Yeah, you'd think being on the verge of annihilation would foster a more... liberal approach to reproduction. Guess all the women are too busy being Banshees and Farseers to have children. Eldar males must hate their lives.
The problem is that it takes several years for the female to be 'receptive' and a couple of years just to have the pregnancy. It's little surprise then that they view humans as vermin, because the humans can produce several children in the time it takes them to make just one.
Every eldar death is like 6 humans dying, now compare the eldar population of just a few billion, vs the imperiums countless trillions.
The Eldar...... they are so very annoying in this game(and every DoW there is). And fucking overpowered. I think that they should leave them out of future games. And they really should have dissapeared after you kill their Avatar. By the end I had killed 12.977 Eldar, and no craftworld would survive such losses. But on the other hand .... sexy banshees..... must see sexy banshees..... must....... see.....

If the Necrons start appearing in significant numbers, than there's not much anybody can do. With how fast their FTL is, they could easily bring down the Imperium and Ork empires by hitting them with raids faster than they could react to them, though this of course assumes that can avoid the tradition warhammer 40k stupid evil.

As for the status quo, well, the Imperials have probably had plenty of opportunities to kick Abbadon's ass six ways to Sunday, but the way I see it, it's a bit like the situation with Hitler. The Allies had lots of chances to kill him, but they didn't, because he'd probably be replaced by someone competent.
I have a hard time telling if any of the Chaos guys are qualified leaders. For the most part they described as mostly being strong fighters than skilled leaders. Plus, the Chaos Space Marines are always described as sounding like terrible soldiers by real world standards, being insane, and generally not getting along so well, especially the World Eaters.
Considering Eliphas' dialogue in with the Sorcerer in Dark Crusade and what the Daemon Prince says to him he's track is a bad as Abbadon's. Plus, the lore does state that Abbadon does have to get through the 2nd most heavily defended sector in the Imperium, deal with the fact that his subordinates are all insane and often break off searching their own goals, and sometimes the Imperium getting aid from the Orks and Eldar (it would be really amusing if the reverse happened.)

Failbaddon has no excuse. He had 13 Black Crusades - thirteen! - and only the latest ever did anything notable. Sure, the Black Crusades caused a lot of death, killed some Chapters, but the Imperium just rebuilt.
Some fans actually believe that Abbadon loses on purpose, and like I said earlier, some fans also speculate that Chaos Gods don't want to defeat the Imperium. The latter is actually a good theory, since they let the Daemon Primarchs just sit around and do nothing, Khorne is mentioned have a Daemon Prince more powerful than the Daemon Primarchs that he never seems to use, and none of the descriptions of the Chaos Gods makes them sound like they want to win.

@dragonstormx Because that's all Abaddon is - a standard, saturday-morning cartoon villain whose plans are foiled again and again, because God forbid the status quo is upset and GW actually advances the fucking story!
But that won't ever happen. GW is incapable of advancing the story in a proper manner, coming out with new and improved miniatures. Instead, they rehash the same old minis again and again, occasionally adding new stuff like with the Tyranids' Swarmlord.

@dragonstormx And instead of adding anything meaningful to the fluff, they allow knuckle-dragging mouthbreathers like Matt fucking Ward on board. Look at what he's done to the Space Marine fluff - now the Ultramarines, who only get through by blind luck and Hollywood tactics, who were conveniently on the other side of the galaxy when the Horus Heresy, the Age of Apostasy, the Plague of Unbelief and the Wars for Armageddon, are considered to be the greatest Space Marines ever.

@dragonstormx Their oh-so-wonderful and mercifully great Marneus Calgar is the greatest Space Marine in the whole Imperium and every Space Marine ever considers him to be their spiritual liege. Every Space Marine - be they of the Mentors Chapter, the Space Wolves, the Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists or Salamanders or everyone in between - wishes they could be as great and awesome as Marneus Calgar, but never can be because they will never be Ultramarines.

@dragonstormx And don't even get me started on the Blood Angels fluff, what with the Blood Angels and Necrons UNITING AGAINST THE TYRANIDS, and then BROFISTING EACHOTHER because they were ''too tired'' to keep fighting! Yes, that's right - the Necrons, soulless machines who exterminate all life were ''too tired'' to exterminate the rest of the Blood Angels. The same Chapter who believes that killing the undead robots who destroy all life ''dishonourable'' after fighting with them.

@dragonstormx I really could care less about what ''some fans'' think of Abaddon - what I do care about is Matt Ward getting fired, Abaddon dying and being replaced by someone who can actually do shit right, and the fluff advancing. Is that really so hard for GW to do? Is it really so hard to advance the story, to be bold and to introduce new elements into the sfluff and game?
Is it that hard to move the calendar into the 42nd Millennia? I guess so.

Even the main hive fleet does show up, the Imperium will just defeat it and there will be talk of heavy casualties, but it won't be enough to effect the status quo. There may even be something really stupid like the Chaos Space Marines helping them, even it would make more sense for them to just hide out in the Eye of Terror, but like I said, some fans think that the Chaos Gods don't want to the Imperium to be defeated.
