KTM 380sx won dirt bike magazines 24hour reliability test in 2000. yamaha 2strokes, fuji 500, rotax 503, rotax 250/300,+++++ will beat new yamaha phazer reliability fucking easy. as far as reliability goes phazer is the worst new sled you can buy. just look at powersportsnetwork rider review of phazer. only brand with lower avg ratings than yamaha sleds are blade. If yamahas reliability was so great they would have the best rating of all. I think if they only made nytro sleds they would on top.
And no im not against 2 strokes, i run them in my boat and i have a banshee. But in everything else, dirtbikes, boats, watercrafts, quads, 4strokes have replaced 2strokes. Its going to happen in sleds as well
Yeah agreed, if you actually looked! at a ski-doo comparison the e-tec is better in every comparison (AGAINST OTHER 2 STROKES) If you look at the ski-doo 4 stroke against a yamaha they make less power, but with a much bigger displacement. And yes ski-doo is making a 4 stroke and the ceo of ski-doo himself said that Yamaha is the only manufacturer doing 4 strokes right! And that they need to get into that market

I think you don`t know shit about dirt bike. how many have you owned? my family owned 5 4storke dirt bikes and 10 2strokes. 4 of the 4storkes had there engines rebuildt. only the 2strokes from 80-125cc are rebuild more than the 4strokes. the 1986 500cc KTM 2stroke stil run with original piston. it have only suffered minor gearbox failure and one clutch change. and that is the bike with most miles on the wheels. so you do some reading!! when hp/cc are the same. realiability is about the same.
sorry gerry your wrong the new etech burns as much oil as you have to change on a 4 stroke and is FAR better on milage...check the emissions its easy to google...read my other comment to see how clean ..you could run one in your house...yamaha got left behind on their bike motors...FYI the new 4 stroke from ski doo is cleaner and more fuel efficent than yamahas and still isnt as good on fuel as their own e tech....sdi already was far better on fuel than any 4 stroke..

read up on brp e-tec. 2stroke will never die!!!!!!!! e-tec is lighter, use fuel/oil like a 4stroke, and better stock hp... 2stroke dirt bikes last longer than a 4stroke. why is that so??? a 380-500cc 2 stroke dirt bike will outlast any 4stroke dirt bike...
a two stroke WILL outlast a 4 stroke dirt bike. yes you may have to do a rebuild on the 2 stroke at the same time as replacing the valves on a 4 stroke dirt bike I know because its happened to me. 2 strokes are much much cheaper to maintain. plus any person with common sence can work on a 2 stroke

And for the 700 triple class the srx was and is an absolute miser on fuel, obviousley it's gonna eat more fuel than a 600 twin but thats to be expected.

A fourstroke will outlast a 2 stroke by far.
And its a proven fact that 4 strokes are much better on fuel. And not only do you NOT! have to mix oil but more important is a 4stroke pollutes less.
The only problem with 4 strokes is the weight.
And the manufactures have been doing a pretty good job with that so far.
But they still have about a 60lbs Disadvantage
when compared to a 2 stroke sled of the same class.

just saw the 700 srx brag lol..my formula III could run with those...and away from when broke down for gas talk about a pig on fuel..now tones ran sweet with a set of aftermarket pipes and some porting..conways 600srx was just sad...kirbs 700srx...well she was alright but liked the gas his mountain cat 2 inch paddels would smoke it though so he sold it..actualy i was the first person to race that sled for him lol...likes his apexmountain though the gas pig but he would he owned a dealership

Actually in's not a yamaha shop, it's an independent business and our opinions are based on independent thought, facts and what we know to be true from our own experience.
And for the 700 triple class the srx was and is an absolute miser on fuel, obviousley it's gonna eat more fuel than a 600 twin but thats to be expected.

you are reiterating my point you have no riding experience millage wise on other sleds you live in a yamaha camp...die hard ...the worst sort of sledder...brand loyalty is not naive its insulting to ones intelligence.....dont yip about my "lies and magazine quotes" when all you know from riding experience is tanks....the new chassies ALL BRANDS are so far removed from yours, you would think you were riding the space shuttle if you rode something different for a day...what brand kidney belt?

NO NO NO they have all came out with sleds over the years that I have liked...I used to love the old Mach Z it was A monster on the lake or a straight stretch.
And yes I have rode newer sleds too and they do have a plush ride.
A friend races SnoCross and guess what he rides a 440 ski-doo rev, probobly the best sled for that shit, but for being out on the lakes all day doin 100+ MPH nothin beats a Yammie........and ur not gonna have to be towed home.

what the fuck you doing on a srx700 talking yamaha 4 stroke milage anyway lol...your on the worst ever sled on fuel right after the polaris 600 rmk....figured you were talking out your ass or out of a yamaha add...me on the other hand,i am trying to tell people what ive seen from riding experience...show me a light 4 stroke im first in line to buy, bad millage compared to the new 2 strokes or not...google sleds per capita youll know where i live lol..try to sell me one on a millage lie....FAIL

I ride the SRX others I know ride newer 4 strokes which get excellent fuel millage compared to anything out there.
