haha, yeah it was definitely random. but there wasn't just 1 by and 1 girl, im pretty sure those other spaceships landing had ppl in them too. heres how i think they meant it: the world ends in fire; the ppl who heard the call go to paradise (where there is a tree of life as in revelation). the bunnies may have represented Easter, which is the Resurrection - another Christian concept: the resurrection at the last day. and everyone else burned and died.

furthermore, the spaceship that descended was actually the wheel within a wheel, and the four angels (you can see their wings in the movie if u look closely). This was in the picture made by the first weird girl (which was a reference to the prophet Ezekiel). that part u probably already figured tho lol...so it was just a fulfillment of the prophecy as was everything else. definitely a weird way to end that movie!

The movie is about some dudes thoughts on christianity, and the bible. At the end, if you look closely, the whisper people (angels) have taken more than two people up the the new planet. And when caleb and abbey arrive at the new planet, it shows the tree of knowledge, which is in the bible, so its just repeating genesis over again with caleb and abby. In the bible, adam and eve eat the apple from the tree of knowledge and the human race starts. Its just repeating now.
