Beautiful!!! Janette sings the songs of angels....In person, her sweet presence makes her singing even more beautiful!! I love this one. She has her Palms of Victory!!
I'm stunned by her voice. It still sounds as beautiful and earnest as it was in her solo performance of "Bye and Bye" in 1938....16 years old at the time on that XERA radio station. I had no idea until now that how wonderful she really sounds. We love you Janette!
The autoharp she is playing was made by Dr. George Orthey. I was made from a Mulberry tree off the Carter Fold. It was a commerative autoharp for the family. Dr. Orthey said when the wood was all used up there wouldn't be any more Carter Commerative Autoharps made from that wood.
I was honored enough to know Janette for the first 24 years of my life untill she was promoted to glory she is one of my biggest heros an amazing woman and a true music treasure
What a lot of work Janette and Joe did with The Carter Family Fold. They were nice enought to send me their autographs about 6-7 months before they passed.
Must comment on this great piece of footage again. Absolutely amazing.
She was the last surviving child of Sara and A.P. That alone fills me with awe.
