@JanderVK Dude that's like me saying "both movies suck, just read the book" even if I have never watched either one. But in my opinion, both movies don't capture the book very well because of them just craming everything the can from the book in to about 2 hours or leaving things out that really develope the story, like leaving Tommy out of the story completely (LMI does touch on it though).

I like the American version because it gives little hints that only if you read the book you would see.

I know the reviews were kinda mixed but I liked this alot mostly because of the writing and the gore. Haven't seen Let the Right One In but I have read the novel which was really good and way more gorey than the movie. The parts with the dad in the back of the car was really well executed and was not in the novel which to me made it better. If you want more background read the book if not who cares.

I read the book when it was translated in 2009 because I heard the movie was really good. The book is really amazing! Then I saw ITROI and I wasn't too blown away because the kid who played Oskar just annoyed me so much. Then I saw the LMI and I was amazed that I liked it as much as I did. Owen in the movie was just the way pictured in the book and Abby had more of the personality than the original. And I love how they had the father (Håkan/Richard) have a different story line.

I liked Kick ass though, and that girl was a pretty good actress so I might pick this one up just to compare it to the original Swedish film.

I own both "Let Me In" and "Let The Right One In." Both were excellently done. I normally cringe at American remakes of great foreign films, but this one did justice to the original. SEE BOTH! If you compare them you'll find that, although "LMI" tends to over-explain subtext (like ALL Amer-remakes of Euro films) It was well done. Chloe Grace Moretz is amazing.
