People need to stop blaming psychiatry and start taking responsibility for themselves. If you are using the medication in an unwise way, that is your fault. I understand that some may argue that people will take the medication their doctor they trust prescribes, but that is no excuse. We have many methods of acquiring information and we can ask our doctors questions.

Niravam worked much better for me, but it costs a fortune and I lost my insurance last year when my husband died so I am on genetic Xanax now and it is working well, just a bit slower.

Hang on a minute let me get this straight! You're having a go at scientology yet you're the one on psychiatric medication. You really need to find out the real reason you have such high anxiety levels. May i suggest you read any of Claire Weekes books on Anxiety. Nice people don't get anxiety and that's a fact!

The real reason? Do you know what science is? Anxiety disorder is a issue the flight or fight response not working(a natural instinct that dictates behavior to protect ones self). It has nothing to do with being "nice". Assholes and nice people have this disorder all the same. It's known to be hereditary and several members of my family have the same issue. Your opinion is not a fact, science is a fact. Leaving nasty messages like this one isn't going to help your cause any, just fyi.

@shalindriaharam Of coarse Anxiety is Hereditary, everyone has it ! but high anxiety levels are NOT, The real reason it's passed through families is because it's learn't behavior. Please don't tell me you still belive the old chemical imbalance "THEORY", not even psychiatrists believe this anymore. Oh and BTW I'm a sufferer , my mother and father were both sufferers and this is where i picked it up from. I've seen hell but now i'm slowly improving week by week, month by month.

@Starskypuss1 glad to hear you're recovering. I have a vid about tapering, which is what I'm currently doing. I was at 3mg/a day, now 1.75 or sometimes less.  I am having bad attacks once in a blue moon, but when they come on I am breathing through it and not taking more medication. No one wants to feel like they are dying, ya know?

For my stress I should do a Purif and a Sunshine Rundown for 15,000 dollars...Nothing calms you down more than sitting in a sauna for 5 hours at a time and having 1000mg of niacin shoved down my throat and sweat until i have grey sweat, vomiting, and delirious. i admit I couldn't do without it. i m not saying it is a miraculous drug but it does help prevent panic attacks at least relieves them a great deal. thinkin about it everyone is hooked to sth , a medic , nicotine , alcohol , video games , the net , the side effects are just as bad as alprazolam

Considering psychiatric drug companies just privitized their own supermax prison systems.... it should be obvious their intentions... to CONTROL AND HARM YOU. My friend was electroshocked and I was forcibily injected with xanax once and I had to go to rehab for the withdrawls for a drug emergency gave me when I had an infection of my brain. Psychiatry is evil and it runs the prison systems and the schools nowadays. Sorry your too dependent on meds or ashamed you took them in the past to think.

Good for you; there is a lot of really negative and scientifically unfounded hysteria out there over psych medications. Its shameful to scare people into not taking medications that they need and to scare them about stopping the medications when its time. I took Xanax for many years and when I elected to stop I had no problem at all, after speaking with my doctor.

shali--thnx for speaking out.,,severe panic attacks can be severely debilitating to a patient causing a plethora of other symptoms. It is YOUR choice how to get help for this horrible condition! So happy you are doing well and agree with your med choice. Xanax is used quite often with great results! CCHR would rather put you on baby watch where you would have triple the anxiety! Yes Mollie. It started with chamomile tea, diet changes, kava kava (when it was still sold), B-complex, Vitamin D, more exercise, meditation, yoga. I like all these things but still had the anxiety attacks. I tried this for over 3 years.
