The space pirates in MP scared me to death. The theme was just... TOO MUCH. It made me so nervous cuz they were not easy to beat. Despite this, MP had the best theme
I think that the space pirates should be actual pirates. that is, marauding, stealing, killing and draining resources. they should only work together for larger prizes instead of being an organized military force.
I think if they could sort of mix Prime 1 and Prime 3 themes together, it would be great! Like put that creepy guitar rift from in at 2:47 on the 3rd. As for looks they look thier best in 1.
I like the way the Pirates looked in Prime the most and they seemed a tad more like the pirates in the original games. Echoes had some cool looking Pirates who looked pretty advanced in tech, but look a tad out of place. Corruption's looked far more diverse and had the Hypermode (reminds me of devil trgger in Devil May Cry about) that made them tougher, but kinda lost their intimidating feel. As for the themes Prime had the best one hands down, Echoes was alright, and Corruption meh.

The way the pirates charged at you in Prime was scary. The ones in two were ok. I think the coolest ones were in Corruption, but they weren't that scary.
these space pirates change alot from game to game...yet we know theyre the same guys of the same species, with the same goal.....uh...just what IS the space piraste's goal again? And why is Ridley their leader?
They're pirates! They don't really have an ultimate goal accept to steal, kill, conquer, cause general havoc and listen to whatever their current leader says.
The 'Pirate High Command' are actually the leaders, with Ridley being a sort of general.
The only two to ever actually have a mission were Mother Brain, who wished to use the Pirates to clone metroids and weaken the Galactic federation; and Dark Samus, who just wanted to spread phazon corruption.
I feel like the pirates are different from game to game for a reason. For example, in MP2 they were fused with Phazon when traveling to Dark Aether. In MP3 there were alot of ranging types because their homeworld is included in the game. I prefer MP2's theme the most though. It's really dark and has a different ring to it. MP's theme is uber wicked though! Expecially with that electric guitar!
I like the MP1 the most in my opinion. Well I think the space pirates in MP3 are the most hardest one to kill because there is more variety of pirates than the MP2 and MP1. I think the reason for this is that MP3 pirates has the most stamina after you have obtained the PED suit. So you need to use more hypermoe to defeat the pirates because it takes a long time to kill them if you fight normally which makes it hard.
I prefer the MP1 Pirate music. It got the creepy feeling in it, and you can feel they may appear everyfuckingwhere you dont expect them. And the "guitar solo" is awesome, it fits!
But MP2's pirate theme is dark and that suits the game perfectly, as blackviper said!
Mp3 is okay, an improved version of MP1, but still not the old MP1. But its not bad, I dont say it sucks :)

That background "gurgling" noise persists into the battle with prime. I'd have to say my favorite is 2, I like the tempo and beat. Though I like how they cut down on the obnoxiously long intermission in the third one between loops.
If I had to choose which space pirate versions out of the three Metroid Prime games, I would choose the Metroid Prime 2 version space pirate. Anyway, great video, Metroid Prime 2 version of the space pirate theme is my favorite out of the three. Good work.
The reason the music's changing each game is that the Pirates are killing each sound-producer each game for not having the music distract and kill Samus.
oh shit remember in metroid prime one how the damn space pirates had firey eyes!!! i was 10 and i remember in the dark i had to use um...yea thermal vision too see them and i was freaked out! and then the diffrent kind of ones like you had to use the right beam to kill them! and they kept popping out of the walls! and then every time a passed one of those big pirates i would get freaked out that theyll pop out and ill have to fight them and the other pirates!
MP2 was the scariest of the trilogy. G.F. zombies at the begining, dark red eye creatures called Ing that are a major pain to kill, and the MP2 space pirate even looks creepy.
My favorite is the MP2 music, followed VERY closely by the MP1 music. The MP2 has a very dark, menacing sound which, while it doesn't sound as good melody-wise compared to MP1, fits in with the game situation better than the MP1 music. The MP1 music is better if you're just listening to it in your freetime.
The MP3 music sounds like the MP1 music with some extra symphony instruments grafted on top of it. I can't stand it, personally.

If you notice look at the regular Space Pirate for Prime 2, then compare it to an Armored Pirate Trooper you will see they look exactly the same sort of.
i playd every prime game and i passed prime 3 only. every time i here this music , i get scard cause they just come up from behind and attack you. also, they run like animals in prime 1.
I would argue the "incredibely smart and resourceful" part, as well as the "state-of-the-art equipment." I've played around with pirates for serveral hours and you can make do VERY idiotic things.
im speaking from a story perspective. i mean, they always attempt to copy samuses technology, they tried it in prime. they always seem to have research labs built on all of the planets they inhabit. Their technology inst as advanced as samuses, but they still made the beam armored pirates from her suit which were a pain in the ass to kill. Plus they made the omega pirate which was a nightmare to fight.
so i guess im wondering how you say they are idiotic?
Some examples(this is with the Zero Mission pirates)
1. Pirates LEAP INTO a Screw Attacking Samus forgettshe is still deadly to the touch.
2. When standing on a ledge just a fraction above a pirates head, it will make no attempt to attack her but will simply keep running into the ledge.
3. One part has you running from a pirate and hiding behind a pillar. If you stand on top of the pillar it will climb up the top, then if you freeze it and stand at the door, it will forget you and get stuck.
oh, i guess were just talking about different things. im talking about metroid prime pirates. oh, and you didnt tell me how their technology is lacking. but whatever.
I ran out of space, that's why. Here is how their technolgy is lacking.
1. Their famous claw gauntlets take a half second to open up, allowing you to quickly get a shot it, usually killing them.
2. When that they find equipment you can use, they have no idea what to do with it.
3. While they did suceed in reverse-engineering beam weapons, they were far weaker than the original, and their Morph Ball tests only crushed the subjects.
4. What ever they create for war usually kills them later.
I am with neither of you. Vador is correct that there smart and ur correct that there dumb. I view them more as cluesess or un-imanginative. Smart though. And in some weapon fields they advance more in, take MetaRidley or the Omega Pirate for example. And when u say how u can freeze them then they forget u well that is a game if it was real life then they would pry go after u.
MP1 My fave because it was the fst time since OoT since Ive had My mind blown & MP3 is 2nd because it was the first to introduce the ultra cinema & voice over to the game but MP2 was absolutely amazing with mew abilities & introducing the most incredible suites bumped up difficulty.
I Love the entire saga & cannot wait 4 the next saga to come out.
Samus's suit, which was built speciafically for her, can be described as a sort of second skin for her, as it melds with her physically and mentally. Her genetic code is prevalent throughout it and if someone else where to wear it, it would reject them. By stealing her suit, thus Metroid Prime obtained her DNA as well, changing its physiology. Whether it was a girl previously is up for argument.

DARK SAMUS DID NOT COPY SAMUS's DNA! In echoes samus goes to Aether wich has a light and ark side. so any Light being that goes to Aether gets a dark copy. Any dark being that goes to Aether gets a light copy.
That is EMPHATICALLY not true. Aether's dark light spilt came from the fragilty of the planet's dimensionality when the Leviathan crashed into it. The Ing are not Evil Luminoth but are actually Phaz-Ing that hitchhiked on the Leviathan and turned Dark with the atmosphere. And at the end of Metroid Prime(the game), you clearly see the dying creature steal Samus's Phazon Suit, and if you got the 100% ending, you see Dark Samus climb out of the puddle. I've talked to a Retro employee about this.
Thanks. I'm just saying what I've learned. The whole Aether dual-clone thing is a pretty common misconception (I used to believed it too) and the actual explanation about the Phaz-Ing coming via Leviathan is pretty complicated, so don't feel bad.
Why don't you try playing the harder difficulties of MP1? It explains how Metroid Prime, after taking away Samus's Uber L33t suit, evolves into Dark Samus.
nay, prime 3s had the best because of all the different suit designs. and heres what i think about each theme Prime: best suited to caves and corridors in their base and stuff very fitting. Echoes: almost sounds spacey, like your fighting them on some large space station. Corruption: since most pirates arent fought in specific respawns (except on your first way through a new place), the dramatic music fits them

MP2 Space Pirates looked like elite soldiers, that could rip your head off just as easily as they could blast your head off.
MP3 Space Pirates looked like a bunch of radioactive insect clowns.

I remember renting the first Metroid Prime when I was seventeen. It was very atmospheric, but not scary.

My favorite is the MP2 music, followed VERY closely by the MP1 music. The MP2 has a very dark, menacing sound which, while it doesn't sound as good melody-wise compared to MP1, fits in with the game situation better than the MP1 music. The MP1 music is better if you're just listening to it in your freetime.
The MP3 music sounds like the MP1 music with some extra symphony instruments grafted on top of it. I can't stand it, personally.

If you notice look at the regular Space Pirate for Prime 2, then compare it to an Armored Pirate Trooper you will see they look exactly the same sort of.

1.MP1-It just works. Perfect theme for an ambush, you got those "dashing sounds"
2.MP3 Decent remix, in fact I'd go as far to say that they put the original in there. Return of the "dashing"
3.MP2 It's an okay mix. I like it, but not as much as the others.

the space pirates are awesome!
1. kick ass theme music
2. incredibly smart and recousceful
3. always mutating shit with phazon
4. always have the latest state of the art equipment
5. their leader is a mechanical dragon named ridely.. cmon, cant beat that.
6. in groups greater then 5 they scare the shit out of you!
7. they play with energy leaches "metroids"
8. they leave logs that use way to big of words to get their point across.

I would argue the "incredibely smart and resourceful" part, as well as the "state-of-the-art equipment." I've played around with pirates for serveral hours and you can make do VERY idiotic things.

im speaking from a story perspective. i mean, they always attempt to copy samuses technology, they tried it in prime. they always seem to have research labs built on all of the planets they inhabit. Their technology inst as advanced as samuses, but they still made the beam armored pirates from her suit which were a pain in the ass to kill. Plus they made the omega pirate which was a nightmare to fight.
so i guess im wondering how you say they are idiotic?

Some examples(this is with the Zero Mission pirates)
1. Pirates LEAP INTO a Screw Attacking Samus forgettshe is still deadly to the touch.
2. When standing on a ledge just a fraction above a pirates head, it will make no attempt to attack her but will simply keep running into the ledge.
3. One part has you running from a pirate and hiding behind a pillar. If you stand on top of the pillar it will climb up the top, then if you freeze it and stand at the door, it will forget you and get stuck.

I ran out of space, that's why. Here is how their technolgy is lacking.
1. Their famous claw gauntlets take a half second to open up, allowing you to quickly get a shot it, usually killing them.
2. When that they find equipment you can use, they have no idea what to do with it.
3. While they did suceed in reverse-engineering beam weapons, they were far weaker than the original, and their Morph Ball tests only crushed the subjects.
4. What ever they create for war usually kills them later.

I am with neither of you. Vador is correct that there smart and ur correct that there dumb. I view them more as cluesess or un-imanginative. Smart though. And in some weapon fields they advance more in, take MetaRidley or the Omega Pirate for example. And when u say how u can freeze them then they forget u well that is a game if it was real life then they would pry go after u.

MP1 My fave because it was the fst time since OoT since Ive had My mind blown & MP3 is 2nd because it was the first to introduce the ultra cinema & voice over to the game but MP2 was absolutely amazing with mew abilities & introducing the most incredible suites bumped up difficulty.
I Love the entire saga & cannot wait 4 the next saga to come out.

Prime 1: sounds like a raid or storming an enemy fortress and you've been spotted.
Prime 2: sounds like full-out trench warfare.

Samus's suit, which was built speciafically for her, can be described as a sort of second skin for her, as it melds with her physically and mentally. Her genetic code is prevalent throughout it and if someone else where to wear it, it would reject them. By stealing her suit, thus Metroid Prime obtained her DNA as well, changing its physiology. Whether it was a girl previously is up for argument.

DARK SAMUS DID NOT COPY SAMUS's DNA! In echoes samus goes to Aether wich has a light and ark side. so any Light being that goes to Aether gets a dark copy. Any dark being that goes to Aether gets a light copy.

That is EMPHATICALLY not true. Aether's dark light spilt came from the fragilty of the planet's dimensionality when the Leviathan crashed into it. The Ing are not Evil Luminoth but are actually Phaz-Ing that hitchhiked on the Leviathan and turned Dark with the atmosphere. And at the end of Metroid Prime(the game), you clearly see the dying creature steal Samus's Phazon Suit, and if you got the 100% ending, you see Dark Samus climb out of the puddle. I've talked to a Retro employee about this.

Thanks. I'm just saying what I've learned. The whole Aether dual-clone thing is a pretty common misconception (I used to believed it too) and the actual explanation about the Phaz-Ing coming via Leviathan is pretty complicated, so don't feel bad.

nay, prime 3s had the best because of all the different suit designs. and heres what i think about each theme Prime: best suited to caves and corridors in their base and stuff very fitting. Echoes: almost sounds spacey, like your fighting them on some large space station. Corruption: since most pirates arent fought in specific respawns (except on your first way through a new place), the dramatic music fits them
