and it is because of people like oscar is the reason that a beast like hitler could never provail. There are just too many good people in the world to let this happen.Oscar is a legend.RIP oscar schindler.
The theme music is so beautiful, what a debt we owe to Steven Spielberg for directing this film and reminding us of a great man. How Oscar Schiindler died is not important, what he did for those 1200 Jews will never be forgotten.
He was a great man, who showed his greatness in the world of actions, where it counts the most. He remained a full human being when others let themselves fall below the standard. He for sure has a portion in the next world.
yes, i have thought too sometimes that the Jews didn't do anything for the man who has given everything he had for their lives. But indeed, they couldn't help since they had, after the war, wun their safety and freedom, but not money.
Indeed, that he has even never known by name by next generations is a real shame. I'm relieved that I do know of him is spite I am from one of those ghenerations. And I had thought that such beautiful things must be told more in history courses at school.
you are talking about people, who lost everything in the war and stayed in koncetration camp. do you think they anything at all when they left the completely destroyed Germany? But they where inviting Schindler to thier houses, where he was staying for months
@maliczughaiyir23 Check the Yad Vashem site and inquire more about what the "greedy Jews" as you call them did to help him. Check up on the number of times he visited Israel after the war, how many times he met with his ex-workers there and how they actually brought him to Jerusalem to a Catholic cemetery to be buried. NEVER say they didn't thank him. EVER. No person, Jew or anything else, could turn his back on someone who not once save them from certain death and torture. NEVER FORGET!!!
The Jews he saved did donate to him for the years until his death. You can see this in the documentary about him, Schindler. They kept him afloat through a foundation that paid money to him. He wasn't forgotten by them.
He was staying with some of the jewish families in Israel for months. And he had also money from them, but how much could he have from people just lost everything in the war?
@deanaugust mainly because he lost contact with them all. im sure they would have helped him if he didnt have to flee from us because he was considered a slave labor profiteer. sad what happened to that man though
See above comment: The Jews he saved did donate to him for the years until his death. You can see this in the documentary about him, Schindler. They kept him afloat through a foundation that paid money to him. He wasn't forgotten by them at all.
Que Dios bendiga tu alma y te tenga a su lado con todo su magistrado reino de toda su infinita gloria Oskar. Desde donde estas cuida el resto de los judios q aun no hallan paz en algunas partes del mundo!
They say ALL the NAZI's where bad right? Since Schindler was a NAZI....but he changed. For the better, saved something like 1100 lives i believe, I think he may be the only NAZI with any intentions of saving people. Good thing he had a change of heart. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVENT SEEN SCHINDLERS LIST....YOUR MISSING OUT.
there were actually a lot of Nazi's! but few managed to step up and use the little power they had. It's why the SS were the only ones that were allowed authorisation to the camps and guard them. (also why there was very little recruitment for the SS and why they were all anti-semitic nutters)
Oskar Schindler never had a change of heart. He was raised a Roman Catholic. And though he shared the vices of any man.. He had courage, cunning, and most of all a conscience.
what a REAL man! Compassion, understanding and love ruled his conscience. i want to be like him in so many ways. God help me to be an oscar shindler of my day, to help lost and rejected people find the real reason for existence- to serve Jesus Christ in the most humble and purest form. You died for me- now I will live for you.

I still do not understand why he seems to be a "forgotten"man after the war. Why didnt any Jewish people he saved, help him financially ???????????

@deanaugust
watch the Schindler's list and you will see why they couldn't help him
the government took away everything
I'm sure the Jew's would of helped him but he died not even a cent to he's name
I'm assuming he would already knew it would work out the way it did
never the less he was 66 years old when he did die

You'd think 10 or 20 of those 1200 Jews could have been his benefactor, in his aging years, hm? Disgusting. i am jewish blood on one side.
fuhmeregan 2 years ago 2
yeah I always thought that too, I'm sure atleast 20 of the 1200 did fairly well. each donate 100$ a month for doing so much to save their lives..

Yeah whatever!! Like the millions of other Catholics that did nothing to stop Hitler.
Franz Von Papen and the Pope himself were the first two Catholics friends of Hitler.
