My garden was a lot of fun to create but it wasn't cheap. We purchased wood chips for the path and compost for the beds. We purchased fence sections at Home Depot and my husband installed the fence and 4 gates. BUT! You don't need to spend all that money to have a beautiful garden. Start with good soil or add compost and you will have beautiful vegetables or flowers. Yellow and green beans, asparagus, rhubarb, broccoli, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, herbs, cantalope, zucchini and corn.
Nice to see green. Living in the desert you struggle to keep plants alive. I have a big weed problem. It can get real windy so it must be bringing up the seeds. My neighborhood is weeds and concrete.
@dogma71 Hey there! How are you? The wind probably blows the weed seeds into your desert yard. If I lived there I would be trying to make my own compost to help amend the sandy soil.
@dogma71 Planting in pots is a great choice but you must water them thoroughly every day and feed them once in a while. A tomato plant needs about a 20" diameter pot with good potting soil. You can always try one container and see how it goes. It's hotter here than in Vegas today!
@CarolBrad I want to try to grow mint in a pot. I pay to much for it at the grocery store. I'm appreciating dry heat now. I can't imagine weather in the hundreds with 90% humidity.
What a gorgeous, gorgeous garden!! It's an inspiration!

@CarolBrad I'm doing fine, It's so bad the weeds comes through the desert landscape rocks and looks terrible.
Would planting in pots and using compost work too? I'm not much of a gardening person. I get very frustrated when I try.
