@coramonster What about Egyptian saidi dance? That folk dance has always used cane, and its very common for Egyptian bellydancers to incorporate saidi moves and music into bellydance, and is very prevalent among westerners who learn from egyptian style. It has nothing to do with western vaudeville.

Они так говорят, потому что у нас не беллиданс, а либо балет, либо русская размашистость в танце. А восточный танец, женственный, артистичный и утонченный, а так же имеет просто восточный колорит, который в русских школах беллиданса, к сожалению не преподается.
