  • Charlie married an incredible ELEVEN times!!

  • Great clip. Charlie Barnet one of my favourites. Who's the singer great voice.

  • OMG, great vocalist... who is him??

  • Great orchestra and a great vocalist !

  • amazing teeth

  • The Billy Eckstine (the best male vocalist there ever was or will be) version is far better.

  • The best v ersion ever is by Sir Julian. It's instrumental, no vocals features best Hammond organ ever. I never even knew this song had words.

  • Hi , thanks for your comments , the first version was made by mr Juan TIZOL cause it was the compositor with mr ELLINGTON with no vocals ! You have an excellent Nat King COLE version ( vocal ) in 1954 with mr TIZOL & an other instrumental with the three suns in 1963 , very difficult to find but one of the best , I think & many , many more !!! Thanks again , NICKY .

  • I play the organ myself, though not very well. This is one of my favorite songs to TRY to play, but for my skill level it's pretty tough. A lot of weird chord changes. I do have the Three Suns version. It was put out on an "Exotica" compilation a few years ago. I like the Three Suns--weird stuff, but good. On my iPod, I made a play list just of Caravan and there must be 20 different versions of it just on that list. I guess everybody did this song, but I never heard it w. vocals.

  • Also, check out the John Buzon Trio's version. On their album "Inferno". More really cool organ stuff. I don't know if Inferno ever came out on CD, coz I only have the LP album.

  • Hi , I got the john Buzon 's album ( inferno ) , the "space age pop " was wonderful !!! Have you heard the Ralph MARTERIE 's version of caravan ??? Thanks again , NICKY .

  • Wow, I'm not familiar with this version of Caravan--and it is really pretty cool. There are some precursors here to his slightly later group when he recorded for Capitol in 1949 (some of the rhythm section parts, some of the tutti brass in the beginning). Very, very nice voice, too. Thanks for such a wonderful post!
