  • Rest in peace Kazuo Okuda.

  • OMFG!!!!!!!!!! This is my solo this Sat. Although my slow part doesnt have to be that slow, but its got to sound pretty. LOL well wish me luck!!!! Imma need it. =]

  • I want that bass! It's so beautiful!

  • You look like mr. miyagi with a beard.... Very good playing

  • good job

  • Very goog!!!!!!

  • @mgandres Thanks a lot.

  • oh whoops sorry I thought it was cello, not bass :P

  • hmmm you seem to hold your bow differently, or is it just my imagination?

  • Lots of passion and vitality on expression. That's what I love about him. He is the giant of Bassissimo!

And the way he plays the Cantabile is his own. It gets into my emotion and it is so great!!

  • Thanks for nice comment.

I always try to play molto espressivo and molto bassissimo!

and try to find my own style.

    There is no end.

  • Molto bassissimo!

  • Another thing!!! Before going to the repeat of the b section, where there's that little piano 5-1 falling pattern. Take your time! That's the juiciest part. You played it so quickly. That's no fun! I played this for gary karr one time and he showed me all his silly ideas that are really effective.

  • Love your tone, bow, and intonation. REally a great performance. I am playing this on my senior recital! Few tricks that I know people do. On the third octave B natural, stretch your hand to play the B an octave below on the d string with your thumb keeping the bowing pattern of the theme. Also, go for the 4th octave on the last repeat of the theme! Doing the whole chromatic descent an octave up as well. That's what I do but not nearly as clean and amazing as you. GREAT JOB!

  • Well done!!!! I know this was written for cello (I am playing right now), but you play it much more musically than most cellists. Really really great. Maybe one day I will be as good a musician as you. haha :)

  • Kocham ten utwór <33

Ale na wiolonczeli lepiej brzmi ;)

  • German bow is really hard to play. I'm impressed. I mostly pay pizzicato because I started double bass with a German bow.

  • wow, you do a very good job switching to bass on this song! Bravo! I Learned this piece just a piece just a few weeks ago on the cello and there are so many aspects like timing and intonation that are very hard. You did a great job with it . thanks

  • oh my gooossh!!! LOL when the camera panned up to your face i was surprised by how calm you looked hahaha! you are soo amazing!!

  • hey drago..

no one can do so many movies like your mother did...

  • oh my goodness! this was aweseooome man.

very hard on bass. i play bass too.

ur gonna be famous one of these days. :)

  • i played this year!!!

for some reason, it sounds much harder for bass and your bowing arm looked awesome.

    great piece, awesome performance =]

  • I thought it was a cello at first, and i was horrified at your bow hold.= )heh, heh! and then I realized how it didn't sound like a cello at all, and then I relaxed. = )Anyway, really great job!

  • Thanks for your nice comment. Yes I'm a Double Bassist(^^)

Are you a cellist? This piece was written for orginally cello, you know? Any way good piece.

  • AAAH, Awesome, great playing. It has a very nice sound with double bass. I play this on cello and it´s very hard for me. I think about changing to double bass. Can you sayme something about pieces for double bass e.g. ?? that would be nice. Thanks, Julian( 13 years old, german)
