God, doesn't everybody hate it when ANY EAS test happens at night! At least this month's RMT will happen during the day. Next time, it will be at night.
Most television stations in the US also transmit over the air using an antenna. As a result, most TV Stations also have their own EAS equipment to alert those that receive their signal via an antenna. These alerts are also transmitted over the cable system provided that you're tuned to thhat channel in case the Cable Company EAS (which overrides all channels does not activate.
Was this TV hooked up to a cable tv system? If it was, the first EAS test message was probably transmitted from the cable company Head end which overrides all TV Channels.
