Roy has small simple tools to find that connecetion to God again. thats the idea of The whole program. At the time of doing this program, I didn't have my head together as good as it is today and in my own opinion of myself, I didn't do a great job. I had fun, though. I prayed long and hard before going on this program, and I had people at home praying for me during the live broadcast, too. God was with me, you can see the peace on my face.

The reason why we're so readily understood by outside sources is because they're nearly all completely objective. Remember my brother John? He would build someone up just to tear them apart worst with his objective insights so that when you fall it's with a great crash. His personality is one that jumps off a bridge.

Roy seemed to be quibbling, splitting hairs. Notice that he did not say what the tape did say. Because it was so close to what she said that he would look silly splitting hairs not worth splitting? That the tape said the exact same thing in different words? Seems like it. Roy, you are reacting with resentment!!

The original prose was "If you have done this exercise properly you won't remember what I've said." I'm such a nut I can't help but remember some of the things he said on the exercise word for word. How ironic. I learned meditation from a guy named Ken Schram long ago in 1984. At that time he was using the Muktananda method. "Om Nama Shivia." Later in 1988 he taught me the Sathia Sai Baba method known as the Giatri mantra. I still use the Giatri. Look it up on you tube, try it out and be happy. Blessings and love to all of you. Namaste
I had the original 6 LP series as well as the cassettes, and remember this was in the early 1980's, he may have modified the exercise to where it doesn't include the post-hypnotic suggestion any longer.

Thanks for your comments. Personally I was not looking for oblivion. I was looking for Truth and a way to deal with life properly. Roy's meditation offered me neither. Even Roy (if he is honest) will admit that there are plenty of people who have the Holy Spirit that don't practice his meditation exercise.

At the time of this broadcast, I was sitting next to the man who 'rescued' me from Roy, then took me for himself. He exacted his authority over me with violence. I stayed with him for 20 years out of obedience because I thought that's what a woman of God is supposed to do. He's in a nursing home now, and I am happy and free. I don't believe in the 'end times' by the way. It's religious concept that prompts people to just give up and exect the world to end.
i like roy though, he says a lot of truth, but i don't use his meditation. i even once was driving through grants pass and stopped by his ranch for half an hour a few years back on the way to the coast.
I've discovered why it's very difficult to condem roy , because he's a jew and jews are not stupid , I would like to add that this woman has revealed a pre-existing contempt for meditations and other such things, and so it becomes clear that automaticaly destroyed her perceptions of what was supposed to take place.

This woman is lying. The meditation is available for free on the FHU web site. Also, the transcription of the meditation tape can be found in "how your mind can keep you well". The recording does not contain the words she claims he speaks. Go to the site and see for yourselves. She is clearly an angry person. The meditation instructs people to give up anger, I guess she wasn't ready to do that and felt so threatened by the suggestion that she is attacking Roy.
The human mind is like a cyclone or a hurricane. When people are unbalanced their soul, which is supposed to reside in the calm eye of that hurricane, get's caught up in the thoughts and emotions that swirl around. The further out one goes the more troubled the life becomes. The observation technique is nothing more than bringing a person back to the calm eye. Instead of being caught up in their thoughts people observe them.
The meditation is available fre at the FHU web site. Her claims about it are complete fabrications. One can find out for themselves by doing it. The meditation is a technique to lead a person to a place where they can be objective to their thoughts and separate from them. It is as if our minds are like the winds in a hurricane and our soul is supposed to be at the calm eye. When we get caught up in our thoughts our souls wanders from the eye and is tossed about in the vortex.
The world cannot stand to be exposed and those that live in it incorrectly fear exposure even more. Each one of us is the enemy and your work is really cut out for you. Waste no time in seeking out whatever will help you find truth and try to spend as little time on telling people what it isnt. Everything that happens to a person as they journey is not an accident, but an (in)vitation to visit the (in)side. Until you accept, the outside will rule and then lead you to death. Make haste !!

Masters is the one who is lying here. I am quoting from his original meditation instruction, the one that is contained on 6 LP set he used to sell. i would occasionally 'refresh' my ability to meditate by using the tapes or the LP's, which he said was ok to do. I happend to retain the ability to remember some of the things he said on them.
At 1:26 where the lady quotes in the meditation, 'you won't remember what I've just told you' is not correct. He says try not to remember the exercise mechanically.
Yes, and this is because the meditation won't be effective it becomes like a very long mantra. The object of the meditation is to bring a person out of their thoughts and into the moment. One has to be aware in order to be in the moment. When things are mechanical and automatic it is the opposite of awareness.His meditation is the exact opposite of a mantra. He also recommends that people stop using the tape and meditate without it at some point.
Roy appeals to people's intellect and he coins pithy phrases like 'reaction causes resentment' as part of a description, you should judge is true by comparing it to events in your own life.
Some people have no intellect: and thus instead of engaging (ie thinking for themselves), they just listen and enter a trance-like state because they're trying to off-load their adult responsibilities on Roy. Roy has interesting observations. Idiots picture him as a father-figure.

The problem here is some people turn the meditation into a hynotic event, Some people seem to want to put their faith in Roy instead of God. This misplaced faith will lead to many problems. The meditation is merely an exercise to allow a person to turn the volume down in ones head so he might here the voice of God. Satan is screaming at you, God speaks with a soft voice. you must be still to hear it. I have listened to Roy for many years, but am neither a member or a follower.
Roy Masters admits to the hypnotic aspect of the meditation. He uses the 'coin of the realm' principle for justification, as if buying a slave and setting the slave free. In other words it's ok for him to take control of your mind for a time because he knows what he is doing. no doubt about that. however for many the freedom never comes, even after years and years of following Roy. I have seen the damaging effects of this.
$cientology uses the same type of meditation mind control but done the way they do it is more powerful. They call it TRs(Training Routines)or communication courses.
The minds like a muscle the more you train it at something the stronger it becomes. If you constantly meditate and zone out of the world you'll become a disconnected individual.

Get Real, Meditation is something I took up after going through a horrible experience . People with weak minds, I suppose anything can happen. Your mind plays tricks on you when you turn out the lights. This is why lots of people cannot sleep at night because a lot on there mind. However, meditation is a process of teaching you how to not let this effect your ability to sleep, stress etc. You are in control of where your mind takes you. This lady had problems before she started meditating.

We have a great conscious contact with God and grow spiritually every day. We are not tied to anyone. No gurus. Churches. No Religious doctrine. We have fantastic, well adjusted free, healthy & happy lives. So where does THAT put the "meditation" he teaches? Why did it "ruin" your life enhance mine?

Masters admits that his meditation has an element of hypnosis and that there is a transference of control of the mind to him, but he justifies it by saying you're already hypnotized anyway, so just hand your mind over to him and then at some point you'll get your mind back all neat and tidy and de-hypnotized. hi, distressed7: I don't care if Roy is perfect or not, I just don't agree with his ridiculous claim of being "without sin." I don't agree with him re-writing his own version of Jesus' gospel. I don't agree with him hypnotizing people against their will, it's evil. And no, I'm not a liar!! OKAY. Okay. Fine. You have your own experience and ultimately who am I to judge you. I was not there. All I know is that being on the wheel of corporate control his techniques have given me the inner control to forgive and move on.
Roy Masters is a dangerous cult leader. He sucks weak people into his organization by pretending to offer spiritual and psychological help. Ultimately, he lowers their self-esteem; separates them from competing forces, whether that be spouse, parents, or friends; discourages education; and encourages hatred.
Roy Masters reprograms his followers minds with a whole new set of inner thoughts that is perceived by followers as "awareness," or "objectivity." It's pure mind control.
Couldn't have said it better myself. It's nice to hear comments from people who understand this from first-hand experience. It's true that there is something in Roy's teachings that fosters hatred, in the guise of "waking you up" to your hatred. He practically programmed hatred into me that wasn't there in the first place.
You never followed this through properly. It is experientally known by many a mystic that when one cannot realize the futility of that hate, and the absurd world that it is, many return to organized religious carnage. Both of you, just did not get it. Masters is not the only one using this technique. It is older than Constantinian Christianity itself.
Roy Master waves around truths like the value of emotional detachment, yet he himself expresses a great deal of hatred for the world. Furthermore, he spends a great deal of his time bashing women. He thinks they are evil and have no right to enjoy sex--even if they are married.
If that's not enough, during the 1980's Roy Masters regularly encouraged his followers to not only hate their parents but to confront them about it.
Roy Masters discourages his followers from attending college.
I think meditation is powerful and Roy's technique is great. He says people can come to the same place through other means.
I have heard Roy say that hate is a sin so I disagree that he encourages it. He feels that only with God's grace can you repent- you have no power to will it on your own.
I hope his views on woman and sex have moderated over the years- I see him as calmer and more accepting now- far less the instigator than on this tape.

Regarding education. One cannot attend college and not grow. You learn, you grow. It's a win-win situation. Roy Masters discourages education because it's much harder for him to control people who are educated.

I was not lying here. My agenda was to warn others about the sham that is Roy Masters' meditation. This was not scripted! And Masters says on his "Sin and Salvation" video right here on YouTube that emotional responses are animalistic, go check it out. No one put me up to this, I was invited togo on this show and would do it again today if I had the chance. I would do a much better job explaining about the hypnotic aspects of the meditation.
I believe Roy said emotions are animalistic. Then why do you think emotions are good? Why do you think living in an emotional state is good and productive? Ask a successful CEO of any company if emotions are good, if using his emotions when making a decision is the wise thing to do. He'll look at you like you're crazy. Emotions cloud the thinking, all scientists know that. You cannot make wise decisions if you allow yourself to daydream or are in a daze. We must control our own thoughts.
You don't have to join anything, or even meet Roy Masters, to get deeply programmed and indoctrinated by him. I'm not only speaking for myself, I'm speaking for the many who had similar experiences to mine, but who didn't get to go on TV and talk about it. Actually there were 6 others in the Seattle who woke up about Roy Masters and also had the chance to appear here; no one had the guts but me.
Very weak, you are a liar. If you did the meditation without the tape instead of swinging off Master's jock (I.E. addicted to "his voice") you might find the meditation promotes independent thinking, not hypnotism. It says right in the meditation that one's meditations MUST wane from the tape instead of regarding [him] with grandeur.
I did the meditation for 6 years, and stopped using the tapes and 6 LP record set after a short period because I learned how to do it on my own. Only occasionally I would use the tapes or records as a refresher, as Roy recommended to do. The things I was told not to remember I was able to remember, I simply couldn't help it. I've always had the ability to remember details very clearly.
You stopped following the correct blueprint for meditation, then you were definitely doing your own form of meditation, which put you into a "zoned out" state. How can you possibly blame Roy's meditation when you weren't following it? His meditation clears your mind. You must take control of your own thoughts, that is what meditation really is. It's living and thinking in the here and now. Anything else, fantasy, daydreams, fogging out, zoning out is definitely not Roy but your own concoction.
I really didn't make up my own version of the meditation. In fact, I would occasionally use the tapes and LP record to meditate as a "refresher course" to make sure I was doing it correctly, and Roy used to recommend doing this. I didn't try to zone out, I just couldn't help the fact that the meditation altered my consciousness in the wrong way, and I'm not the only one who had this experience. I couldn't control my thoughts until I stopped the meditation and went straight to Jesus.
When I practiced the meditation in earnest some years back, I only used the tapes long enough to own the observation technique; not giving Mr. Master's voice the chance to "drone on and on". I understood that being caught up w/ someone elses voice defeats the purpose of personal autonomy that's recommended by Roy's teaching.
I'm talking about the 6 LP record set that contains the exercise in it's entirety. I dont know if its even still available. I stopped using the tapes and records at some point, because I knew how to do it without them, but every once in a while (not often) I would use them for a refresher, as Roy recommended to do. Some people, I believe, are more susceptible to the power of Roy's voice. I also trusted Roy so implicitly, I gave myself totally to this practice. My trust was betrayed!!
Roy's meditation gets you into a "meditative" (trance) state. As the mind listens passively in this trance state, Roy drones on an on about "principles that protect the meditative state." He's putting his thoughts into your head. At the end he says be sure you don't remember all this stuff Ive said. You find yourself spouting Royisms thinking its your own original thoughts, when it is in fact, indoctrination by Roy. Get it yet? I know what I'm talking about.
I guess I get it, though I don't see how it destroyed your life, as you appeared healthy & attractive in the audience unlike certain dysfunctional wretches I know personally who were ruined by weak or absent fathers & overbearing mothers.
Nearly 20 years have passed since this show was taped. The Roy geezer may not even be alive much longer.
Because I became a born-again and very grounded and happy Christian after I left the meditation practice. God healed me mentally and spiritually. He gave me the strength to do this show. I'd have been a dysfunctional mess without Him. All the things I tried to find following Roy, I now have following Jesus. No more gurus for me, ever again.
Have you forgiven Roy Masters for the harm you feel he's inflicted on you? I think Jesus would expect as much. I believe he's a fallible human who sincerely tries to help people. I do thank you for posting these shows, as RM appearances on mainstream shows are priceless.
Maybe someone can teach me youtube uploading, as I have a rare Roy Masters as a guest on the Joe Franklyn Show that others may appreciate.
Do tell!! Uploading is very easy. Just keep the clip no more than 10 minutes, or whatever the limit is in MB. ..And yes, you bet, Roy is totally forgiven in my heart. Absolutely. I wish I could meet him again. I'd disarm him with kindness, warmth, and a non-judgemental attitude. I don't have a problem with him as a human being, just his teachings and the hypocrisy I see in him. I don't like the deception about the meditation being intrinsically hypnotic -- that's another whole debate.

I recall that he was once on the Wally George Show in the 80's, which was a complete circus. And there was a segment on Inside Edition (or a similar entertainment magazine show) which covered his daughter in-law's grievances against Roy and divorce from David. Roy didn't speak but Dianne Masters stepped in to defend him for the camera. Never a dull moment.

Roy has small simple tools to find that connecetion to God again. thats the idea of The whole program. How ironic. I learned meditation from a guy named Ken Schram long ago in 1984. At that time he was using the Muktananda method. "Om Nama Shivia." Later in 1988 he taught me the Sathia Sai Baba method known as the Giatri mantra. I still use the Giatri. Look it up on you tube, try it out and be happy. Blessings and love to all of you. Namaste

Thanks for your comments. Personally I was not looking for oblivion. I was looking for Truth and a way to deal with life properly. Roy's meditation offered me neither. At the time of this broadcast, I was sitting next to the man who 'rescued' me from Roy, then took me for himself. He exacted his authority over me with violence. I stayed with him for 20 years out of obedience because I thought that's what a woman of God is supposed to do. He's in a nursing home now, and I am happy and free. I don't believe in the 'end times' by the way. It's religious concept that prompts people to just give up and exect the world to end.

This woman is lying. The meditation is available for free on the FHU web site. Also, the transcription of the meditation tape can be found in "how your mind can keep you well". The recording does not contain the words she claims he speaks. Go to the site and see for yourselves. She is clearly an angry person. The meditation instructs people to give up anger, I guess she wasn't ready to do that and felt so threatened by the suggestion that she is attacking Roy.

The human mind is like a cyclone or a hurricane. When people are unbalanced their soul, which is supposed to reside in the calm eye of that hurricane, get's caught up in the thoughts and emotions that swirl around. The further out one goes the more troubled the life becomes. The observation technique is nothing more than bringing a person back to the calm eye. Instead of being caught up in their thoughts people observe them.

The meditation is available fre at the FHU web site. Her claims about it are complete fabrications. One can find out for themselves by doing it. The meditation is a technique to lead a person to a place where they can be objective to their thoughts and separate from them. It is as if our minds are like the winds in a hurricane and our soul is supposed to be at the calm eye. When we get caught up in our thoughts our souls wanders from the eye and is tossed about in the vortex.

Masters is the one who is lying here. I am quoting from his original meditation instruction, the one that is contained on 6 LP set he used to sell. i would occasionally 'refresh' my ability to meditate by using the tapes or the LP's, which he said was ok to do. I happend to retain the ability to remember some of the things he said on them.

Yes, and this is because the meditation won't be effective it becomes like a very long mantra. The object of the meditation is to bring a person out of their thoughts and into the moment. One has to be aware in order to be in the moment. When things are mechanical and automatic it is the opposite of awareness.His meditation is the exact opposite of a mantra. He also recommends that people stop using the tape and meditate without it at some point.

Roy appeals to people's intellect and he coins pithy phrases like 'reaction causes resentment' as part of a description, you should judge is true by comparing it to events in your own life.
Some people have no intellect: and thus instead of engaging (ie thinking for themselves), they just listen and enter a trance-like state because they're trying to off-load their adult responsibilities on Roy. Roy has interesting observations. Idiots picture him as a father-figure.

The problem here is some people turn the meditation into a hynotic event, Some people seem to want to put their faith in Roy instead of God. This misplaced faith will lead to many problems. The meditation is merely an exercise to allow a person to turn the volume down in ones head so he might here the voice of God. Satan is screaming at you, God speaks with a soft voice. you must be still to hear it. I have listened to Roy for many years, but am neither a member or a follower.

Roy Masters admits to the hypnotic aspect of the meditation. He uses the 'coin of the realm' principle for justification, as if buying a slave and setting the slave free. In other words it's ok for him to take control of your mind for a time because he knows what he is doing. no doubt about that. however for many the freedom never comes, even after years and years of following Roy. I have seen the damaging effects of this.

Get Real, Meditation is something I took up after going through a horrible experience . People with weak minds, I suppose anything can happen. Your mind plays tricks on you when you turn out the lights. This is why lots of people cannot sleep at night because a lot on there mind. However, meditation is a process of teaching you how to not let this effect your ability to sleep, stress etc. You are in control of where your mind takes you. This lady had problems before she started meditating.

One thing before I end this silliness - I have not so much as heard Roys voice in over thirty years. Yet I meditate pretty much the same as he does. Everyday. Even taught my kids how. 11 & 8. We have a great conscious contact with God and grow spiritually every day. We are not tied to anyone. No gurus. Churches. No Religious doctrine. We have fantastic, well adjusted free, healthy & happy lives. So where does THAT put the "meditation" he teaches? Why did it "ruin" your life enhance mine?

It has given me the inner life that is necessary to get rid of false friends, abusive guilt trippers and quite frankly my fearful own self. I think meditation is powerful and Roy's technique is great. He says people can come to the same place through other means.
I have heard Roy say that hate is a sin so I disagree that he encourages it. He feels that only with God's grace can you repent- you have no power to will it on your own.
I hope his views on woman and sex have moderated over the years- I see him as calmer and more accepting now- far less the instigator than on this tape.

Ask a successful CEO of any company if emotions are good, if using his emotions when making a decision is the wise thing to do. He'll look at you like you're crazy. If you did the meditation without the tape instead of swinging off Master's jock (I.E. addicted to "his voice") you might find the meditation promotes independent thinking, not hypnotism. It says right in the meditation that one's meditations MUST wane from the tape instead of regarding [him] with grandeur.

I did the meditation for 6 years, and stopped using the tapes and 6 LP record set after a short period because I learned how to do it on my own. Only occasionally I would use the tapes or records as a refresher, as Roy recommended to do. The things I was told not to remember I was able to remember, I simply couldn't help it. I've always had the ability to remember details very clearly.

You stopped following the correct blueprint for meditation, then you were definitely doing your own form of meditation, which put you into a "zoned out" state. How can you possibly blame Roy's meditation when you weren't following it? His meditation clears your mind. You must take control of your own thoughts, that is what meditation really is. It's living and thinking in the here and now. Anything else, fantasy, daydreams, fogging out, zoning out is definitely not Roy but your own concoction.

I really didn't make up my own version of the meditation. In fact, I would occasionally use the tapes and LP record to meditate as a "refresher course" to make sure I was doing it correctly, and Roy used to recommend doing this. I didn't try to zone out, I just couldn't help the fact that the meditation altered my consciousness in the wrong way, and I'm not the only one who had this experience. I couldn't control my thoughts until I stopped the meditation and went straight to Jesus.

When I practiced the meditation in earnest some years back, I only used the tapes long enough to own the observation technique; not giving Mr. Master's voice the chance to "drone on and on". I understood that being caught up w/ someone elses voice defeats the purpose of personal autonomy that's recommended by Roy's teaching.

I'm talking about the 6 LP record set that contains the exercise in it's entirety. I dont know if its even still available. I stopped using the tapes and records at some point, because I knew how to do it without them, but every once in a while (not often) I would use them for a refresher, as Roy recommended to do. Some people, I believe, are more susceptible to the power of Roy's voice. I also trusted Roy so implicitly, I gave myself totally to this practice. My trust was betrayed!!

Roy's meditation gets you into a "meditative" (trance) state. As the mind listens passively in this trance state, Roy drones on an on about "principles that protect the meditative state." He's putting his thoughts into your head. At the end he says be sure you don't remember all this stuff Ive said. You find yourself spouting Royisms thinking its your own original thoughts, when it is in fact, indoctrination by Roy. Get it yet? I know what I'm talking about.

I guess I get it, though I don't see how it destroyed your life, as you appeared healthy & attractive in the audience unlike certain dysfunctional wretches I know personally who were ruined by weak or absent fathers & overbearing mothers.
Nearly 20 years have passed since this show was taped. The Roy geezer may not even be alive much longer.

Because I became a born-again and very grounded and happy Christian after I left the meditation practice. God healed me mentally and spiritually. He gave me the strength to do this show. I'd have been a dysfunctional mess without Him. All the things I tried to find following Roy, I now have following Jesus. No more gurus for me, ever again.

Have you forgiven Roy Masters for the harm you feel he's inflicted on you? I think Jesus would expect as much. I believe he's a fallible human who sincerely tries to help people. I do thank you for posting these shows, as RM appearances on mainstream shows are priceless.
Maybe someone can teach me youtube uploading, as I have a rare Roy Masters as a guest on the Joe Franklyn Show that others may appreciate.

Do tell!! Uploading is very easy. Just keep the clip no more than 10 minutes, or whatever the limit is in MB. ..And yes, you bet, Roy is totally forgiven in my heart. Absolutely. I wish I could meet him again. I'd disarm him with kindness, warmth, and a non-judgemental attitude. I don't have a problem with him as a human being, just his teachings and the hypocrisy I see in him. I don't like the deception about the meditation being intrinsically hypnotic -- that's another whole debate.

I hope you can configure your video to upload the Franklyn Show with Roy. That would be interesting and appreciated.
I recall that he was once on the Wally George Show in the 80's, which was a complete circus. And there was a segment on Inside Edition (or a similar entertainment magazine show) which covered his daughter in-law's grievances against Roy and divorce from David. Roy didn't speak but Dianne Masters stepped in to defend him for the camera. Never a dull moment.
