@BrainRazer Nah I mean, I get what your'e saying but I can't deny God. Too many things have happened to me that prove his existence, If I said I didn't believe in him I'd feel like a hypocrite. I understand that everyone doesn't feel the same way though. And with how many different translations of the bible there are it makes sense that most would find it hard to believe.
@RANAE30 Oh yeah, don't misunderstand me, I believe you when you say 100% believe in a god, I did too when I was a Christian. Don't stop believing, I wish I could believe again but I would be a hypocrite if I said I did.
I don't know...for some reason I don't think a Tom Hanks movie and some book about a painter/architecht born over 1000 years after christ's death disproves his divinity to me. Sorry you lost your faith, but hey that's your personal decision...if your happy with it good for you...but I agree with RANAE30...too much in the world..i have seen to much.
@EmptyBottleTherapies The Tom Hanks movie and book are fiction, haha. I'm a rational thinker, I don't place my faith in fictional book, be it the Bible or The Davinci Code

@EmptyBottleTherapies it's not an opinion faith is blind belief. It's weak to have to have something else justify your existence. It's pretty foolish to assume that someone has lost faith. @EmptyBottleTherapies yeah good one, nothing is true except what you want to believe. Faith happens when understanding is lacking. It must be hard to think in such a small space or maybe you don't like to think. Religion fills in all the holes and is for ppl who don't need challenges

@Rosebunse not really religion starts out with the arrogance that it knows the Truth. So really it's not objective. Maybe I shouldn't use the word "reason". People get hung up on words
@Tab2120 Ok, but doesn't atheism do the same thing? All beliefs come out of the belief that what they think is Truth. If you truly believe something, then you see it as true. Close but no bone. I would definitely say if they made a greatest hits album this would not be in it. This song is great but Modest Mouse has dozens of songs that tower over this.
You are very correct! This song just speaks so much to me. Modest Mouse is the greatest band ever and their greatest song written. I think that should get an award for the best song ever?
@Annamandabella yea Sean;s deal was...he would play Chinaski in Barfly if Hopper directed....but Bukowski has already said that Rourke could do it so....he was great friends with Sean Penn though....but he also liked Rourke a lot as well.....
@theenigmajjames My new favorite drunkard while fictional is Tilda Swinton in 1998s "Julia" I believe I saw one of your other comments about Bukowski videos here on YouTube. I saw that one where he kicks his old lady while laying on a couch giving an Interview. I'm not some stalker though I watched your channel and viewed the Curb clip with Larrys "best friend" Funkhouser! Remember when Jeff banged his sister Bam Bam? Or to Seinfeld with that punchline last season " Your cunts in the sink"? HA
@greybigshark are you serious?? ANyways..Bukowski is reference to Charles Bukowski..one of the all time best authors and poets of an entire generation..go to wikipedia and look him up...his writing is epic and he was well known for being a real championship caliber asshole and drunkard...youtube has some very hilarious vids of Bukowski and his shenanigans..good times man....good times
@theenigmajjames i dunno mang the guy should be my mentor without a girlfriend and getting picked on all the time i just wanna be a drunk asshole. laters bro.
@greybigshark yea...its definitely not hard to succeed in being a drunk asshole....not a very lucrative lifestyle either,,,,,well I guess it worked well for Bukowski....but you see how often someone of his natural talents comes along
Music creates an image, a subtle thought that defines it. And too much of the music played on the radio is all about "Doo, Doo, Do you love me? Doo, Doo, Do I love you?", but that is why this is so awesome. The song is not hateful, nor is it about love. It varies in its specifics making it a complication of complete win. They have perfectly analyzed the Human physiology, and have come out with balls; instead of sucking up to today's standards or music (which are garbage in my opinion).
He didn't use one big word there at all. Like any 5 year old could understand every single word he said. I think you are just retarded. Should have went to school when u had the chance.
g, I thought music was just expression of thought...a way of venting how you feel...dont hate on other peoples music just cause they are pop..who fucking cares. let them do what they do, I fucking hate the shit on the radio, but I'm not going to say Taylor Swift sucks ass..do I like her music? hell no..but thats just me..
i reallt love a few lines in this song but i think when he said that when god takes life hes an indian giver was just fucking hilarious... i used to say that to people when i was a kid lol

Close but no bone. I would definitely say if they made a greatest hits album this would not be in it. This song is great but Modest Mouse has dozens of songs that tower over this.

@jtognazzi if Modest Mouse get a greatest hits album I would be entirely disappointed.

@jtognazzi
You are very correct! This song just speaks so much to me. Modest Mouse is the greatest band ever and their greatest song written. I think that should get an award for the best song ever?

Just saw Dillons interpretation I read Sean Penn wanted to be The Barfly with Frank "Dennis Hopper" Reynols!
Annamandabella 1 year ago

HA

@BigPurple121 whats bukowksi about?
greybigshark 1 year ago
@greybigshark are you serious?? ANyways..Bukowski is reference to Charles Bukowski..one of the all time best authors and poets of an entire generation..go to wikipedia and look him up...his writing is epic and he was well known for being a real championship caliber asshole and drunkard...youtube has some very hilarious vids of Bukowski and his shenanigans..good times man....good times
theenigmajjames 1 year ago
@theenigmajjames i dunno mang the guy should be my mentor without a girlfriend and getting picked on all the time i just wanna be a drunk asshole. laters bro.
greybigshark 1 year ago

Should have went to school when u had the chance.

this song has meaning...songs are crap now.. why cant we have more songs like this?
aaronrocks444 2 years ago 3
because the real music is in adolecent crushes and break-ups. Not in actual life problems and experiences or any sort of meaningful philosophy.

Well music has to compete with youth today... and I hate being an old man in a 17 year old body.

Modest mouse doesn't sing about following the society's life, they sing about real freedom, and real truth, not society's version of the two.
