  • This is fake i know people who Have BEEN to north korea and it was nothing like this its a paradise ok it has some flaws but it has better living places then capitalist USA like Detroit ive see them places in The US NK is better Communism works

  • @cocoo222

Could the people who went to North Korea go where they wished, freely, or did they have to be escorted around by government employed guides?

It's the latter. Not even the crazy defenders of this place deny this.

Now - why would NK do this?

    The answer is rather obvious.

  • 4:38, common (or in the case of Socialist countries non-common) criminal, not a dissident.

  • "people should be asked to believe it if it is real"

but it isn't. so they shouldn't

there is NO compelling evidence given in this video or any of the supporting material.

Are you sponsored by the USA / CIA / NED... or some other agency of imperialism?

  • Filmed with a marshmallow

  • God watch those who are risking their lives to spread the news in nk.

  • The western people are so lucky that they are born on the right side of the world because we live a wealthy and healthy life which is taken for granted. I´ve seen vids about N. Korea and I think that in the countryside and in prison camps things happen which are as bad as what happend during the holocaust in WW2. And the Chinese CCP doesn´t care about the people because if N. Koreans are catched they are send back. CCP only cares for power and N. Korea is their butt mate.

  • Wow daily life their is hell!

  • to be fair though....all countries put their millitary spending above the needs of the people...i know theirs no comparing my situation to someone in rural NK but it does show you how out of ideas we are on this planet

  • Wait till the dear leader sees this !

  • Thank you for this refreshing video, this is quite the right way to do an anti NK vid which is true I can say- unlike what we see comin from South Korean media. I have been to DPR in 1982 and we have good ties w/ them. I have seen provincial ttown but in 82 not today.

I would believe there would b anti Kim Jong Il sentiment. One of the homies who went ther for a leather boots mfr contract told me he could see a few anti Kim Jong Il fliers scatter about in road even (NOT in cities tho for SURE

  • @xxxdieselyyy -----2---------->Typically, you get flier handi printed and u put it under factory dustbin discretely . I dunno, to be fair to both sides, people would NOT do this to Kim Il Sung....

Kim Jong Il did screw up people's standard of living let's not forget SANCTIONS. It doesn't affect Kim Jong Il. It affects people of NK and it's used as a tool 2 make ppl hate the govt by "UN"...

Remove the sanctions and let's see if ppl say the same thing 'bouts IL.

  • @xxxdieselyyy ------3---------->If a freedom loving country was subject to as much sanctions as NK is, then it would b like ANARCHY and large scale dacoitry nationwide. Then a US friendly military dictator will take control and keep things in order :)

Hardship in NK is enforced by UN, and NK has still done a good job, given those crushing blows on commerce and collapse of u r largest trading partner (USSR) in 1 box.

Put NK level sanctions on Japan and South Korea and see what happens.

  • @xxxdieselyyy ----4-------->NK don't need "democracy" or party politics BULLSHIT, it needs removal of sanctions, plain and simple. Just allow them to do commerce.

  • If they're doing it for profit we should offer $5000 for every filmed public poster denouncing the two Kims. Cheaper than a military and probably more effective long term. :)

  • Shooting a vid like this in NK would take a lot of guts.

  • was this filmed with a calculator ?

  • @fonyx

u fukin stupid? u arnt allowed 2 film in north korea so they use cellphones.

and stop copying others saying "was this filmed on calculator" the quality isnt as bad as ur cellphone.

  • Italiano said it very well. Yes, keep spreading the message.

Keep up the great work by giving a voice to those who can't speak out against the regime.

May God be with you and keep you safe. We can also pass on this video to our social networks, friends, family and support groups that are, like you, trying to do what they can to help the people of North Korea.

There is the North Korea Freedom Coalition. You can go to their website to see how you can get involved.

  • oh wow! this is the original video! Good job in putting up that banner. I pray that one day freedom will be in NK. My God be with you and keep spreading the message.

  • "Park, who fled North Korea early this year, said he worked as a driver for a state-owned company in Hoeryong, a city near the Chinese border. About five years ago, he was approached by a well-connected trader from the capital, Pyongyang, with a business proposition. The trader asked him to use his car to distribute pirated DVDs and videos that were being smuggled in from China."

How do they get dvd players in nk?

Don't they only have electricity in pyongyang?

  • 조지오웰의 '1984년' 를 읽어면 북한의 사회를 이해 할수 있을게요.

If you want to understand North Korean society you have to read '1984' by George Orwell.

  • Korean letters posted on the wall reads:

    "어디야? 어디?"

"김정일 타도하자. 인민들이여 모두 일어나 독재자를 몰아내자.

김정일이 한 짓이다. 우리는 얻어맞고 굶고 헐벗고 죽어야 하는가.

우리를 어디로 끌고 가는 것이냐. 인민들이여 싸워서 자유민주를 되찾자

    자유청년 동지회"

  • Cameraman said, "Where is it? Where?"

Dissident's poster on the wall reads:

    "Let's overthrow Kim Jong Il.

People should rise up to drive out the Dictator.

This is what Kim Jong Il has done to us.

Why must we be beaten, depriven, and starving to death?

    Where are we marched off?

People should fight to achieve freedom and democracy.

    - Freedom Youth League"

  • * I wonder how many people in North Korea could understand the literical meaning of freedom and democracy.

They are educated from infants that Kim Il Sung is God and Kim Jong Il is a son of God.

  • yes

  • misterelsh agreed

  • I just want to commend the extraordinary bravery of the man who made the sign, whoever helped him, and whoever may be involved in any type of "nascent dissident movement" that may or may not exist in North Korea.

  • Are you serious? Get out of here with that shit, you monster.

  • I'm sure it's a joke.

  • This is America in another decade or two. Don't believe me? The government has begin revoking rights in our Bill of Rights. I encourage everyone to read our Bill of Rights, then research the new laws and bills being implemented and suggested by our government. Miranda Rights - Gone! Habeas Corpus - Gone! 1st Amendment - Gone! 2nd Amendment - Gone! 4th Amendment - Gone! 5th Amendment - Gone! 6th Amendment - Gone! 8th Amendment - Gone! 10th Amendment - Gone! 13th Amendment - Gone! Education! :)
  • yOUR an idiot . Learn about checks and balances about America Before making such stupid nonsense remarks.

  • Their government's lies are evident in the name: "Democratic People's Republic of Korea." Please. Democratic? I think not. People's ANYTHING? They hardly HAVE anything. Republic? Hardly anyone has "representation," and those few are the high-ranking government officials.

It's sad to see such a repressed Stalinist society. They're really frozen in time... Pyongyang is so repressed and uptight it really feels eerie, almost "dead." The rural areas are stuck in the 18th century, for the most part.

  • Comparable to this video itself; citizens of the "DPRK" are reduced to nothing more than pixels. It's a perfect Orwellian society... shut off from the world, force-fed government propaganda, lied to daily to keep society in check. Is America perfect? Of course not. But I think the simple fact that I can make that concession is evidence that we're certainly not comparable to NK in terms of, well... anything.

Pyongyang is a facade; look at rural North Korea and tell me that's not truepoverty.

  • Looks like quite the night mare, but what to do about it?

  • I heard Jong Il watches porn and drinks Hennesy by the gallon while his people are forced to eat rats and children to survive. They have to use their own shit for fertilizer. Someone needs to assassinate that fuck head.

  • im surprised noone hasnt i heard lots of people commited suicide.. i was sure atleast someone that commited suicide wouldve atleast gave it a chance too assassinate him.. lol

  • the dear leader lol, he looks like a walking penis

  • we really can see what's this is all about. but we all know america has a large militray base in korea.

  • i can see kim jong il finding this on the web and going nutso...i hope that sob dies in horrible agony

  • I wish there were people who are able to go inside and post pictures or videos of life outside of North Korea so they can see that there are countries with freedom and food. If the people knew what Kim Jong Ill is doing to his country they will revolt but kept in ignorance they won't.

  • there goes the neighbourhood! all vandals should be shot!

  • 한국의 사람들은 위로 일어나고 자유를 위해 싸운다!

  • this man is very barve, he is like a real-life Winston Smith.

  • 04:26 looks like something from Invasion of Body Snatchers

  • Hey Bluesubmarines

Thank you for that translation. I am so encouraged that there is a defiant youth movement in the midst of that madness! I pray every single night for NK and my husband and I send money to help support a safe house for North Koreans coming over the border into China. We also will be attending NK Freedom day in Washington DC at the end of April. It seems like so many small acts but it is what I able to do for now.

  • you must understand, i am fully aware of how totally fucked up the dprk and its government is and how literally insane the situation is and how much people are suffering and want to escape. however the demise of kim jong il is a wish of many- some of which are totally evil themselves and don't care about the people and don't care about improving their lives. they care about their political and economic interests. but a popular uprising in N korea against totalitarianism would be wonderful.

  • thats really helpful info (in the comments) i'm glad people clearified and explained. thats the kind of info that should accompany this otherwise largely unclear, but extremely important (if real) video. and i disagree with nimwghen: i think people should be asked to believe it if it is real.

  • I mentioned: You are not asked to believe it, you are kindly requested to think about what is going on inside NK. That is the least thing you could do as a human being... and I will add: It is not the messenger that counts, but the message. Did you read 'about this video'? Did you check the links mentioned in it? Instead of discussing what the free world (or you) can do, you dispute the authenticity of the video.

  • Thanks bluesubmarine. I lived in China for a while, as well as a few other countries, and also studied Environmental science. I remember the first lecture from our professor and he said that the world's pollution and environmental problems could not be solved by technology, only by human policy and change. But the systems that I have seen, whether democratic, socialist and communist, seem similar in terms of environmental destruction, though many would disagree. Thanks for your opinion. Cheers.

  • Oh please. The people of Cuba have done quite well for themselves on getting around their energy problem that was forced upon them.

  • That's rich coming from an American, if you were honest about your nationality that is.

  • Sorry to disappoint you hon but I'm a pure breed southern American. Yes us Commies do live here so get over it.

  • what is kind of hard to believe is that anyone in NK would make documentation of their friends putting up a banner denouncing KJI. that's a lot of text. it seems more likely that one would quickly make something short and concise, get it up quickly at night, and not even consider creating evidence.

  • nothing about this piece of video tells me that the 'freedom youth league' created it, or that they exist inside NK.

  • You are not asked to believe it, you are kindly requested to think about what is going on inside NK. That is the least thing you could do as a human being...

  • Of course the real bastards are the communist Chinese that still protect the "communist regime"in North Korea. Still, we do have to admit that the one child policy in China has reduced the world's population by many millions of people and this could only be done by a totalitarian government. Perhaps democracy will not save the planet? Maybe the Earth's future can only be saved from the green house effect by a jackboot in someone's face. Feel free to give your opinion.

  • The current Chinese government is not communist. They're very much into capitalism and the people don't have much of a say with their jobs and unions don't exist etc. If you knew anything about communism you'd know if it's practice correctly it's very democratic.

  • For my first degree I majored in Marxist Political thought. How about you?

  • LOL! I find that hard to believe. LOL! Oh thanks for making me laugh. Oh that's a good one. For the record my degree is in criminal justice so you can suck it.

  • Good to know we have such polite and articulate people upholding the law and protecting society. I wonder what the future would be like if you and your mates came to power. Tolerant and understanding perhaps. And yes, my first degree was in Marxist political thought in Asia, with a minor in my first Asian language. Except for North Korea, I have lived in most Asian countries, including some communist ones. How about you? Have you lived in a communist country before?

  • You'd have more of a chance to have a job, food and be treated humanly by corporations because they wouldn't exist as we know it now. Your first Asian language? Korean? Japanese? Mandarin? Hon there's never been a communist country so how can you have lived in one? The closest country to communism has been Cuba. So you've lived there? I love it when people proclaim to have this or that high education in Communism and Karl Marx and yet get the basic shit wrong. LOL!

  • Oh and no I've never lived in a communist country before because there has never been one to live in sadly. North Korea is NOT communist. So I think if you do have a degree in some sort of Marxist political thought (what the hell is that shit?) you need to get your money back. Oh and we don't call ourselves Marxist's. We call our selves Socialist's, Democratic Socialist's, Communist's etc. So you can't even get the name right. How pathetic. I laugh at your shit. LOL! Lame!

  • Oh and you can keep your insults to yourself about being polite and articulate. You're full of shit and I'm going to call you out on it. If you can't handle that maybe you should stick to fuzzy pop culture shit Youtube video's. Not where people will challenge you. And if language and being polite turns you off to people who are going into law enforcement that's pathetic and you'd not like pretty much all of the people I know going the same path who are great people. Lame.

  • I'm crushed. I'll only watch videos about Disney Land from now on because the white light that surrounds you blinds rich capitalist roaders like me. Good luck with that comrade inspector Jose! If you want to contact me again, you can find me at the Fantasia posts. I'm humbled by your revolutionary spirit. One question though, I thought a university education in Latin America was really expensive. Your not a rich boy who wants to be a socialist because your angry with your father are you?

  • Honey I'm a woman not some little boy you can fuck with like Rush Limbaugh does in the Dominican Republic. You know shit about what you're talking about so you're lame and pathetic attacks on me mean nothing and neither do you .I find them amusing. For the record I'm very close to my family and I'm not rich at all which is why I'm a communist and because I agree with communism. You can suck it. You think you're clever with your little come backs but they're pathetic like your capitalist shit.

  • Oh and hon I'm an American. You can't get anything right. No wonder you're full of shit.

  • An American/Mexican Shemale perhaps?

Are you an actual American citizen or did you express check into the country, hiding under the back seat of a smuggler's pizza van and now work at Los Losers Taco bar?

Do the words "illegal alien" make you nervous or perhaps you can rationalise your life by taking Antonio Gramsci words as your own.

  • Nope honey. As I said I'm a southern American pure bred. No hon words don't make me nervous. Rightwing morons do.

  • I take it you didn't understand what I said. No problem "hon"(do you mean honey or Honduras?) I've enjoyed myself alot talking with you and I wish you all success in your life as a pure (bit of Spanish, Mexican, Indian, Portugese, Iguana and Taco) southern American. Or do you mean the "deep south" of the USA. That seems more like it. In 20 years, you'll have forgotten about all this, taking your 2.5 kids to soccer practice in your new SUV, before posting your new American Express application in.

  • Oh so now you're Miss Cleo. LOL. I love how you think I'm taking anything you say seriously lol.

  • Can someone who reads north koream please tell me what those signs say in the video? I am sure it is important to the video. God bless the brave person who shot this glimpse into the colorless and desperate country of NK

  • thats odd, I searched resistance fall of man secret weapons and I get this. WIERD???

  • That's because this is Resistance Fall of the Hangul!

  • Okkkkkkk

  • i can't quite tell what is going on in the first 3/4 of this video... what dissident activity is occuring?

  • The use of a camera is strictly forbidden in NK - if arrested the cameraman can face the death panelty. It shows the real life in NK in the city of Hoeryeong.

  • This is like Hitler's Warsaw Ghetto.

    "Never Again" huh..?

  • If the story from people who have escaped the north are true then the we are talking somthing much worse than the holocaust in ww2

  • There has to be a dissident movement. Of course its allowed and controlled. The danger to the state just can't be imagined, in some small way it must be real. Totalitarianism is based on fear. Fear of change, fear of outsiders...there always has to exist the real and immediate danger of being plunged into chaos and war, if not how can "the leader" save you? It works even better in a society where the elder successful male is revered as a god.

  • When was this video taken (roughly)? I haven't seen this one before. Does anyone know if it was the same person shooting the video as the well-known public execution video?

  • Looks like a regime change can't come soon enough!

  • In the "video owners option", next to the videoscreen you can find the url which will show you the places on satellite pictures where this movie was made in Hoeryong.
