They were certainly the biggest legends in british popular music. Not only could they sing and play, but they had a habit of writing good songs that have stood the test of time. Even those that are not fans of the Beatles cannot deny their genius :)

I'm sure you are aware of the Dave Clark 5. I was a big fan of them as well, but, the Beatles just kept re-inventing themselves and blowing everybody's minds with their new stuff. The Dave Clark 5 seemed to remain...the same. It's hard to imagine that the Beatles made all of those changes and wrote all those super great songs in a short 7 years. That's why I have written here on YouTube...the Beatles will only..."happen one time"...we can thank God for that "one time". I was 10 yrs. old.

I was born in 65, so I missed out on it really. I still grew up wih their music around me though, because some of my family were mad on them. Especially my aunt. There's some footage of the Beatles arriving at Heathrow airport, and some women who climbed over their car. One of those women was my Aunt. Lol :)

American Idol is really acknowledging the Beatles the last two weeks. The show makes it very clear that "no other group will ever equal...the Beatles." It's simply...unbelievable!! Of course the "true test is time." Well...they broke up in 1970...38 years later...their legend is "alive and very well." Thanks for you contribution.

I don't think I've seen either of them. There used to be a tribute band called "The Bootleg Beatles". I don't know if they are still around. The Beatles produced quite a lot of songs, and I suppose I wanted to bring forward one of their lesser known songs. It shows that there are a lot more songs of theirs out there that people might not know about :)

Jefftunes...you are right. I have found many people who are not aware of a great number of Beatle songs. When they finally hear one they go "wow...I didn't know that was a Beatle song!" In a way it's regretful that they could have enjoyed more of their tunes for all the years they "didn't know about them." If you have a chance check out the Fab Four on YT. By the way, "Across the Universe" is a fairly new movie you can rent. I'm sure you'll really like the singing of the many Beatle tunes

I first went through all the Beatles albums and made a short list of 10 songs. Then narrowed it down to just the one. Then I tried to distance myself from the original arrangement, so that I could hear something new. It took time, but it came in the end :)

Yes, covering a Beatles song is walking on dodgy ground. This was a result of a challenge by a friend of mine who is crazy about beatles music, and also loves my music too.

It was an interesting idea, and it was more challenging than I thought it would be. When I write my own songs it's quite easy. Doing a different cover is not so easy, because the original music floats around in my head, and I have to imagine it without that :)

I think that the most important thing about any song is the expression of it. To be able to get feelings across, as well as words and music.

That's something I always try to do, and enjoy doing. It's one of the reasons I enjoy singing :)

I have a book which represents over 2,000 chord positions on a guitar!

I will use root chords, and maybe hammer on and pull off strings for variation on the chords.

I think most finger combinations on the guitar are represented by some sort of chord already. I will sometimes play around with combinations. If I like the sound, I look to see if it's in my book. It always is :)

With this song I used D, A, Bm7 and E.

I've found some good vids on here. Using the name of the song I want and also the words "Guitar" and "Tuition". Sometimes you gets vids of people on here showing you how to play those songs. The last 2 I looked at were "How to save a life" by "The Fray", and "Everybody hurts" by REM". I found them really helpful :)

It was a challenge I was determined to finish. I mentioned in a previous comment. It's much easier to write fresh material, than to try and do a different cover, because the original tune gets stuck in your head :)

I have a good few friends on here, who love the Beatles.

I think I asked a question on one of your vids. It was "Do you have access to good recording facilities". I was wondering if it was possible to get your daughter's pure vocals, well recorded for perhaps an original song?

Sorry Jeff, yes we have access to studios. She has always done covers no original music yet. She will be visiting a new studio end of the month.

I could wish her the best of luck but luck is never enough. She has the talent without a doubt. I'm sure you will be pushing many doors open for her. Once she gets in front of someone that matters in the industry. You might just see their eyelids open a little bit wider. They will be impressed :)

What sort of style does she feel most comfortable performing?

She enjoys singing country, pop, ballads, and rock! As this Nashville producer said she has a special quality to her voice. She seems to be able to flip it up to any genre. She has mentioned starting guitar in addition to her vocal lessons. I am hoping to get her into a new studio when we get back from Mexico. She is needing to record at least two songs, as the producer wants to hear more of her music.

Well, that producer seems to be interested in the voice. So cover versions might be ok. I know a lot of songwriters with good home facilities. I'll have to see whether any of them have a song that would showcase her voice, or maybe even from my reasonably sized collection.

If I hear one that might do well for her then I'll run it by you, and you can see what you think :)

You may already have all that planned, but it's worth mentioning :)
