I love the Missa de Angelis. It is so full of heavenly vibe that makes me feel like I have been taken away from Earth to Heaven when I hear this sung in a Mass.
Nonostante che Papa Benedetto XVI avesse incoraggiato il ritorno del latino e del Canto Gregoriano nelle celebrazioni religiose, non è successo nulla in questi anni recenti. Giorni fa, a Trento, s'è celebrato un unico funerale per due frati francescani, deceduti a un giorno di distanza l'uno dall'altro: nemmeno un Canto Gregoriano alle esequie! Ascoltare questo canto ci risarcisce per le angustie quotidiane, è come librarsi nel cielo e sentire le nubi palpabili come stuoli di angeli...

¡Que maravilla! es perfecta la interpretación y muy bueno el video. Yo he tenido el privilegio, hace un par de meses de asisitir a una misa en un monasterio, donde se interpretó la misa de Angelis cantada por los monjes, fue una delicia escuchar estos bellos cantos en directo. Too much dissonant and 7ma chords in organ. Better simply harmonic circle and parsimony in use of 7 and diminished chord. Changing chords and changing result, as in other recording.Many gregorian chants with organ, well harmonized in simply way are wonderful.
I think that the choice of chords is unsuitable. changing chords and it will be right and fine. I remember the gregorian chants registered with organs and plain chords by father pellegrino erneti, and the result was fine.The only thing that, in my opinion is wrong is the choice of chords. changing chords change result. I feel too much dissonant chord underlying accompaniment , it does'nt do in old gregorian chant. To much 7ma or dissonant chords are used .

Como Cristiano Católico felicito a los autores de este gran trabajo, por rescatar e insentivar el canto gregoriano, catequizándo liturgicamente a nuestras iglesias que son herederas de este gran patrimonio espiritual medieval.
Estos cantos me traen muchos recuerdos, me encanta la Misa de Angelis, cuando era pequeña mi párroco había formado un coro, éramos 6 o 7 niñas, pero lo hacíamos , divinamente, la gente no creía que éramos nosotras, de tan bien que la cantábamos.
Devo studiarmi un po' la storia della musica. Non avevo idea che una volta fosse in uso un pentagramma di quattro righe. Comunque bellissima esibizione.
@Deisinoful Tetragramma, nella fattispecie, tipico del canto gregoriano/liturgico insino a circa il XVI secolo, ma ci sono ancora attestazioni d'uso di supporti diversi dal pentagramma anche nel XVI sec inoltrato.. In alcuni esemplari di graduali fiamminghi si arriva all'uso del dodecagramma. Anche la musica ha avuto, come tutte le arti liberali, un periodo di ricerca e stabilizzazione di regole fondamentali.

Very well sung Missa de Angelus. This is being sung every Sunday in the Latin Mass celebrated at 3.30 pm in St.Mary Cathedral in Austin Texas. I was a part of this choir for some years.This is a glorious way of participating in the Eucaristic Sacrifice.There are some more Gregorian Masses which are also very wonderful. I pray that these also will be sung in our masses all over the world
Gregorian chant for purists is 9th and 10th century; the Missa de Angelis is 16th century. This does not stop it being wonderful and the other comments are so wonderful. We need the return of Latin with the traditional Mass.
When I was very young, most of my friends of the neighborhood were Catholic. Being Lutheran, I attended both churches often, primarily because I loved going and always will. Learning the Latin songs and Liturgy was extremely simple and readily comprehended!!

It's a wonderful rendition and blend of voices. The organ compliments the voice perfectly.

I understand that most in the congregation need to be led and guided by the organ, without it, the chants tend to go off time and pitch.
I will share this video with church organists. It's a fine example of chant and organ accompaniment. Modern musicians try to harmonise chords with the chants, totally against the modal system and it confuses the people.

Beautiful song except for the organ! I don't know why people keep mixing unnecessary elements into what is a beautiful song all its own, contrasting the sadness of the lone voice with the hopeful sound frequency of the notes.
You have to know that this chant "Ordinarium Missae" may be sung by an assembly, therefore it's necessary to support it with the use of organ in order to keep the tuning.

@vianinigiovanni I have to disagree with you, respectfully. While the organ can be helpful, I would not call it necessary. St. Patrick Church in Columbus Ohio, USA often sings these masses completely acapella, sometimes with organ, and it works and moves nicely either way. For the record, I think the organ accompanying the singing in the video is very nice. But it isn't necessary :-)
This is the setting for the mass at my parish, St. Lawrence the Martyr in Franconia, VA. We do it a bit faster but then again these are ordinary Catholics, not trained singers. Thank you for the video.

@angryseraph It is also good to use to organ to keep a large congregation from slowing down. They will fall in love with the sounds of their voices in a reverberant church.
Likewise, though sadly I doubt these people use the TLM. They have a free-standing, crucifxless altar, with no tabernacle. They wear hooded albs, as opposed to cassock and cotta.
Regardless, their singing is truly beautiful, though we must hope that their talents are one day put to use in the ancient rite.
Im my country we celebrate the complete triditional Latin Mass and it is not only beautiful, the Mass celibrated in this form is the true Mass of our Holy Church and All it teaches. I adore the Mass and am very gifted by Our Bishop that he preforms it with us and for us in Christs name. The Mass in Latin is True and reflects our love and devotion to God our
father. I go to Mass weekly and know it well. The Mass took me only a few weeks of study and prayer and I can partisapate fully.
This is just simply beautiful. We practiced this today but we didn't nearly sound this good. We sang this for a mass but we weren't nearly prepared for this but with practice we will be prepared for the next diocesan event.

Don't you have a District of the Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Sancti Pii X in your country? You could take information and go to their mass, if they celebrate in your town or in the neighborhood.

@Deisinoful Tetragramma, nella fattispecie, tipico del canto gregoriano/liturgico insino a circa il XVI secolo, ma ci sono ancora attestazioni d'uso di supporti diversi dal pentagramma anche nel XVI sec inoltrato.. In alcuni esemplari di graduali fiamminghi si arriva all'uso del dodecagramma. Anche la musica ha avuto, come tutte le arti liberali, un periodo di ricerca e stabilizzazione di regole fondamentali.

Very well sung Missa de Angelus. This is being sung every Sunday in the Latin Mass celebrated at 3.30 pm in St.Mary Cathedral in Austin Texas. I was a part of this choir for some years.This is a glorious way of participating in the Eucaristic Sacrifice.There are some more Gregorian Masses which are also very wonderful. I pray that these also will be sung in our masses all over the world

Gregorian chant for purists is 9th and 10th century; the Missa de Angelis is 16th century. This does not stop it being wonderful and the other comments are so wonderful. We need the return of Latin with the traditional Mass.

When I was very young, most of my friends of the neighborhood were Catholic. Being Lutheran, I attended both churches often, primarily because I loved going and always will. Learning the Latin songs and Liturgy was extremely simple and readily comprehended!!

It's a wonderful rendition and blend of voices. The organ compliments the voice perfectly.

I understand that most in the congregation need to be led and guided by the organ, without it, the chants tend to go off time and pitch.
I will share this video with church organists. It's a fine example of chant and organ accompaniment. Modern musicians try to harmonise chords with the chants, totally against the modal system and it confuses the people.

Beautiful song except for the organ! I don't know why people keep mixing unnecessary elements into what is a beautiful song all its own, contrasting the sadness of the lone voice with the hopeful sound frequency of the notes.

You have to know that this chant "Ordinarium Missae" may be sung by an assembly, therefore it's necessary to support it with the use of organ in order to keep the tuning.

Ma il fascino del Gregoriano risiede nel suo antico sapore monodico e modale.Pertanto risulta esteticamente piu' potente senza il supporto degli accordi ( che ovviamente non esistevano nel medioevo...)
sta alla bravura dei cantori tenere il tono, al massimo ci si puo' aiutare con un bordone, che è un tantino piu' "filologico".

@vianinigiovanni I have to disagree with you, respectfully. While the organ can be helpful, I would not call it necessary. St. Patrick Church in Columbus Ohio, USA often sings these masses completely acapella, sometimes with organ, and it works and moves nicely either way. For the record, I think the organ accompanying the singing in the video is very nice. But it isn't necessary :-)

This is the setting for the mass at my parish, St. Lawrence the Martyr in Franconia, VA. We do it a bit faster but then again these are ordinary Catholics, not trained singers. Thank you for the video.

@angryseraph It is also good to use to organ to keep a large congregation from slowing down. They will fall in love with the sounds of their voices in a reverberant church.

Likewise, though sadly I doubt these people use the TLM. They have a free-standing, crucifxless altar, with no tabernacle. They wear hooded albs, as opposed to cassock and cotta.
Regardless, their singing is truly beautiful, though we must hope that their talents are one day put to use in the ancient rite.

Im my country we celebrate the complete triditional Latin Mass and it is not only beautiful, the Mass celibrated in this form is the true Mass of our Holy Church and All it teaches. I adore the Mass and am very gifted by Our Bishop that he preforms it with us and for us in Christs name. The Mass in Latin is True and reflects our love and devotion to God our
father. I go to Mass weekly and know it well. The Mass took me only a few weeks of study and prayer and I can partisapate fully.

This is just simply beautiful. We practiced this today but we didn't nearly sound this good. We sang this for a mass but we weren't nearly prepared for this but with practice we will be prepared for the next diocesan event.

Yes he can but he won't; he already had opposition when he signed the Summorum Pontificum. Too many bishops who disobey, here in my country we can't receive Holy communion in the mouth but must do so in the hands because of "disease" what rubbish!! and what lack of faith!

Don't you have a District of the Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Sancti Pii X in your country? You could take information and go to their mass, if they celebrate in your town or in the neighborhood.
