I put a lot of thought into this cuz I had the 5th pick in my fantasy draft this year. Bottom line is I ended up choosing Johnson over the other 2. My reasoning being that Slaton plays on too bad of a team to really do much and I think Cutler is going to hurt Fortes stats big time. Johnson has a great line surrounding him and if he gets a hole hes gone, no ones catchin him. Lendale hurts his TD stats but CJ is determined to become the the offensive MVP this year he was quoted. So CJ ALL THE WAY!

Its hard to blame yourself for not takin him. He wasnt really on the radar to have this type of season during fantasy draft time. I took the gamble and it paid off, literally. Im in first place in my league and winner gets a cool g.

Stats don't decide who is better. Just decides who did better. Chris Johnson is the most valuable IMO. His speed is unrivaled, he is very elusive, and he can break tackles in back field. I belive one game he broke 2 tackles in his own endzone.The thought of CJ in open space is a nightmare to any defense.

His numbers are going to get better the only reason his ypc were 3.9 is because they had no quaterback and defenses were always ready for the run and our offensive line was weak and he still went over 1000 now we have a better offensive line and a way better quaterback his ypc will go up and he will rush for 1400 to 2000 yards this year

Now lemme explain something to you, CJ only had .1 YPC more than Slaton, that ain't a lot especially if you take into account that Steve was ALSO running the ball on goalline situations.

CJ didn't have to do that, CJ's whole purpose is to get as many YPC as possible, 4.9 is good, but Steve did good whilst still running on the goalline situations, so think about it.

Also, each time Slaton and CJ played against each other Slaton did better.

Honestly......please stop the YPC crap......Slaton ran against better defenses. Your boy Johnson didn't have to run against the Tenn run defense 2x a year or the other defenses Slaton ran against.

Slaton is a better receiver, has better vision, is a better natural runner (which is why he had more exposive plays despite the lack of speed that CJ posses)......the only thing CJ has over him is .1 YPC...enjoy that, because it doesn't mean crap. Johnson was easily the most overrated rookie back.

slaton had a team who could throw the ball while no one was scared of the titans pass game at all. Johnson faced defenses stacked against the run with up to 9 in the box while the defenses slaton faced were dropped back expecting a pass to andre johnson or owen daniels. johnson didnt have that luxury.

Johnson also had a overpowering power block Oline that could push people off the ball, while Houston had one of the weakest interior lines (C and G) in the league......many times Slaton had to fight off defender in the backfield just to get to the second level.

When it comes to raw talent, it's hands down Chris Johnson. However, people need to stop hating on Forte. He had the worst Oline of the three and since there was no passing game there were 8 in the box on most plays.

I think its this:

1.) Chris Johnson (that speed should be illegal)

2.) Forte

3.) Slaton (one of the main reasons he got good yards is because his team can actually pass the ball (unlike the other two))

Wrong, you put Slaton in CJ's position and he leads in both.

First of all, Johnson didn't have to run against the defenses Slaton did and he could only manage .1 more ypc

Second if Slaton had a defense to get the opposing team off the field he would've blown the other two backs out of the water, because he would have even MORE yards and carries even though he already lead all rookies is rushing yards something you didn't mention.

The only thing CJ has is more speed and it aint by much.

Forte was the only one of the three who had the whole offense on his back. BAD run blocking O-line, no dangerous passing game ESPECIALLY down field, and no backup RB to spell him and keep him fresh. He had nothing and did very well. He's going to have a monster year.
