@TheHandOfKane Well, that is true. Damn! Ya kinda got me there! lol I did think the English dub of Slayers was better than the Japanese version. The voices fit the characters better. I guess it's more I don't like it when the voice feels forced (like the English Osaka) it lessens the fun of the anime (for me anyway). I find myself having to seek out the Japanese versions or wanting to turn the anime off when I hear the forced voice... or watch it on mute w/CC on lol.

Also, some shows that rely on jokes usually won't translate, it's simple language and cultural barriers, not really that the dubbing is bad, nor is it the fault of the dubbers, unless they really did cast just plain terrible actors.

@mikiwink You obviously haven't watched Cromartie High School with english dub then, as its english dub is far superior to the japanese one. Azumanga is also one of those animes that have good english dub, both acting and script-wise.
