Women naturally have a more maternal instinct in regards to kids, making you wait whilst they coo over them in the street, men dont. Not saying that makes men child killers but I do think makes woman less likely. So I dont just think Myra commited crimes against kids she commited a crime against all woman.
From what I understand, Hindley had applied for parole whenever she was able. This understandably inflamed the families of her victims. On the other hand, Ian Brady wants to die. In my view, it would be justice if he would continue to live in misery until all of the victims families have passed away.
its the fact that its a women and all the more disturbing is that a child would trust a women if she asked them to go with her and would maybe think twice if a strange man asked the same. evil horrible monsters and its about time this country punished people like this properly. stoning to death would be a start and let the families of the victims do it, job done..
The reasoning you made about it being worse because it was a woman; though I understand why people often say this - I find that logic even more disturbing in itself! It's like saying men are more wicked than women by nature - and I don't believe that. Some say: 'where were her motherly instincts'?, one could also say; 'where were his 'fatherly' instincts'? Q.R.D. - same thing... However; both these people were very wicked...
@nd03ltz I totally agree with you - just a couple of things to remember though; the UK has a bad record of sentencing the wrong people... OK; it's pretty obvious in this Case, but unless you have 'selective' laws, you risk killing somebody innocent at sometime or other.. (could be you or I!)
@ilovecollecting i agree, death penalty only if concrete evidence like dna. but with technology these days i wouldnt of thought they would get the wrong person
@nd03ltz i agree and why its disturbing is because they both plotted together and knew themselves they had a better chance of abducting someone if myra was the bait in the trap, so to speak
Whilst I've no time for either of these killers, I do not understand why so much hatred is focused upon Hindley. She was no better or worse than him. If one 'could' be worse than the other, it would have to be him, since it was his hands that actually did the killing. If people want 'justice', then it has to come in all things - even in those we don't like, and not just a selected few. He's hardly ever mentioned these days - yet she still is frequently, yet she's been dead years...
I see the reasoning - but I don't think a person's gender should come into it; someone being regarded as 'worse' than someone else - simply because of their sex... We might as well be saying we 'expect' this kind of behaviour from men - because they are 'men'... See what I mean? Sounds ridiculous.

l think it was her gender and the time of the crimes, the sixties,it was unheard of a woman being involved in such crimes.
