Yes, it's way too low on the volume. But this is truly a sad day in Sacramento. I remember when this was the CBS station for Sacramento. Classy way for KXTV 10 to end an era.
This clip also brings to mind that great KXTV promotional film in the '60s that was shot with a folk singer (rhapsodizing about "KXTV Land") and the general manager atop the Walnut Grove transmitter tower (I assume that they were somehow strapped in and were not acrophobic). The singer sang a rendition the Gold Rush era sea chanty, "Blow, boys, blow to Californ-i-o." As I recall, one line of KXTV's version was "high in a tower in the western sky."
I commend KXTV for its classy way of transitioning from analog TV. I like the fact that he acknowledged that the digital channel was changing, too. I assume that KXTV anchor Dale Schornack thought that the over-the-air signal was cut off just after his "sign off," but was not aware that the signal was late in being shut off.
cool , take a pepsi while they put off all the tons of equipment !! thats gonna take a couple of lightyears ! LOL :)
