In '92 Clinton was ahead of Bush41 by ~6% and in '96 Clinton was ahead of Dole by ~9%, hardly close.

I have more than enough of a picture of him. Senator Obama is a caring thoughtful man who means the best for this country. Not everything he supports is going to resonate with everyone - not even with me (it's more than obvious with you; you seem to question every portion of his proposal). However, I weigh both the positives and the negatives on the scale of judgement, and since he wants to better the economy, I'm still siding with the positive.
Oh, and I checked into your little claim that he supports Sex-Ed for Kindergarteners, and you're right. Only you left out a little detail - He means for it to be age appropriate. An obvious example of this would be to teach children from Kindergarten thorugh maybe...4th or 5th Grade about inappropriate touching. It may not be wise to you and other Republicans, but it seems that even the Iraqi government is starting to agree with Obama. They don't want us there. It may be unwise to pull our troops out from Iraq when it "seems" that we're making some sort of progress, but it's even more unwise to force our troops in a country that doesn't want us. If we do so, we may end up endangering our troops to a potential uprising by Iraqis against them.

I'm sure you're fine with the way the economy is, but a vast majority of the country, me included (as fairly well as I'm living) believe that this country is in the midst of a recession. You yourself said this.
I believe were in a recession but not a text book recession 2 quarters of negative growth. When gas prices and the minimum wage are about the same I have to say were doing something wrong. The only plan that makes sense to me is to drill more domestically while we develop alternate fuel. Both parties are tripping up the solution with there partisan bull.
We may not be in a "textbook recession", but why is it that we need to wait until that happens to try and restimulate the economy. Believe it or not, a stimulus check of some $600 is not going to help the economy as much as you would like the American people to believe.
We still need legislations passed. We need to change our spending habits, not just for recessions, but for everyday life to keep ourselves from getting into this mess again. We need tax-cuts and more governmental assistance.

I was against going to Iraq and criticized the way the war was fought up until the surge. You may not believe it but the surge is working and because of our actions I believe we owe the Iraqi people every opportunity to live in a stable country before we leave.

The problem isn't that they treat Hillary or McCain poorly they have no problem treating them poorly its that they ignored Obamas past associations until March of this year. If they would have investigated him he never would have gotten the nomination.
The country had a good three months to think things over. With each finding of each scandal, this helped him lose some points. When he was gaining in Pennsylvania, he brought about the "bitter" controversy. This helped him to lose points with blue-collar voters there. When Hillary Clinton claimed that a person from Obama's camp had talks with a Canadian political official about NAFTA, this helped him lose Ohio (this was later found to be false.)
He's made his mistakes, had his scandals, but he always managed a rebound, as did Hillary Clinton. In fact, it's these scandals that have allowed Hillary to go on as long as she did. Had they not surfaced, she would've been out a long time ago.
Now yes, he has had some questionable associations. Every politician has. If every politician were to be investigated, I'm sure 85% at least would've been gone by now. But the American public has shown that these are not the issues that matter.
If they'll be able to support their kids. If they can keep up with the bills. If they can keep their homes or not. IF the can afford another week of groceries. If they'll be able to hold on much longer with the price of gas.
The American Public knows what's at stake. They know that they cannot allow themselves to be distracted by petty scandals and obtrusive findings. The Republicans revel in the findings on Obama throughout this Democratic Campaign. However, the American Public is not allowing these distractions to divert them from the problems that they face. Although the DNC rewarded the delegates with 1/2 a vote, Obama had said that he insisted all of the Florida delegates be seated for Hillary Clinton. He was at the cusp of victory, but he refused to become overbearing. He was a gentleman throughout.

Senator McCain has no clear plan on how to fix America's Economy. He wishes to leave the repairation of the economy to America, basically saying that "it's your problem". While it may seem constrictive, Obama wishes to have a government-run economy that is restabilized. His plan for doing this includes lowering taxes for middle[and lower]-class citizens, ensuring middle-class citizens and working families have tax-breaks, and revoking the tax breaks from wealthy CEOs who don't need them.

I always felt having a president who could reach across party lines was important. Barack has never even tried to reach out to republicans ever so why would I even consider him.

You criticize that Senator Obama is saying that he will pull out troops within the first year of his term, and yet you seem to ignore the fact that Hillary Clinton has also said that she will pull out troops from Iraq. And if I recall correctly, there are only subtle differences with their plans, not nearly substantial enough to make either one stand out on top.
Like I said I'm a democrat but I think pulling out of Iraq will result in the people living there getting butchered. He admitted fairly early in his campaign that he used cocaine. He's talked about it to high schoolers and college students, while explaining why they should avoid going down that path.
There are a lot of people who have used cocaine and other drugs, managed to kick the habit, and have turned their lives around for the better and are making a positive difference in America.

This really does back up what Senator Obama has been talking about - people focusing on the mess, invoking fear and doubt in the American People, trying to distract them from the issues that are truly important. Now, I obviously don't come from your standpoint, so I can't see the importance in all that you're saying.
However, what issue would you really want to focus on when November rolls around and [theoretically] Obama's on the ballot: What his pastor said for 20 yrs., or whether you'll be able to keep your home next month? Some cont reversal legislation that he supported or opposed, or whether or not you can continue to afford to feed your kids? Would you rather put in a republican who will do nothing for the economy, or a democrat who, despite his faults wishes nothing but the best for his country?
Would you rather a person who supports Bush's current taxes breaks for the wealthy, or Obama/Clinton's tax breaks for the middle-class? Would you rather have someone in office who supports the continuation of benefits for big oil, which helps to continue to push gas prices to all-time highs and wants to give drivers a petty 23 dollars during the summer, or would you rather vote for someone who will increase taxes for gas companies and help decrease our dependency on foreign oil?
I was against Bush's tax cuts but repealing them when we're on the verge of a recession is stupid which is McCains stance also. The dems ran there 06 campaigns on lowering gas prices and since they took over congress gas prices have almost doubled the republicans just defeated a bill the dems were proposing that would have raised gas prices even more.
President Bush has vetoed a vast majority of their bills. We need a democrat in the office to allow anything to get done in this country. If we get another Republican, we'll be at a stand-still at BEST for the next 4 years.
You can't allow the house senate and president to all be from the same party thats how we got in trouble in the first place. Switching from all republican to all democrat is just making a bad thing worse.

I think McCain has a better stance on the economy if you compare what they have proposed.

The gas tax cut is to lessen the pain at the pump its not a cure. We need to drill more until we can figure out how to implement our alternate fuels better because currently the fuel from corn is just making food pries higher.
So, revoking tax cuts from companies who have more money than they can spend so you get a small increase in revenue is a bad thing? A very interesting way of thinking.
Out of curiosity, is the Payroll Tax for Social Security what you're talking about? Last time I checked, while that is a tax increase, that helps increase the amount of money used to cover a senior citizen through social security.
In regards to gasoline, the tax-cut offers minimal INITIAL relief. You only get a little over $20.00 back with the plan, and even with that, the gas companies will just raise the prices to compensate for the tax. Plus, with John McCain's plan, the Gas Companies don't even pay the tax, so it's passed over the next group: American Citizens. At least with Hillary's plan the gas companies had to pay the tab.
Also, we don't necessarily need to drill for more oil. If we improve fuel standards in our automobiles and make them more affordable for the average consumer, we'll be able to invest less in foreign oil. Plus, we have reserves that haven't even been used yet. That may help lower gas prices briefly.
Another way to drop gas prices is to further invest in other forms of energy. We already have and use Nuclear, Wind, and Solar energies. We just need to expand these sources further and use them more often. If we make regular use of these energies, the prices for coal and oil will drop significantly as demand goes down. Less demand usually equals lower prices, since there isn't a pressing need to continue manufacturing of that product.
The Bush tax cuts have increased revenue and created new jobs. They went to every one not just the rich. Those tax cuts should be made permanent and more tax cuts should be given to the middle class.
Increasing the cap on social security is a direct tax on the middle class. You don't raise taxes on the middle class when your on the verge of a recession. It would have been ok 5 years ago or maybe 5 yrs from now but not while our economy is struggling.
What he said was that America shouldn't be comfortable talking just to its friends, but we should also be willing to talk to hour enemies.

I have more than enough of a picture of him. Senator Obama is a caring thoughtful man who means the best for this country. An obvious example of this would be to teach children from Kindergarten thorugh maybe...4th or 5th Grade about inappropriate touching. The Book or Revelations states that the Anti-Christ will petition a treaty with Israel so that they will receive protection for seven years. However, at some point during that same 7-year period, that treaty will be broken. Has Obama made any sort of declaration in that regard?

Attacking the clinics isn't were the laws about abortion are made the laws are made in congress and the supreme court and the president appoints the members of the supreme court. He thinks birth control and sex education is a middle ground topic on the issue. Its not. 1.4 million babies are killed in the USA per year. It may be unwise to pull our troops out from Iraq when it "seems" that we're making some sort of progress, but it's even more unwise to force our troops in a country that doesn't want us. I believe were in a recession but not a text book recession 2 quarters of negative growth. When gas prices and the minimum wage are about the same I have to say were doing something wrong. The only plan that makes sense to me is to drill more domestically while we develop alternate fuel. Both parties are tripping up the solution with there partisan bull.

We may not be in a "textbook recession", but why is it that we need to wait until that happens to try and restimulate the economy. Believe it or not, a stimulus check of some $600 is not going to help the economy as much as you would like the American people to believe.
We still need legislations passed. We need to change our spending habits, not just for recessions, but for everyday life to keep ourselves from getting into this mess again. We need tax-cuts and more governmental assistance.

The country had a good three months to think things over. With each finding of each scandal, this helped him lose some points. When he was gaining in Pennsylvania, he brought about the "bitter" controversy. This helped him to lose points with blue-collar voters there. When Hillary Clinton claimed that a person from Obama's camp had talks with a Canadian political official about NAFTA, this helped him lose Ohio (this was later found to be false.)

He's made his mistakes, had his scandals, but he always managed a rebound, as did Hillary Clinton. In fact, it's these scandals that have allowed Hillary to go on as long as she did. Had they not surfaced, she would've been out a long time ago.

Although the DNC rewarded the delegates with 1/2 a vote, Obama had said that he insisted all of the Florida delegates be seated for Hillary Clinton. While it may seem constrictive, Obama wishes to have a government-run economy that is restabilized. His plan for doing this includes lowering taxes for middle[and lower]-class citizens, ensuring middle-class citizens and working families have tax-breaks, and revoking the tax breaks from wealthy CEOs who don't need them.

This may be true, but he still is hesitant to revoke the tax-breaks from the CEOs of the big companies, particularly oil companies, who in no way need them and didn't even ask for them, as I've said too many times already.

Revoking tax cuts, doubling the capital gains tax and increasing the cap on social security are all bad idea's during a recession. This will definitely be change you can count on ruining our economy.
The gas tax cut is to lessen the pain at the pump its not a cure. We need to drill more until we can figure out how to implement our alternate fuels better because currently the fuel from corn is just making food pries higher.

In regards to gasoline, the tax-cut offers minimal INITIAL relief. You only get a little over $20.00 back with the plan, and even with that, the gas companies will just raise the prices to compensate for the tax. Plus, with John McCain's plan, the Gas Companies don't even pay the tax, so it's passed over the next group: American Citizens. At least with Hillary's plan the gas companies had to pay the tab.

Also, we don't necessarily need to drill for more oil. If we improve fuel standards in our automobiles and make them more affordable for the average consumer, we'll be able to invest less in foreign oil. Plus, we have reserves that haven't even been used yet. That may help lower gas prices briefly.

Another way to drop gas prices is to further invest in other forms of energy. We already have and use Nuclear, Wind, and Solar energies. We just need to expand these sources further and use them more often. If we make regular use of these energies, the prices for coal and oil will drop significantly as demand goes down. Less demand usually equals lower prices, since there isn't a pressing need to continue manufacturing of that product.

The Bush tax cuts have increased revenue and created new jobs. They went to every one not just the rich. Those tax cuts should be made permanent and more tax cuts should be given to the middle class.
Increasing the cap on social security is a direct tax on the middle class. You don't raise taxes on the middle class when your on the verge of a recession. It would have been ok 5 years ago or maybe 5 yrs from now but not while our economy is struggling.

Hey, I can understand. I've gone off on Hilary supporters - even her base in entirety because of the aggravation that I've expereinced from dealing with some people.
Now don't get me wrong, you're no walk in the park, but you are far more civil than a lot of people I've dealt with.

No I guess I'm not a real democrat I should probably be an independent since I'm willing to look at both sides and pick who I think is better for America. I didn't like Hillary either although she at least gave me the impression she could run the country.

One more thing before I log off. You constantly refer to Obama's supposed racist and sexist comments. You and other [hard core] Hilary Supporters try to label him as a racist through Guilt by Association. However, why is it that Senator Clinton continues to accept the support of White Racist voters? You talk about what would happen if a white politician made racist comments, I believe that accepting racist support is just as bad, if not worse. If you don't believe me, check out my VC.

Exactly my sentiment This is confirmed by Obama's knowledge of attacks on USA in Wright sermons, his comments about being ashamed of being white, blaming his cocaine use on his racial problems, his growing animosity towards whites, and his comments about siding with the Muslims if there was a war with Christians. These are all from Obama's book Dreams of My fahter written years ago. Mike needs to get the book and ask himself some questions as this will all come out in the General Election.

Oh I plan on getting this book, as well as The Audacity of Hope. I also intend to get a different interpretation from it than you two have. The fact that you all just nitpick every small discrepancy in everything he writes and says shows that you all are hypocrites. You say that we need to stop being "sexist" and lay off of Hilary, that we as Obama supporters should stop being so sensitive, and yet you search for every possible excuse to hate Obama, and blow up on us when we criticize Hillary.

When a vast majority of Blacks were voting for Hilary Clinton, you and the rest of her supporters weren't uttering a single complaint. Whenever your candidate is down, you blame everyone who isn't voting for her. You act as if she is so perfect, so holy, so free of sin, that anyone who doesn't support her is a spawn of Satan himself.
Really, you didn't even complain after Iowa, or South Carolina. But the second she started losing ground, y'all started up with this mess.

It wasn't until he won virtually every single Primary and caucus from Alamabma (February 5th) to Hawaii (February 19th) that y'all started complaining about him getting so much of the Black Vote. I've yet to hear Obama complain about the support that she's received. His only gripe about all this is that IF he claims the nomination, how will he get Clinton supporters to be willing to join his campaign come fall.

He embraced Black Theology,Black VALUE system the church is racist on paper with NO pastor necessary. Somesay Obama will be indicted for Mail fraud after Rezko trial. Obama again associated with Puerto Rico Govenor indicted on largest Puerto Rican corruption trail. WHy does Obama always gravitate towards the crooks?
