First of all, Nunn is considered a top VP choice for Obama. Second, this has nothing to do with getting back for Gramm. McCain was attacked by Obama's campaign for referring to the Czech Republic as "Czechoslovakia". Now Obama's foreign policy adviser and top VP choice says the same thing.

Sam Nunn is old and confused, but at least he's not possibly going to be president.

McCain on the other hand, keeps on getting muddled up (another example: not knowing who Iran is allegedly training) because he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Sam Nunn is a possible Veep choice for Obama, actually. So if it's pertinent for McCain it's pertinent for Nunn. All in all, it's a lot of nothing...I know Czechs who still refer to their land using the old name.
