Oh! That sound is on every web cam! It's on my MacBook too! My dad's HP has that! My phones camera has that noise! I don't know why it makes the noise though!!!!!
I've been messing around with so many sound editors that it just ruined the fun of using my laptop to make a video.
So the recent change that I've made is that I started recording with an external mic. Which solves most of my problems, but I still have to plug a mic into my laptop which is sorta annoying but works for the moment.
I sent my Macbook to Apple Support, and they are fixing this. It's still in warranty. They said it's a problem in a board I don't remember wich one... :P So, they are removing the old, to put a new piece.
Mmm, thats something apple didn't tell me. Let me know the results, i'd be eager to mention this in an apple store. Though mines out of warranty and if its expensive I think I'll just live with the problem until its time for a new macbook.
EXACT same problem on my Mac. Apparently it has something to do with the amount of light in the room and the camera being unable to focus? There's a (possibly temporary) solution video somewhere on YouTube, but I've noticed the noise in bright rooms, too.
I have a mac, but don't have this problem - if you just call apple they are usually very happy to help you with your problems and how to resolve them (did you get an apple care plan?)
Hey, did you ever figure this out? I just switched from a macbook pro without this problem to a macbook and it has the exact same problem. Doesn't happen during skype or ichat, only when recording. WTF?
at least other people have the same issue, nothing more irritating than "do you hear that?"
"nope i don't hear anything" "listen...there is a ringing.." "nope still don't hear it" sorry to chuckle at your peril..hope someone can help ;) take care, shannon
Yeah, Macs do work better with video editing than Windows. I still have Windows, but I am hoping that someday, I will get a Mac - just to edit videos and art work.
I just got my macbook too and I have the same problem with the noise. Not a clue how to fix it but a friend of mine works at an apple store so I should be finding out soon.
this used to happen to me too but it eventaually went away of course after i took to the apple store to fix a major bug i think they fixed that too

I have a noise with mine too. Yours sounds like you need to download the 'mirror' widget and run it for a workaround, I forget why it works, try it

Oh... I forgot to mention... I cut off the noise editing on Adobe Soundboot... But It's so boring. I hope to find a solution.
I see your new videos don't have this problem. So, what are you doing now to solve the noise?

Hi Jake...
Well I have a white MacBook and, yes, I have this same problem.
I made some tests and it's not a problem with microphone, because it works fine, really fine, on garage band and iChat, etc.
It's something related to the camera... I am searching on web about it. Anything I get, I'll let you know.
Hugs,
Tati, from Brazil :D

If not for this video I would not have noticed! Strange indeed!!

Until then try to cover it up with a little bit of background music. it's not that bad.
legzandherpiano 3 years ago
maybe it is due to the speakers being on. It is like a cricket or something.

the macbooks microphone interferes with the built in isight, a shame really.
