  • I like where you placed your library and art supplies... very nice!

  • I congratulate you, your work captivated me, I love drawing and painting, and Im always looking for teachers like you to appreciate its tecnicae and inspiration ... Im just 14 years old now , but whenever I can I go to competitions, I won twice and that motivates me to become like you. I love your paintings!! you are so original!!!

  • Hi Cedar, this looks like my dream studio! I am very impressed with your confidence and ability. I found your videos on pricing and canvases very helpful, thanks for making them for us all. I notice that you have some ready made canvases in your studio - do you make the larger ones and use the bought ones for smaller paintings? Dan.

  • @danargyle Yes, pretty much! I purchase pre-made canvases up to about 30"x40" and for anything larger than that I usually build my own because it stops being cost-effective to buy them pre-made at that point. In a pinch I've purchased a few 40"x50" pre-made canvases. You just have to weigh your time against money sometimes. :)

  • @danargyle Thanks! That's exactly what I do, although recently I've bought a few ready-made canvases in larger sizes for convenience (2 young children!) and was pleased with the quality, although it's never the same as making your own. This video is way outdated now--I'm no longer in this studio. I've since moved to California and have yet to set up my new studio! (The sunlight in my new place is amazing!)

  • @RadicalEel That sounds exciting. I bet it's hard to paint with two young children to look after. I hope you can find more time to paint soon, I will look forward to more videos. Good luck with your new studio.

  • Fuck me that's cool-- and daymn u have a hell of a lot of canvases. :)

  • @007phresh Thanks, I have way fewer canvases now compared to when this video was made--turned many of them into paintings since then!

  • Great studio space! Noticed some small windows; what's the ventilation like? I've always found that priming canvases with acrylic gesso sours the air in a hurry.

  • @StarvingPainter The ventilation is not bad, especially when I set up fans. If I have to do something involving lots of fumes I'll usually do that outside. I paint with water-miscible oils (so, no turps) and the fumes aren't too bad.

  • Great studio, lots of space...can't wait til I get mine.

  • So very nice, lucky you...your little one is adorable & your kitty too! So what are you going to paint on that big canvas on your easel?

  • @metaFLICK Check out my video "Cedar Lee Paints Solar Radiance" to see what I painted on that big canvas!

  • Im sure (and hope) it wont stay this clean for long!! Great space - I hope it works for you =D

  • @izaneers Thanks! (It's already messier. LOL!)

  • it is so very nice...very calming space....love the maroon accent wall....that studio is nearly as big as my house right now.... :-P congratulations!

  • @JMMArist Thank you!
