I wrote a short review of Ecstasy when it came out and I remember it included the words "You need no acid or ecstasy as visions of the whirling dervishes spin you round and around". Nevertheless, for many I think it is worth experimenting with some drugs, as long as you see it as just one view of reality or as a taste of what you can do and see without drugs.

holy crap! I've never heard this one either, but i like it! Great band! It'd be nice if hey had a reunion tour and then came to Detroit where I'm from. The bands that preceded the whole 90's explosion were the real innovators like MBV, Pixies, Sonic Youth, even Guns And Roses! Too bad they don't get the credit they deserve. But that's just because the world sucks that way.

Just curious... do you think Kevin Shields/MBV weren't using ecstasy, acid, and or other drugs when they were creating their "original artistic intent" back in the late 80's early 90's? What about The Beatles "Revolver", or Velvet Underground, Jimi Hendrix, Pet Sounds, etc

Not saying you (or anyone else) should take anything, but let's not presume to know the intent of these artists or their state of mind in the creative process.
