@Nsanity111 Well previously you would regard 60fps as the optimal fps for the best 'smoothness', but because it's alternating frames, it effectively halves your fps that you appear to see. So at 120fps it would appear as smooth as 60fps. If you were running at 60fps it would appear as 30fps which is quite choppy. Really around 100-120fps is what you will want though.

My GTS250 was decent in wow in normal mode, a GTX 460 is definetly very interesting in alot of game. you might need to tone down some setting but it definetly worth it. I now run a gtx560 and it's definetly rock.
So buying this for my setup. But how will a GTX 460 1GB perform using the 3D? That is the card I plan on getting, unless it works terribly, my resolution for my screen is 1680x1050 if that helps

3D is old technology, I guess people forgot its been around for over half a decade, yet everyone seems to be into it. I give 3D another year or so until it fades...

That technology has all it's expence in the Projector, Not the glasses. You will need a 3D tv for the High refresh rate, at lease 120htz and a pair of active shutter glasses that cost about £120 a pair. Technology using the glasses you have will be comming into the home (cinema now) but is apparently not as good as the currently available active shutter type.
You don't need to be running 120 FPS for 3D-Vision....
That would be a bit ridiculous of a requirement... That would basically just limit you to old games, even with Nvidia's "Recommended" system requirements.

@dushikorsou1 shutter glasses are already over 20 years old. the glasses themselves have sadly actualy increased in price since nvidia locked out other manufactures on their hardware. in 2003 i had a pair of 3d shutter glasses that only cost me 40 bucks (they were retail 60 bucks i got them on ebay) and they worked on a crt monitor up to 200 hz (maybe more) and they worked with nvidia hardware and the origional nvidia 3dvision software. nvidia locked out other manufacturers and the price jumped.
well i guess theres really no way to tell if its worth the money until you've seen what its like, and theres no way for me to see what it's like so....meh
all games are full screen! the video is just a demo video. I have this now and it's awesome! I think I have probably played all my old games over again just beacuse of the 3D effect. It's like playing them again for the first time, nothing anyone can say can truly describe the feeling... you need to use it to see!!
add another 40% to any games score just because of the 3D thats how I rate itl!! The addition for pluging into new 3D tv's is also a great bonus for the future

I want 3D but worry about, standard, (Betamax vs VHS, Blu-ray vs HD-DVD), don't want to spend a load, (any more than £55 for me), to find I have to dump it in 6 months.
All I would say is be carefull of your system spec! If your pc is comparable to a £1000 pc now (just the base) then go for it, lesser systems might strugle with the framerate. I bought a new pc about 6 mths ago it cost £1140 and runs them sweet as. If your system is not upto scratch you may have to drop resolution and/or quality settings to make it smooth game play.

Hey, im a bit unsure, did you mention about it.. The 3D Stereo drivers are for the NVIDIA grapchis cards (pretty much ofcourse), not for the 3D Glasses. ..which is meaning, that Nvidia is giving the support only for Nvidia graphics cards, those are not working with the ATi graphics cards (Too bad, im out of the game, but my brother has them)
What I guess, also 120hz(or over) TFT-televisions does the same job. Real 3D with huge screen. Just for an idea for somebody who got more money than me...

@tyberzann00 100Hz should be fine, you need around 120Hz because it only displays half the frames, on a 60hz tv you can imagine it';s gona be very laggy and noticeable as each frame changes. Like he said you'll see a blank and then frame, but at 30Hz in 3d you're eyes would get really tired I'd assume.

@dushikorsou1 shutter glasses are already over 20 years old. the glasses themselves have sadly actualy increased in price since nvidia locked out other manufactures on their hardware. in 2003 i had a pair of 3d shutter glasses that only cost me 40 bucks (they were retail 60 bucks i got them on ebay) and they worked on a crt monitor up to 200 hz (maybe more) and they worked with nvidia hardware and the origional nvidia 3dvision software. nvidia locked out other manufacturers and the price jumped.

all games are full screen! the video is just a demo video. I have this now and it's awesome! I think I have probably played all my old games over again just beacuse of the 3D effect. It's like playing them again for the first time, nothing anyone can say can truly describe the feeling... you need to use it to see!!
add another 40% to any games score just because of the 3D thats how I rate itl!! The addition for pluging into new 3D tv's is also a great bonus for the future

I want 3D but worry about, standard, (Betamax vs VHS, Blu-ray vs HD-DVD), don't want to spend a load, (any more than £55 for me), to find I have to dump it in 6 months.

All I would say is be carefull of your system spec! If your pc is comparable to a £1000 pc now (just the base) then go for it, lesser systems might strugle with the framerate. I bought a new pc about 6 mths ago it cost £1140 and runs them sweet as. If your system is not upto scratch you may have to drop resolution and/or quality settings to make it smooth game play.

a £2000 rig would be perfect for 3D but not esential for 3D gaming. as with all high end PC gaming it's exspencive. I have a..
I7 quad core.
6GB of DDR3 ram
GTS 450
Windows 7 64bit
You can but this sort of setup for around £1000 max.
Then the 3D glasses and monitor.
I have the samsung 120hz monitor with the above and it's fine. I do have to lower the settings on some of the pc only DX11 games but the 3D effect makes up for it 10 fold.
Costly I know but I think it's worth it :)

Hey, im a bit unsure, did you mention about it.. The 3D Stereo drivers are for the NVIDIA grapchis cards (pretty much ofcourse), not for the 3D Glasses. ..which is meaning, that Nvidia is giving the support only for Nvidia graphics cards, those are not working with the ATi graphics cards (Too bad, im out of the game, but my brother has them)

What I guess, also 120hz(or over) TFT-televisions does the same job. Real 3D with huge screen. Just for an idea for somebody who got more money than me...

@tyberzann00 100Hz should be fine, you need around 120Hz because it only displays half the frames, on a 60hz tv you can imagine it';s gona be very laggy and noticeable as each frame changes. Like he said you'll see a blank and then frame, but at 30Hz in 3d you're eyes would get really tired I'd assume.
