I agree that you could always find more deductions but an illegal hold is a pretty big flaw on the parallel bars. I'm actually a little surprised that they didn't do as they did with the Russians and Canadians in pairs skating and give duplicate gold medals
@NBN240 During the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics it was discovered that the French Judge had made a blatantly illegal deal with the Russian Federation prior to the Pairs Figure Skating competition- to automatically award a higher score to the Russian pair and a lower score to the Canadian pair, in exchange for the Russian Judge during the Ice Dance competition later that week to award the French Dance pair a higher score over everyone else. You're getting cheating confused with human error.
3:48 what he doesn't understand (and what most don't about this controversy) is that, for most gymnastics routines, you can watch them again and find something else that should have been deducted but wasn't. If you say they should have taken Yang Tae Young's execution deduction, you might as well look at everyone's routines again and take those tenths (cough*vault*cough), so it wouldn't have equaled out.
I don't like when athlets get into controversial judging when they have nothing to do it, putting them in difficult situation. Obvisously the chinese should have been awarded the gold medal, but Hamm can't say he didn't deserve it himself ! The same thing happened in the 2002 winbter Olympics in the pairs competition. This is hard for the athleths to overcome such incident.
