Roger cant be considered the greatest of all time cos he has a negative head-to-head record with his greatest rival (rafa) and he has a modest 5set record (18-16) infact he has chocked many times on a big stage in a 5 set match (safin 05, nalbandian 05, nadal 08, del potro 09, djokovic 10 & 11, tsonga 11). Fed has dominated tennis from 2004 and 2007 like no one has ever done but overall because of those two facts he can only be considered the most successful players of all time, im fed's fan btw

@petitprince1 The losses against Safin in Aussie '05 and Nadal at Wimbledon '08 and Aussie '09 can hardly be called chokes. Those are classics that he happened to lose. Federer's bad record against Nadal is explained by the fact that Nadal is the greatest clay-court player ever, only Borg can compare. He kept reaching clay finals against Nadal and he kept losing. Take away the clay matches and it's pretty much even now that Federer is in decline and got blasted by Nadal even on hardcourts.

And Laver was the best among many greats in the 60s and had tennis not gone pro he would have won many more slams. how about connors or lendl, sure they never won RG or wimbledon but they surpassed fed in other departments

But if you want to nitpick, Federer plenty of records like reaching 23 consecutive GS semis and 10 finals As impressive as Djokovic's season has been, he would still have to win the year-end championship to match Federer's best seasons if terms of actual importance. In '06 and '07, Fed won 3 majors and reached the FO final and won the year-end championship.

Djokovic has made 10.5 million so far this year. 2011 Djokovic beat Nadal in 2 GS finals to equal Federer total career wins against Nadal in GS Finals.
