I do agree that AT&T's 3G coverage is VERY limited. The difference though is that AT&T has the fastest network while Verizon's, though a bit slower (and not able to multitask with phone conversations), covers more ground. If you do have an AT&T signal where you use your device most, then you will be VERY happy with AT&T's service. If not, Verizon's definitely the way to go. Good news though; AT&T's 4G network debuts next year (Verizon's this year). Maybe we'll see some improvements!
I actually agree with you there. It's an issue of coverage vs what you get vs if you actually get the coverage. If you live in an AT&T area, fine. But for people like me, who live in a NON AT&T area, the saying goes, a small amount of something fast (AT&T) is still a small amount. That's why this is a Sprint/Verizon area. But like you said, if someone DOES get AT&T (and doesn't travel a lot) then they're set.

For multitasking, the iphone 4 is your best choice, although that lowers me cuz i've always hated AT&T because of their coverage. one of my best friends has the droid (forgot which one) but he can multitask on it, and verizon's network is faster than AT&T's network, everyone just seems to have more of AT&T's phones since they love texting. but i can asure u that the Env3 is the best texting phone i've ever tried
@frajel123 Well by multitasking I meant be on a call while browsing the internet, that kind of thing. I don't know if anything's changed since I posted that, but if nothing has, then you can't do that on Verizon; it's one or the other. On AT&T, you can do both at the same time.

I'm very happy with AT&T. I get full 3G coverage in all the areas I regularly go, and they have given me nothing but great customer service for years now. Before AT&T (known as Cingular back then), I had Verizon. I had no issues with their performance but they kept grossly overcharging me and could never seem to come up with an explanation. I got tired of paying $300 for cell phone service. Plus I love rollover. 2k minutes for a rainy day!

Well it's the best network i ever used so i never got dropped calls and my signal is the best everywhere so you never even tried it so verzion is the shitest network along with sprint.
All I can say for experience is that every time I call my mom she has to go out of the house to talk to me (no signal inside and calls drop), while if I call my sister (they live togheter) my sister can be inside the house and no problem she can talk to me, so yeah, suppourt Verizon commercials, AT&T sucks.

I'm with you there @OrcWyvern because my wife & I are with Verizon but we have a friend who is with AT&T who has to borrow our phone sometimes because my wife & I still get coverage in many places where AT&T doesnt which is why our pal cant wait till his contract with AT&T ends so he can transfer to Verizon or at least another carrier that's a rival of AT&Ts.

When he went to verizon he never had a compaint there so far. all people call for is what kind of phone is the best. And So far he has been working there for 10 years. If he would have stayed at AT&T he would of gotten 10,000 compaints a decade. Thats why you should allways stick with verizon, better coverage, better network. Enjoy

Am I the only one who feels that Sprints selection of phones is better then both of these annoyingly over-advertised companies? Verizon's customer service has always been great but I don't like how they are so modular with their features and charges. I don't like how AT&T sucks and quadruple charged me for things CONSTANTLY, but Sprint seems pretty nice. Anyone have any problems with them that I should know about? I'm considering the switch.
A couple of my friends have sprint and whenever I'm on the phone with them, calls are always dropped (on their end). it's kind of annoying. But that could depend on the area.
I actually work for AT&T. And this commercial IS wrong. They are using an AT&T coverage map from YEARS ago. And Verizon is also being sued for false advertising, because in reality, they do NOT have a 3G network. It's actually CDMA (or GSM), the same as T-Mobile and Sprint . The case made by AT&T may have been "thrown" but eventually AT&T will win, they are the oldest phone company in the nation, they are patient and can wait. They buy out at least 3-4 companies a year. Just a matter of time.

@frajel123 Well by multitasking I meant be on a call while browsing the internet, that kind of thing. I don't know if anything's changed since I posted that, but if nothing has, then you can't do that on Verizon; it's one or the other. On AT&T, you can do both at the same time.
Hmm... You might be in one of AT&T's slower areas if Verizon's faster. In the areas that are AT&T strong, AT&T usually has the speed advantage. Then again, things could have changed! :)

I'm very happy with AT&T. I get full 3G coverage in all the areas I regularly go, and they have given me nothing but great customer service for years now. Before AT&T (known as Cingular back then), I had Verizon. I had no issues with their performance but they kept grossly overcharging me and could never seem to come up with an explanation. I got tired of paying $300 for cell phone service. Plus I love rollover. 2k minutes for a rainy day!

Although, AT&T may have great coverage of where u are, but i have verizon, and the service is much better than AT&T, i get dropped calls, the phones are shitty for texting, and the touch phones are stupid

Effectively, Verizon went with the Droid, and as such, wanted to directly slam AT&T and in a more covered manner, slam Apple's iPhone commercials as well. It worked beautifully.

I should get an iPhone or something. Even if it got damaged, I could just ebay myself another AT&T phone, and plop the old sim card in, even if it's been water damaged, cause that's happened last time I was on AT&T, and my SIM still worked after water contact. The truth is verizon only cover their 3G network around US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. But At&t 3G network is spotty in the US and has more spots around the glove including Mexico Europe, and some places in Africa. Verizon is good if your gonna stay in the US, but if your going on a foreign land At&t is good for you.

My mom has AT&T and my sister Verizon.
All I can say for experience is that every time I call my mom she has to go out of the house to talk to me (no signal inside and calls drop), while if I call my sister (they live togheter) my sister can be inside the house and no problem she can talk to me, so yeah, suppourt Verizon commercials, AT&T sucks.
I got Sprint, it's an ok company, can't complain.

I'm with you there @OrcWyvern because my wife & I are with Verizon but we have a friend who is with AT&T who has to borrow our phone sometimes because my wife & I still get coverage in many places where AT&T doesnt which is why our pal cant wait till his contract with AT&T ends so he can transfer to Verizon or at least another carrier that's a rival of AT&Ts.

@100572a so true. AT&T's coverage on the commercials are all lies. my dad, he worked at at&t for 1 year, over 1000 complaints, too hard to deak with that, so he quit. When he went to verizon he never had a compaint there so far. all people call for is what kind of phone is the best. And So far he has been working there for 10 years. If he would have stayed at AT&T he would of gotten 10,000 compaints a decade. Thats why you should allways stick with verizon, better coverage, better network. Enjoy

Am I the only one who feels that Sprints selection of phones is better then both of these annoyingly over-advertised companies? Verizon's customer service has always been great but I don't like how they are so modular with their features and charges. I don't like how AT&T sucks and quadruple charged me for things CONSTANTLY, but Sprint seems pretty nice. Anyone have any problems with them that I should know about? I'm considering the switch.

I actually work for AT&T. And this commercial IS wrong. They are using an AT&T coverage map from YEARS ago. And Verizon is also being sued for false advertising, because in reality, they do NOT have a 3G network. It's actually CDMA (or GSM), the same as T-Mobile and Sprint . The case made by AT&T may have been "thrown" but eventually AT&T will win, they are the oldest phone company in the nation, they are patient and can wait. They buy out at least 3-4 companies a year. Just a matter of time.

fact or no fact, all i know is AT&T here sucks, everybody I know that has it gets dropped calls constantly, and verizon is amazingly reliable.
