@XjohnfishX Might be pushing it a little bit. I would probably want a little more level for a gig situation. Depends on how loud the bass is and how hard the drummer hit's those skins.
@XjohnfishX Unless you are going through a 8x10 speaker cab then i would suggest miking up the amp and going through a PA system to be safe. that way it's easier to control the volume
i got this amp a while ago, and liked it's sound very much. but wen i took it out on a gig, i noticed it sounded way better turned more than halfway up (wich is LOUD), so i built in a powersoak (just putting a resistor between the amp and the speaker with a switch to bypass it) and it now also sounds awesome at low volumes! definately try it out, really easy to do. maybe i'll post a vid of the mod.
I'm considering buying one of these amps... 1:Is it worth the money, and 2:how do you think it'd work with my Arbiter Fuzzface... thank you for any help you can provide, and also great playing!
Thanks for the kind words! I would say it is worth the money, but Crush 15R is better value if you don't need the Volume level and foot switching. I use my 30R with a Big Muff and it sounds great. so should sound decent enough with an Arbiter Fuzzface in front.
can I just ask something? Well you see I found that this amp needs to have the level turned full way to get a good distorted sound, I mean for heavy rock, not blues. Is this normal? Also, the gain needs to be very high for this too.
Yeah, you need to crank it for a more heavy sound. Think it's more of a blues amp. I would suggest sticking a pedal in front for the heavy stuff. Something like a EHX Metal Muff, a Boss Metal Zone, or a Behringer HM-300 Heavy Metal is only £20 if money is tight.
I actually agree lol it just depends on ur influences i guess LOL most of the riffs i make up sound like they were made by metallica so i understand u
No, a foot switch doesn't come with it. I think any latched switch will do it. Orange make one but state it's not for the crush range. Looks nice so a bit of a shame that, but it does cost £30 so is expensive for what it is.
On the Orange Crush 30R.... yes it is foot switchable. The jack input sits next to the Line Out on the top panel. The smaller models in the range (10 and 15) as far as I know don't feature a foot switch input.
It's just something I made up. I use it when testing new guitars and as a finger warm-up exercise as it makes use of most of the neck length.
Yes, the Orange is a great little amp for Blues and Rock. It has a very warm, classic sound. If you after a traditional solid state practice amp that has a great sound all of it's own without trying to emulate other amps, for the money, it's superb.
a lefty sunburst Les Paul and an Orange amp at the background.
Can a set up look more classy than that?

@BrunoLS94
Well it could be a Gibson rather than an Epiphone and a Rockerverb 50 rather than a Crush 30.........

could this handle a small gig? playing over a drummer and bassist without having to mic or put it through the PA or another amp?

Reminded me of system of a down but i could be way off.

It sounds like Hypnotize by System of a down, but it's not really it.

I´m thinking buying this amp and an boss OD-20 Drive Zone pedal, what do you think?
Barbot1991 2 years ago
I'm guessing it doesnt come with the footswitch. So is there a particular type of footswitch or are there a bunch of pedals to choose from?

The orange foot switch is incompatible with the crush range? That doesn't make sense.
Your tune kinda sounds like system of a down
GrimKage 2 years ago
Yeah, bit odd isn't it. Copied this off their web site about the FS1 footswitch:
'Tough Steel Casing with LED indicator. For use on AD30TC, Rockerverb 50 and 100, Rocker 30, Thunderverb 50 and 200. Not for use with Crush range.'

Thanks for the info, I was this close to purchasing it! lol

is that the vintage cherry sunburst?? i cant decide whether its like the gibson les paul standard or like "too orangy"
snakkajak 2 years ago
Yep, it's the Vintage cherry and I think it is slightly more orange than the gibson, but we will see how it ages!!!

Way to go lefty! I'm a south paw as well. That amp is amazing at blues. I own one as well and it was never failed me. Very well built.

It's just something I mess about with. I use it as a finger warm up exercise. I have no idea if it is a song or not, it's just fun to play. ;-)

ah ok^^ still sounds quiet epic ;-)
