I never saw them anywhere else except for his. This man, Joe Ades, recently died. He was a NYC street legend with an interesting story. He actually did spend a good deal of his life in Australia before he came here. He got rich selling these things on the street. I bought a few and gave them away to friends and family. I have a couple for myself, too.
actually come to think of it, they arent as available as my previous comment probably implied. the only reason i knew about them is cos theyre popular in the food industry in restaurant kitchens etc, cos theyre so fast, which is why i make sure i always have one. most 'housewives' mightnt know they exist.
my current one is.... like.. whats the word.. the blade isnt flat, its jagged. so when you peel stuff it leaves the surface bumpy. good for texturing :)
I believe the word you are looking for is serrated, like a bread knife. I can see why food industry people would like them because they're fast, easy to clean, etc.
The good seller! I have a similar knife for vegetables. Very conveniently!
