I don't find some options you're using in this version. I'm using After Effects CS4 for Mac and, for example, I don't see the option "Expression Opacity" for creating flicker :(
I used Boris Continuum set of plug-ins for the Film Damage. Not free, I'm afraid.
There's a film damage set of extras in the new Film Wash Vol. 3, which work really nicely. Check out my other vids for details on that. Again, not free - but definitely not expensive :o)
I tried to find some free alternative for you, but the closest I got was some real footage from istockvideo.
Hope you have some luck elsewhere (or buy the Film Wash set!)
Great tutorial actually, love this kind of effect! =)

Always start with an example of the final product. I don't to watch the whole thing when it is not what I want.

Do you know of any good 8mm film look plug-ins for Sony Vegas!?

I recently purchased this package but for Apple Color. Is there a tutorial for that?

@mikekarnell The compositing possibilities are more limited with Color than with AE! Here's the basic idea:
i) Use one of the Film Wash settings as a great starting point. You can combine these if you are on Color V1.5 or above.
ii) You'll have to create a User Shape to mimic the frame of the Super8 vignette.
iii) Use this shape as a vignette and make it black.
iv) There is a way to do scratches in the ColorFX room. It's detailed on our Creative Color Grading training DVD
Email sent. Ben

I know Premiere Pro fairly well but I have no idea how to use after effects.
