This is weird and very funny film, full of steretypes :)) dont waste your time, better watch his (B. Anderson's) "Machinist" - the best he could create
Ok. As always, movies about Russia are classic... Clean, smiling, happy americans, dirty, filthy, evil russians... Bad cars, corrupted police, old ugly faces...
Living in soviet times, old-fashioned hobos with no manners at all... Nothing against americans, but as always, anti-russian propaganda, usa are growing up a culture of anti-russians, so no one would come there, no one would invest into buinesses there... Classic... Everyone who watch western movies... First see "Subconscious War".
@clubbangerhouse Yeah. It's too bad, I got to live in Russia for a year, and it was beautiful there. The people were incredibly friendly too. Pity that Hollywood can't get out of the Cold War mentality.
I love Emily Mortimer...!!! ...... Too!! ..... I think she is just fab! This movie is superb and one of the better 'Hitchcockian' thrillers in the last decade. I can't fathom how this only made $2MM at the box office. What people insist on going to see instead of movies this good is just beyond me. Also, Brad Anderson rocks as a director. Catch his 'Machinist' as well.
Ben Kingsley as a Rus? Is that doable? If so, Kingsley could do it, I reckon. Done seen a bear turn over a cabin like any ol' tree stump once, lookin' for grubs I reckon. Yeappppppp. That Kingsley's a helluva bear.
@haakon4 Ignore imdb and other 'surveys' of street folk, unless you simply consider yourself no more discerning a movie fan than street folk. Go to Rotten Tomatoes, but always make sure to click on 'Top Critics' to get the Rotten Tomatoes read of them. For Transsiberian 16 out of 17 (94%) of Top Critics (people who know movies and aren't just trying to get their name out there by being contrarian) give the movie the thumbs up. I don't go to a movie unless Top Critics give the movie at least 70%.
LOL I've got a top comment...hehe. Didn't notice until you called me 'fucking dumb'...thanks. Btw I'm more into aesthetic and emotions than simple thrillers. Tastes differ.
ATTENTION!
