  • you can buy the heat sink for the motor, helps out a bit.

  • i am confused, what is better for your car series or parralel

  • is it normal that the engine is very hot after running

  • @TheTranfan Yes. If you're running in series especially. If you're running in series make sure you switched the pinion gear with the one supplied. That'll keep your temps down some....and keep it from burning up.

  • @zZiglaf thanks i just bought my e revo i love it is so fast is it a good idea to use lipo's ?( sorry for my english) XD i will upload a video of my e revo soon do you want to see it please

  • hey there i just bought a traxxas e revo 1/16th and i have been running it in parallel and when i try to put it in series with two 7.2v 1600mah nimh batterys the esc on the rc blinks green then red and wont go. How do i make it work? im sure its all stock. is nimh supposed to be running on green light or red light for esc. please let me know i would really appreciate it. Thank you.

  • @161938 I don't remember for sure. Sounds like it might be in lipo mode? Look at the trouble shooting in the manual.

  • hw does urs to flips? mine doesnt just like goes on its back but does flip completly :/

  • @mathyses Has to be new batteries or lipo's. Basically it's gotta get a full load all at once to do a complete backflip. Mine doesn't do it with those batteries anymore cause they are nimh.

  • @zZiglaf so wat batteries do u use? and u recomend lipo? which ones like voltage, mah etc. and diff pinion? do they burn out the esc? and wuld u hv a lipo chrgr u recommend?

  • @mathyses I just have NiMh. I would recomend lipo, they are a bit in the spendy side. Don't remember on the voltage, your manual should say. Basically the higher the voltage the more power you got though, so whatever it says you can use is what you should use. As for mah, as high as you can afford. They don't burn out the ESC as long as you change the pinion and Don't drive overly aggressively(Through grass/sand for an extend period of time on full throttle, etc-things the stress the car a lot)

  • @zZiglaf thanks man tht helps alot! ahh right so if i wuld buy a 2s i shuld be fine? when im running one at a time do i put in the standard pinion, high speed one, or another one, please specify?

  • Is it all stock and what does the extra pinion gear traxxas which traxxas gives you and can u inbox me with the thing about the esc

  • @jewtubehaha and you have to remove the ESC. it slides out if you open the battery compartment.

  • hey you got the exact same thing taht i am going to gett! is it a traxxas VXL with the series conector using 2 original bats (the one that it comes with)?? how long does your rides last??? sweeett vid!

  • are tou running lipos or 6cell nimh packs in series?

  • @MrDrob08 6 cell NiMh

  • @zZiglaf ok thank you

  • what about 2x 2lps series ?

  • Hey nice video, its really fast!. This might sound really dumb but was it also hard for u to change the gear? that little screw u have to get out? was it hard to get out becuz i stripped mine and I'm not sure what to do.

  • @kevin1032v from what I've heard it's been incredibly hard for most people. I ruined the supplied tool and had to use my own. I'm sure since it's such a wide spread problem if you just call traxxas they'll hook you up and have a solution.

  • @kevin1032v when i changed my pinion gear i used the included tool and kinda tapped on it until it was nice and snug in the screw.. hope this helps i know its aggrivating but keep trying.

  • @badazrang3r hey thanks for the tip but what do you mean tape in the included tool?

  • @kevin1032v the allen wrench that comes with it. the smallest one and i meant tap lol

  • my new e revo vxl is awomse... but when i am barley hitting the throttle it kinda glitches...almost like something skipping...but other then that it runs fine anyone know whats wrong? please respond

    Thanks

  • can u use 2x3s lipo with the stock esc and motor??

  • @HelloImAWESOME7 Don't remember exactly what you could do with lipos, but as long as you don't go over like 16 volts I don't think it matters what you use.

  • @zZiglaf you can run the two 3s but you can only use the parallel not the series adapter

  • @HelloImAWESOME7 ya you can but if run 2 2s lipos in parralell you need to watch the temps. the same thing goes with the 3s but with a single 3s lipo you need to keep an eye on motor temps.

  • @HelloImAWESOME7 you cant use over 3s lipo unless you put low voltage cutoffs.

  • I fixxed my pinoin gear now. what is the run time of yours on 1 battery and on 2 batterys (series)

  • @jayc888x Not totally sure, it's been a while since I drove it. I been busy with school and life. That and there's snow everywhere... I think it was like 10 or 15 minutes. About the same either way. I have Orion 1600 mah batteries.

  • The bolt that holds my pinion gear is striped. i used the supplyed alen key and it striped it. what should i do (it is a day old)

  • @jayc888x Yeah those screws are friggin tight when you try and unscrew them the first time. I broke the supplied alen key myself. If you got it from a hobby store then just tell them and they'll help you out. If you didn't, or if for some reason your hobby store won't, then just call traxxas. They are VERY awesome about helping out. I've gotten several new parts from them for free. They stand by their product better than any other company i've ever known.

  • i just want to kno... how do u put it in series or paraller please reply back thanks

  • @skaterg807 With an adapter to hook the batteries together. One for series, one for parallel

  • @zZiglaf thanks and they just sell those connectors right? the series one is the one in your unboxing vid right?

  • @skaterg807 yes.

  • Wooow

  • So series is twice the power with the same run time and parallel is less speed with twice the run time, right?

  • @Traxxas4908 yup.

  • i have had problems with my tires blowing holes in the rubber how can i fix

    great video

  • @bowhunters333 If it's between the rim and tire, buy tire glue. If it's in the actual tire, don't floor the engine while it's not on the ground driving---and buy new tires.

  • AIC!

  • WHAT PIONION SIZE 23 OR 28

  • are u using lipo or nimh bats

  • @Gospurs10 NIMH

  • so this is with the high speed pinion and 2 ni-mh batteries, correct?

  • Comment removed

  • ok so i tryed to install the 23 t pinion gear today, but i couldnt get the original gear out. How do you do it?

  • @migselv Lol, I'm sorry. I don't know what traxxas was thinking, but the screw in the stock pinions are F'ing tight-like way over tightened tight. I actually broke my hex key trying to get it out the first time-I also know other people have done the same thing. Just make sure you're twisting it the right way, (righty tighty lefty loosy, or clockwise for tighten counter clockwise for loosen) and really wrench on it hard. You're not going to break it. Just be really careful you don't strip it.

  • @migselv16896 And don't put it in NEARLY that tight afterwards

  • Hey. Once you've installed the 23 t pinion gear, can you still run the batteries in parallel? Or do you have to take the pinion gear out and put the stock gear in again?

  • @migselv16896 yes you can, it'll just be a little slower--your motor will actually run a little cooler too---that's the whole point in changing the gear. I can actually get about 10 mph faster without changing the pinion, but that's tempting fate because you can burn up your motor or ESC. Good for speed runs, not driving.

  • @zZiglaf thanks

  • hey is yours brush or brushless?

  • @BBoyStyle96 VXL=BRUSHLESS

  • to power cell batts??

  • @johnthomascogle Don't really have any idea what you were trying to say, but it's two six cell Orion batteries wired in series....

  • nice jesus sandles . . . .

  • @iniquity7 lol, teva baby

  • i think i stick with the parallel cable :)

  • i bought ran the lipos in parallel and that was crazy fast. the throttle was so touchy haha

  • I just got my mini erevo 2 day!!! Hey is it easy to change to the 23 t pinoin

  • Not bad. The instructions on how are really straight forward. Just do exactly as they say. Don't over tighten the screw that holds your motor in place though.

  • Dude thanks

  • Yeah they get really hot. I let them cool off and they seem to run fine. I takes about 10-20 minutes to cool. Am I damaging the batteries? Thanks for answering so quick!

  • yeah I was going to say they probably charge friggin quick. As long as they take to cool would probably make up the difference charging them at 2 amps and not letting them cool though. As a rule with pretty much any battery--lipo or regular, is 1000 mah = 1 amp, 2000 mah = 2 amps, 3000 mah = 3 amps. So I do my 1600's at 2 amps. Takes about 40 minutes. You might ruin them doing more--increases the chances of them exploding or oozing acid everywhere too getting them so hot over and over.

  • YES!!!! DON'T charge your 1/16 batteries any faster than 1.5amps, if you charge with more it kills the life of the battery.

  • Yeah they get really hot. I let them cool off and they seem to run fine. I takes about 10-20 minutes to cool. Am I damaging the batteries? Thanks for answering so quick!

  • 1600 mah

  • yeah, prolly shouldn't do more than 2. Don't they get really really hot?

  • On mymini erevo, i charge my batts on 3.9 amps. Is that bad?

  • what is their mah?

  • whats the time 1 battery takes to charge??

  • Depends on the charger, but with a good one it should take about 1h.

  • nice car i have the same one

  • Hi, just a funny quistion, but is the high speed pinion the 23T insteed of the 28 T ??? it says so in the manuel, but a bigger pinion usualy meens more speed to me :-)

  • @tsnstuds read the description.

  • @unbreakablebond500

Dos it say how if the speed pinion is the 23T or the 28T. I dont think so !!

  • which connector for 2 nimh packs and 2 packs of 11.1v and 2 packs of 7.4v which connector do i need both of them plz get back to me as i have order my batteries i should get them in the morning

  • series is 14.4v and paralell or one battery is 7.2v

  • is this brushed or brushless? im assuming yours is brushless because i dont believe that my brushed e-revo came with another pinion gear. my esc did burn up because i ran dual batteries too.

please let me know if an extra pinion gear was supposed to come with my brushed e-revo. Thanks

  • like my previous post...series connector = makes 2 batteries of 7.2v and 1600 mah into 1 battery of 14.4v and 1600 mah. The parallel makes 2 batteries 7.2v and 1600 mah into 1 battery of 7.2v and 3200 mah. More volts = more speed. More mah = more battery life.

  • if you want to hook both batteries to your charger at once. I suppose maybe you could do it through your series connector, but i'm not sure. It'll give you the option of twice the battery life but half the speed. Also is only like $5.

  • not if you hook them to one with a parallel connector

  • I've charged mine through the parallel connector before--the one that gives you 2 times the battery life and half the speed---it basically makes it one big battery--7.2 volts with 3200 mah mah; while the series makes it a 14.4 battery at 1600 mah. Long story short, you can charge 2 at once through a parallel connector but it takes a long time. 2 amps is still the max for them--technically it's 1.6 amps but I dont have that option and 2 amps has never hurt mine. So...that was wordy hope it helped

  • series connector...

  • Yes you need to switch the pinion gear, it's very easy and straight forward, just do what the instructions say. As for your other questions, on battery life, on the harness, and any others, read my previous comments TO YOU!

  • can you run 2 2s lipos in series without burn the esc or motor??? nice vid =)

  • not sure on lipo's, I think as long as you're not topping 14.4 volts you're good. I know some lipo's are like 9 or 10 volts and you CAN"T use those, I don't know if you can get them at 7 or not. Running one lipo at 10 volts is faster than 2 nimh at 14.4 though because they can discharge to much faster, and they have a lot higher mah so you get a lot better battery life...they also cost a lot more.

  • Yes, same exact battery---or two better ones. I have the orion 1600 mah's, get quite a bit of run time-15 minutes? Plenty for me. I have 2 sets. And yes you need the series connector if you wanna hook the batteries up and make it go 50 mph. it only costs like $5.

  • extra battery with the same mah, series connector

  • extra battery, series connector

  • What are the requard parts to go to series dual batterys??? PLEASE ANWSER?

  • buy or make a series connector, and get and extra battery of equal mah.

  • whats the battery life?

  • 15 or 20 minutes, plenty of time for me to get bored. I have 2 sets if I don't though.

  • I always lose body clips and break the arms.

The body clips come off when it flips and slides backwards.

I also broke the arms just from cartwheeling in the grass

  • wow, really, cartwheel in grass broke yours? I did like 15 in a row doing a speed run in a parkinglot and didn't break anything---speed run with a different pinion. This was my first RC since I was a little kid, this next summer I'll be upgrading to the full size erevo, mamba monster.

  • sorry for all the questions... is it easy to swap pinions over

  • Yes. Do it just like the little instruction book says. Not hard at all.

  • is the speed pinion a must

  • I've driven some without, they say it'll burn up your ESC. So when I do, I don't for very long.

  • does this have the"speed pinion " on

  • Yes.

  • lol lost body clip ? :P on 10 min i lost 4

  • I think that two 3S packs in parallel would be perfect.

    Peter

  • If you put more than 20 volts into it you will burn the esc, the max voltage for lipos is 12.6 volts and with nimh is 18 volts, and even in 4 s you wouldnt have over discharge protection.

  • So this is just 2 batteries...the 2nd one identical to the first that came stock with a series connector?

  • yep.

  • is that the stock battery but serieconnected? or is it lipo?

    thanx :D

  • i think its the stock, but he has 2 so he put it in a series getting him a result of 14.4 volts.

  • Just a regular in series.

  • where can i bur jumps to my revo vxl?

    5/5

  • make them or buy the plastic ones at like walmart and other similar stores made for skaters etc.

  • 10eightys, are perfect, and relativaly cheap

  • thx for the answer :-D

  • can i drive with 2 7.4v lipos(2s) in series?

    plzzz answer!

    NICE Vid Man 5/5

  • yes

  • so im guessing this was with the included gearing installed and cool vid there

  • Yeah this video was with the included gear. If you use the stock gear it supposedly burns up your ESC...HOWEVER...I like to show it off sometimes with the stock gear. I don't run it long enough to burn anything up, just show the speed. Haven't had any problems and the thing goes 60+ like that.

  • where do you live this looks like a fimaliar place where i run my king ans e maxx

  • Idaho. I'd assume a lot of subdivisions look very similar at that point though.

  • o nevermind theres a place just like that in orlando and nice truck

  • can you put dual lipos into series and run it? what will it do?

  • Far as I know, I don't run lipo's though so don't quote me. It has the voltage detection for lipo's so I don't know why you couldn't.

  • id just assume it would be faster and have more battery life

  • faster yes, battery life no. The only reason you wouldn't be able to do two lipo's is because of how the voltage and things vary with lipo's. I'm pretty sure you can though.

  • WARNING!!!!! Don't run two lipos in series. You cannot run two lipos because in series becasue it would have an out but of 22.2 volt which would fry the ESC or motor you can however run two lipos paralle for max run time. with The NiMH you can run either series would put out 14.4 volts and paralle would make your standard 7.2 just with twice the runtime. Hope this helps and cool video

  • did you destroy your car because you did that? foolish...

  • no i did not fry my car i just know that it cannot handle 22.2 volts

  • ok:) sorry

  • Wat kind of battery u use i seen one i was wondering were the battery was

  • I have 2 pairs of the Team Orion 1600 mah

  • I think at times it can be too much power also. This is why I recently bought the parallel connector. Which is twice the run time with out the problem of over heating. But im surely loving the car how about yourself?

  • I actually lost a joint in my rear halfshaft, and no one has them around here. I also keep putting off ordering some online, so i haven't driven in a while.

  • whose the chick? she sounds hot

  • The chick would be my wife....and she's not too bad if I do say so myself.

  • SICK! I've been waiting for these to come out. Can't wait to buy one, looks like a blast!

  • OMG!!! i want one of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im not sure but i believe that is faster than any other truck without using lipos

  • so this is just with two normal traxxas batteries

i guess its time to retire my jato because im getting this

  • 10-15 single or series, 15-30 in parallel. I get an average of 20 minutes in parallel.

  • mine now goes 49mph it hard to tell but there so close were =.

  • I have your same setup but I clocked mine only at 47 mph.

  • How did yours compare to mine? Did it look faster, slower, or about the same?

  • HOLY SHIZA thts crazy

  • You gotta see one in person, this doesn't really capture how fast it's really going.

  • do u have to change the pinion if u just want to use 2 batteries for the longer race time??

  • For the parallel connector, no. I do think you get a little more power though. Only for going high speed with the series connector, and then you only have to cause you'll over heat your ESC. The motor can do more, the ESC can't. It's not hard to change at all, but I'm going to stick with the stock pinion--it's plenty fast and the series is too fast to play--only race.

  • can you put two nimhs in parallel, because on maxamps website it says that only lipos?

  • You can put the nimh's in parallel as well.

  • yeah my esc over heated when i was using it. i have a video of mine flying:D

  • Did you change your pinion or were you going series on the stock one?

  • i just switched to the speed pinion. but before that it was running the stock one

  • so I guess it really will overheat it. Was there a noticeable difference in speed between the speed pinion and the stock?

  • their was a difference but it wasnt really big between the stock pinion. I might be wrong because my tires were literraly off their rims:)

  • mine were coming off with the racing pinion

  • i couldnt imagine this with foam tires. it would burn them out.

  • thanks cool truck looks fun is its

  • how long do the thing last with 2 power cells

  • Mine seems to last forever. Traxxas said you'd get like 10 minutes, I get like 15-20 minutes. Right now I'm running the stock 1200 mAh and a 1600 mAh nimh because the hobby shop was out of batteries. In series I don't run it all the way down cause that can hurt the 1200 mAh I guess. But yeah, surprising battery life.

  • hey bro just geting back into RC wondering with this can you dooo somethings tooo keep ittt from wheelying like with esc or somethings orrr isss nothings that can beee done ????????????

  • I'm sure you can get some kind of wheelie bar...or make one if you want that speed, but don't want wheelies. Other than that, keep the stock pinion gear and run one battery at a time and you won't have too much trouble. If you want even less wheelie than that, but still quite a bit of speed, but the high speed pinion gear on, and then run single batteries and I doubt you'd have any trouble at all. It comes with two pinion gears--the stock and the high speed.

  • thanks bro i am likeing the wheelys but when iii just want to go fast i do not want have to worrys bout it only wanting to wheely you know what iii mean bro
