If anyone gets a chance to listen to this video we would love comments. Also pass the word around. This is unfair and could happen to anyone. If the zoo mgt is watching this video an apology and new memberships would be a nice start.
thx for the response Bochuckles...... the zoo never learned from the Tiger incident...they still sweep everything under the carpet. It's not even "oh, it's just a membership", we love the animals there and have formed bonds. The reason I called was to let them know someone had been in the bear grotto... As far as I know, that fool could have put something in there. I called, they hung up on me in mid-sentence and the zoo was pissed because when they got there, no action.
It's all about "The Boss's" not wanting "Negative Press" Lee,I guess you needed to "WAIT" Untill the Idiot,Was in the Jaws of one of The Polar Bears. before Putting out The "CODE RED"....I guess they have NOT Learned,From the Tiger Incident...To both of you ladies...I applaud Your Tenacity....are either of you Single ?
@bochuckles Thank you for your comment and compliment. Yes I guess we were supposed to wait until a human idiot was as you say, in the jaws, so then the armed response team could have come and shot one of the Bears. I guess then they would have felt like it was a worthy response ( if you read my blog of details, I was told by Security that "they were mad there was nothing happening when they got there!!!"). Thankfully I say!
@andiecattt- Well I hope that we will find some kind of justice by making this situation public. The public may turn out not to care, I hope I'm wrong, as this is an injustice that can happen to anyone who is a Member or prospective Member. Bottom line in all of it is that we have stayed true to ourselves and our passion for the Zoo Animals.
I am still waiting for a reason my membership was revoked!!! Zoo management and board of directors are still cowardly ignoring us. Their new tactics involve having security follow us throughout the zoo grounds. Hope this venue helps get the word out!!!
Hi ucumari77- Thank you for your comment! Before making this video and the supplement blog public, i did contact a city supervisor, two zoo board members, a park and rec commissioner and the mayor. i got no response. When I made these public today i send the links to all the local tv news stations. We'll see if anyone cares Thank you for you support!.
Sounds like you need to hire a lawyer Kim. Are there any TV stations that help the public with situations like this? Lastly, is the zoo funded by the city? If so go to your rep and let them know.
Really sorry this happened to y'all, hope you can get an apology and your membership back
I am the "Lee" in this.... this whole issue has become so devastating. As someone who was a docent, a guardian, a major enrichments maker for cats and bears, this "taking away of membership" is a major crime. The zoo animals are awesome, please visit them and love them.... some of the keepers are the best of the best. Management there just doesnt like to hear when something negative happens. They don't believe in freedom of speech. Management likes to sweep things under the rug.
Hi Chickrock! Thank you for your comment and support! I apologize for the delaying in reply. I have just made the video public. Yes, it is looking like that is what they are saying, since it has been 3 weeks now and neither of us has received an official letter of reason. If they are goign to go with that, they must answer WHY? Why would we do that? ... I think we are deserving of the same thing! ... Please check out my blog with more details and up to date information. Thankx again!
This is all very curious. It appears to me that the SFZ thinks that you and your friend pulled a prank by reporting a potentially dangerous situation? If I saw someone go over the barriers, I'd be on the phone immediately. Action is better than non-action considering the possibility of injury (or death) to the idiot that hopped into the enclosure, not to mention the animal that had their space invaded. I think you deserve a full apology from the SFZ as well as a lifetime membership.
