ROFL!!! Those Mama's Family skits were terrific. I'm surprised the security guards didn't kick them all out though. I moonlight as a security guard at a hospital and one evening there was a family of blacks arguing and making a big racket like Mama, Eunice and Ed. We warned them to quieten down 3 times before finally making them leave. LOL I think those Mama's Family skits are a lot more like ordinary families than most people would like to admit....ha ha.

hospital.

I hope the actors and writers of these wonderful shows drop by now and

then and see how greatly appreciated they are.

It was supposed to be a one time skit but it became so popular that they did more. Thank goodness.

I love Eunice, Mama and Ellen. Eunice goes from cool and nice to scalding mad in seconds. Priceless.

I remember seeing this as a kid and I was pretty young to fully understand the dynamic of the skit, but the line about Ed having his head in the toliet made me laugh because Mama said toliet on television and to a child that as balls out hysterical.

Did you notice Mama acts MORE like she does on the later syndicated version of Mama's Family here? She's more lively and spunky here, she does NOT start becoming bitter and hateful until the later Family Sketches.

I'd say she's pretty bitter and hateful here. She gets mightily pissed off when Jack doesn't feel like playing the game she bought him and barks "you never did play with the erector set I gave you when you were ten!" Still angry about something so trivial that happened when Jack was a child? I'd say she's plenty bitter and hateful!
