  • Really clever beats man, and a genuine groove that I easily fell into. Love the pads and the accents...and the reverb on the vocals makes this a seriously tasty piece. Love the subtle break out of the intro at ~1:57 - very nice use of fade away/return on the chopped snare. Great double everyother bar give a spicey tribal feel, too. A seriously well balanced and nicely done piece, bro. Please make more!

  • Just came across this on a search. Really like this. Love the quality of tape in the track, defo gives character as Grimey says. nice and eery track that probably would be in my 94 jungle collection if it had got released. 5/5 man. love it.

  • 1994? Crikey, just had a listen of the original. Both these versions are really awesome mate great job!

Thanks for taking the time to listen, it's apprieciated. Stay cool fella.

  • This is insane extremely professional, one of the best on youtube that i have found :) The feel of the track is amazing and the drums are killer, what did you use to create this back in '94 was it hardware?

  • Cheers grimey, Thanks for your positive comments mate - I'm glad your feeling it. Originally i made it using Notator (sequencer) on an Atari 1040 with a Roland W30 workstation for all the samples and beats and a Roland U220 for some of the instrumental section. I've still got all me old equipment but I'm lovin' Reason 4 - it's a much easier way to work and there's no spagetti of wires :oD

Stay cool, Fella - Peace to you.

  • How long do you roughly spend on getting a track finished?

  • It varies, but to give an average, i can spend (over a period of) about three weeks on a track.

The trouble is I work full time so I can only get a couple of hours at a time to 'chip away' on a tune. If I had my way I'd be doing it 24/7 :oD

How about you, how long do you take on a tune?

  • Doh! I meant to click on reply for your last post "I spend about the same on a track, somtimes longer if it isn't getting any where and then i start from scratch. I think i should probably spend longer but i get these ideas in my head and have to just get them down as quick as possible which means it sometimes seemed rush", but removed it by mistake.

I know what you mean - the other side is that I can spend far too long on a track and 'over-work' it. It's all part of the game though. :o)

  • Do you have the original 1994 version on a format you could upload onto youtube, It would be really great to hear or did you pretty much replicate the same sounds in reason?

  • 'Ello grimey.

I've got a copy of it on mp3, taken from a 'ye olde cassette tape' copy, so the sound quality is a bit dire , but yeah sure, when I get a chance i'll post it up.

    ;o)

    Stay cool Fella.

  • Nice one cant wait to hear it, i think that the cassette to mp3 quality will give it character, just listen to some of the early jungle stuff on youtube the quality isn't perfect but it just sounds so nice.

  • wow man!!!! fucking wicked track :D really feeling this shit!!!! mental, 5 stars and favourited, killed drums and madman basslines :D please please please!!!! make more stuff like this ? :D hahaha!!!! fucking mad track!!!!!!!!!! respect!!! peace m8 :D xxxxx

  • Cheers Fella. I really apprieciate your comments. ;o)

Working an old track like this is a good way to really learn how reason works. I just might have to drag out a few other old ones ;o) Peace to you Fella.

  • :D i actually meant to type, killer drums, and not killed, brilliant track m8!!!!! you've actually made 7:48 go very fast, you know you have a good track, when its long, but feels so short :D IF YOU GET SWINE FLU, I REALLY HOPE YOU WILL BE JUST FINE M8 ;) fingers crossed, peace m8

  • Thanks 'man - you too, stay healthy. ;o)
