Hell, you use a very fine foam pad with a fine polish as the last step to remove swirls.

  • @tog85 first of all have a little respect when talking to someone, don't be ignorant!. Read what I wrote again, foam pads are not good for removing scratches. I have been a professional body shop detailer for close to 20 years and wet sanded hundreds of show cars and I have won more awards for my finishes then I can count so I'm sure I know what I'm talking about. My comment stands secure.

  • Get thoes scratches uniform and if you want to take thoes scratches out you can buddy

  • i dont think all the clear coat would come out just sanding couple times... imagine what would happen if u didntt have it !

  • why would you pay to have clear coat put on only to sand it off afterwords?

  • For PERFECTION in the clear coat!!

  • so you get no orange peel

  • @akuma4u its so that you can create a mirror finish

  • I'll agree that this is informative. When it comes to doing a new or expensive car, I would just use a new pad.
