I agree with some of what you say but you have to realize not everyone has access to a n64 or the time to find a collectors disc on eBay. Majoras mask had many flaws like confusion and the fact if u didn't finish a dungeon in time you had to start all over. If we want to play the partners (OoT and MM) back to back we shouldn't have to switch systems.
The Links from OOT and MM were very different, you can see how much detailed Link from MM is and all the characters in general, even the Gorons changes slightly, the blocky charaters from OOT simply did not show in MM and the others were improved like Anju with a more round face versus the Chicken Lady, check them out.
There's no need to remake this epic which is my favorite Zelda, I just they would release it as it is on my 3ds anyway.

Other: Sorry, but I just have to thumb down. OoT was best on 3DS, so why not put the sequel there? Adding the reversed-world Master Quest with double damage would also be cool, but no "Boss Refight" mode, since you can alway fight them any time either way. UNLESS, the Boss Refight mode made them do double damage(MQ 4X the original fight's damage!). But... where would that be? Dojo? Secret Hole? Your opinion?

Ocarina Of Time 3D wasn't very much different from the original 64 version. I'm going to safely assume that Majora's Mask is also not going to change much. I think Nintendo is just re-releasing the games for both the new and older generations.
I want every non 2d zelda games to be remade into portable devices... I want my kids to play the old Zelda games and for that they need to be modernized into modern consoles(3DS)...

I'm all for remaking games if the original was filled with flaws but potential. However, we live in a generation that's too caught up with realism in games, and have therefore forgotten the POINT of playing games (to escape reality). Which is why I think this could be a really great opportunity for Nintendo to remind everyone what a true gaming experience is like. I know I might have just described OoT3D, but I honestly think that MM surpasses it.
Your entire argument is based around the idea the if Majora's Mask was put on the 3DS, it would be a "remake". I agree Majora's Mask is good the way it is, the most they could add is a 3rd save file for America and an upgrade for the Owl Statues in Japan. The reason I want Majora's Mask 3D is so:
A) It can get a new generation of fans
B) It can get a small graphics update like OoT3D

You contradicted yourself. Beginning of your video you said one of the only reasons to make a remake is if the game sucks. Later, you said everyone loves OoT so it was a good idea to remake it. MM should definitely be remade for the Zelda fans who played it on the N64 and for the new Zelda fans would want to play MM but can't since it's old and they probably don't have an N64.

I played Oot but I never played MM. I got interested in it so I downloaded the Wii port and I have to say in a graphical aspect MM is MUUUCH better than Oot. so why would you remake a game wich is still so playable? thats the only reason they made a remake of Oot, the technical aspect that holds it from beeing timeless.

I will not unsubscribe because I disagree with your opinion, however I do want to make a point. I don't think you understand what people who support Moonfall want, we want Majora's Mask, the original game with improved graphics, so us and newer gamers to play it. I am lucky enough to own Majora's Mask and a N64, but not all gamers are so lucky. Also nobody who supports Moonfall want the game changed from the original in anyway, we want the same story and we want the same gameplay.
It did have things they could improve on. Graphics. And funny thing I've never really PLAYED Majoras Mask. Like I have owned it and played but I didnt know how to or what was going on so i just ran around and played. Game even scared me all those years ago. But im still supporting because I want THIS Majoras Mask to be my 1st as if the original never happened. I don't think of "Operation Moonfall" as a bad name, it's more of a codename for Zelda fans to easily gather for a higher rate at convincing Nintendo.

If anything they might as well remove the fourth day glitch. I mean, what happened on it? Clocktown was practically deserted even though the moon was a mere spec in the sky, and if you tried to talk to the NPCs the game usually froze. And even if you do feel proud to have a fourth day, either the feeling dies and you just go back to the first day, or you continue showing it off till everyone around you is yelling at you to "SHUT UP ABOUT THAT STUPID GLITCH!!! NOBODY CARES!!!"
I think at least a third of the people who want a remakes if majora's mask have never played it because they didn't become fans of the zelda series until a later game. Maybe those people don't have any other way to experience the game unless a remake is made. That's why I bought oot 3D, and I can only play mm on an emulator, and without a proper controller, the controls are very difficult on the rom. This is how I look at it. Let's say I’m at college, and I got a free hour or two, so I pull out the 3DS, and bingo! I’m playing Majoras Mask. This situation could also be applied to on a bus, or an airport. In a nutshell, I’d like the 3DS port so I can play one of my favourite games anywhere, anytime. But I do agree with you that they shouldn’t change anything. The game is a master piece.

First of all, Nintendo will probably release a MM remake by itself given enough time. Even if it wouldn't, it's too early to start jibbering.

I wouldn't be opposed to a remake, but I certainly wouldn't fret too much if there wasn't (as I have no 3DS...yet). However, if they do decide to make it, I would hope they'd wait for the inevitable redesign of the 3DS which (presumably) would incorporate the circle pad addition, so as to not be forced to mess around with the controls like they did with OOT 3D.
I respect your opinion, and that's why I liked this video, but I also support operation moonfall, I think they did a great job with Ocarina of Time 3D, It looked beautiful, the 3D gave it a whole new feel, and they even added Master Quest. I think if they did release Majora's Mask in 3D they would have to add some sort of unlockable features to it but I don't see the problem other than that.

@buc555 well i found the game more challenging then some zelda games such as ocarina of time overall the game wasnt that hard some of the side quests was but the canyon temple i had to use a walkthrough for that one but they made a temple so hard but the boss was a joke for that temple it was i think the easiest in teh game
Make the remake of majora's mask, add more content, fix glitches, and improove the graphics. If nintendo wants to then just make a third game. So maybe Ocarina of time got remade, majora's mask did, and then a whole new special game for the 3DS based on ocarina of time and majora's mask. Just to throw in an example, base the game over getting a special sheild and armour. Yes that would work, like name it "The legend of zelda Hylian Armour"

Dude Oot 3D was made the only reason why operation moonfall was made because mm is the sequel to Oot so it would make sense that they remake mm and in a issue of nintendo power one of of the producers said "To all the Legend of Zelda fans who want a remake of The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask for 3DS SPEAK up" (that's how operation moonfall started) so now people who want/own Oot 3D (most of them) and fans of majoras mask join operation moonfall there is no need for hate videos the whole point i

It only makes sense I never played oot 3d but mm 3d would make sense just cuz its the direct sequal to oot while majora's mask being my least favorite im not say I hate it but it didint appeal to me as Oot and it would make another reason to pick up a 3ds when I get the money.
Honestly though, in my opinion they should have been remade on the wii with a hint of either WW or TP mechanics and just have the 3DS either improve with side dungeons, or even items. I mean when they remade Links Awakening for the gbc, they added the optional colour dungeon. which gave you the improve offense/defense.
This makes actual sense because there is really no point in re-making Majora's Mask just because of the graphics. Also, with Ocarina of Time it was merely just merging the original + master quest that made it exceptional, and sort of like OoT with the repeat boss battles (but not really the same fight). In a way, it kind of lacked in the last part because although i believe it was made specifically for timing an all, there was no real purpose to have it.

Dont think of it as a remake, they are simply remastering the game. A great release considering most people didnt get to own Majoras mask due to the lateness of its release in the N64's lifespan. And for those of us who dont own it, it would be much cheaper to buy it this way.

I understand where you're coming from, but I feel as though your reasons behind why a remake should be made are slightly off. Sure if MM was being remade for the Wii it wouldn't be the best idea ever, but one of the larger reasons people bought OoT 3D was so that they could play it wherever they can take their 3DS. I share your opinions if the remake was a console version. Having my favorite game, MM, portable would be a dream to me and many other Zelda fans that own a 3DS.
I really want to try MM. I wasnt born yet around the time of the n64 and by the time i was old enough to play video games I was five and my dad bought me a Gamecube. I dont want to get a system just for one game, so if they put this on the 3ds it would be really good for me.
@LVCtokio Download Project64 and a Majora's Mask rom. Then you can just play it on your computer. You may also want to get a 360 controller for PC, or whatever controller you prefer (If you prefer the playstation controllers, you can buy PC versions of those as well).
This will also allow you to play the game using any controller you want. You can just use your keyboard if you don't want to buy a controller as well.
Honestly, I can get that you'd want Nintendo to make a new Zelda. I agree with that, I really do. The way you go about discussing your point is just...it just doesn't hold up.
Tons of things could be updated in Majora's Mask, and there are so many reasons as to why a remake wouldn't be so bad of an idea. The reason why I got Ocarina of Time isn't because I think it needed a remake, or that I thought I'd get a better game. It's because I can now play it anywhere I want.
you make a lot of good points, but think about other games. pokemon remakes their games (fire red and leaf green for example) so that new kids can get a taste of the classic games on new systems. majoras mask was made in like 2000, and now its 11 years later and enough kids still play zelda. like you, majoras mask is my favorite game, and i would want younger kids to play this game other than spirit tracks or phantom hourglass. just my 2 cents :P

The only reason I think they should remake the game is because you have to play Majora's Mask in long sittings, the longest sitting I have been in is an airplane or a car ride. The only video games you can play in a plane or a car are DS games and if they do remake Majora's Mask it would be perfect for plane or car rides

Majora's Mask is, in my opinion, not only the best Zelda game ever made, it is the best video game ever made.
The thing is, Majora's Mask never got a proper chance. It was released right at the end of the N64's life span, it didn't even sell HALF the amount of copies that OoT did, and even to this day many so-called "Zelda fans" bash the game.
Re-releasing MM for the 3DS would not only give this masterpiece a second chance, it would allow them to fix the major issue fans had: the save system.
What this really comes down to is what if there is something developers wanted to do that they couldn't back in the day and if they haven't done it already in the future games.
I say that if you want thing not to change for Majora's Mask, you keep your n64 copy. The saving needs fixing. Opinion doesn't stand up against millions of times around the world where everyone got shafted for not saving the right way..
The save system in Majora's Mask is BROKEN. They obviously need to fix it by at least making the Owl Statues a perm. save. And the point of having a Majora's Mask 3D is to introduce the game to a new generation. I hadn't played OOT until I got OOT 3D.

Bro, I say you have good arguments, but, think with me.Your argument of "wasting their time", they could just port the graphs/gameplay of OOT 3D (because they're really look-alike) they would boost the 3DS sells AND while people play OOT 3D/MM 3D they could think more carefully of a NEW game.
Majora's Mask looks bizarre and incredibly strange because of the unusual textures used with the same models of OoT. OoT's graphics don't come off as awkward because they all use the same level of graphics, while Majora's Mask awkwardly and poorly uses them. The treasure chests for example in the game look off along with some other random things. The fact that you can play the game and tell when something wasn't supposed to be there in OoT really says something about the graphics.
Majora's Mask is now 11 years old. And remaking it would be easy, Nintendo would use the same engine as Ocarina of Time 3D. It would be not only smart in the marketing side of things, but the consumer side of things. Just because some people think that Majora's Mask "Isn't dated enough", doesn't mean it wouldn't be beneficial to all 3DS owners. This guy has some good points, but he stutters and stumbles on his words. Which messes with my belief in his points.
@ssdario It's called re-made, since the graphics are being updated and the game would be given 3D capabilities. Re-released would literally just be a port, similar to virtual console or the Collector's Edition for the gamecube; nothing is changed within the game.

This is part one of my case why Operation Moonfall should go ahead. I am goig to use Pokemon as an example. Pokemon remade Red and Green on their 10th annivarsary which was very successful as it introduce new players to the titles as well as pleasing the original players. After that by poplar request Gold and Silver was remade. I loved the originals but the remakes were awesome. I know they added new features like the new Pokemon and new locations, however that not why the remake are great...

As I was saying in part one the feature are not what makes a remake great, it is reliving the experiences in a new medium. Also bring it to a updated medium will make new fans, I see what is meant by put on for DL or content disc but no one will be interested prime example; my mate was not interested playing Starfox 64 on Wii DL but when he got his 3DS with Starfox 64 3D he loved it.

I want Majora's Mask because I want to play it on the go! I like Ocarina of Time. In fact, it is a pretty good game, but the remake so heavily improves on it that I can't even describe it with words! So I want to see Majora's Mask (which might just be my favorite Zelda game) on the 3DS. Not just because it'll be awesome to see Termina in 3D and better polygons of Deku, Goron and Zora Link, but also because I feel that Majora's Mask seems to suit portable devices with it's quicksaving system.
in fact they could completely redo the game. miyamoto originally planned the game to have about 6 temples and the amount of days was a week. but because of the fact that he didn't have time to wait for the gamecube to come out to begin making the game. He just made it on the N64 which obviously can't hold that much information on one cartridge.
Mmm not quite... The original idea was for the game to span a year, but they felt a month was more reasonable. After that, they reduced it to a month, then a week, and finally three days. The reason wasn't hardware limitation, but that they felt it was confusing and hard to keep track of everything.
If OoT was remade for the 3ds, then there's gonna be a Majora's Mask remake for the 3ds. don't you know what a sequel means? and fans support more on the remake then supporting your claims.
Majora's Mask needs more save slots (at least one more) The reason why the US version has two save slots was because they added the save and quit feature on the owl statues that the japanese version didn't have. I don't get why people hate the save system when I think its completely fine. I want a portable version of Majora's Mask too. Also It would be nice to fix the glitches and bugs from the Collectors edition and Virtual console edition that made the game freeze (it always happens to me).

I personally hope that they make a 3DS remake cause just owning MM and it being portable is just awesome. Ive put a good 70+ hours into OOT 3D and I know I would spend double that playing MM 3D.

3. Probably bew stuff like boss mode and maybe some kind of masterquest

The Links from OOT and MM were very different, you can see how much detailed Link from MM is and all the characters in general, even the Gorons changes slightly, the blocky charaters from OOT simply did not show in MM and the others were improved like Anju with a more round face versus the Chicken Lady, check them out.
There's no need to remake this epic which is my favorite Zelda, I just they would release it as it is on my 3ds anyway.

Adding the reversed-world Master Quest with double damage would also be cool, but no "Boss Refight" mode, since you can alway fight them any time either way. Ocarina Of Time 3D wasn't very much different from the original 64 version. I'm going to safely assume that Majora's Mask is also not going to change much. I think Nintendo is just re-releasing the games for both the new and older generations.

I'm all for remaking games if the original was filled with flaws but potential. However, we live in a generation that's too caught up with realism in games, and have therefore forgotten the POINT of playing games (to escape reality). Which is why I think this could be a really great opportunity for Nintendo to remind everyone what a true gaming experience is like. I know I might have just described OoT3D, but I honestly think that MM surpasses it.

Your entire argument is based around the idea the if Majora's Mask was put on the 3DS, it would be a "remake". I agree Majora's Mask is good the way it is, the most they could add is a 3rd save file for America and an upgrade for the Owl Statues in Japan. The reason I want Majora's Mask 3D is so:
A) It can get a new generation of fans
B) It can get a small graphics update like OoT3D
C) Personally, I want to play it 3D

I will not unsubscribe because I disagree with your opinion, however I do want to make a point. I don't think you understand what people who support Moonfall want, we want Majora's Mask, the original game with improved graphics, so us and newer gamers to play it. I am lucky enough to own Majora's Mask and a N64, but not all gamers are so lucky. Like I have owned it and played but I didnt know how to or what was going on so i just ran around and played. Game even scared me all those years ago. But im still supporting because I want THIS Majoras Mask to be my 1st as if the original never happened. If anything they might as well remove the fourth day glitch. I mean, what happened on it? Clocktown was practically deserted even though the moon was a mere spec in the sky, and if you tried to talk to the NPCs the game usually froze. And even if you do feel proud to have a fourth day, either the feeling dies and you just go back to the first day, or you continue showing it off till everyone around you is yelling at you to "SHUT UP ABOUT THAT STUPID GLITCH!!! NOBODY CARES!!!"

I think at least a third of the people who want a remakes if majora's mask have never played it because they didn't become fans of the zelda series until a later game. Maybe those people don't have any other way to experience the game unless a remake is made. That's why I bought oot 3D, and I can only play mm on an emulator, and without a proper controller, the controls are very difficult on the rom. I'm not really swayed in either direction about an mm remake, but I would definitely buy it if

This is how I look at it. Let's say I’m at college, and I got a free hour or two, so I pull out the 3DS, and bingo! I’m playing Majoras Mask. This situation could also be applied to on a bus, or an airport. In a nutshell, I’d like the 3DS port so I can play one of my favourite games anywhere, anytime. Very good points. My position is this: I would like a remake, but I also think operation moonfall is silly.
First of all, Nintendo will probably release a MM remake by itself given enough time. Even if it wouldn't, it's too early to start jibbering.
Second of all... that's it.
The reason I would like a remake is because it will make the game more accessible and the new generation will get a taste of ancient glory it wouldn't otherwise make.

I wouldn't be opposed to a remake, but I certainly wouldn't fret too much if there wasn't (as I have no 3DS...yet). However, if they do decide to make it, I would hope they'd wait for the inevitable redesign of the 3DS which (presumably) would incorporate the circle pad addition, so as to not be forced to mess around with the controls like they did with OOT 3D.

I respect your opinion, and that's why I liked this video, but I also support operation moonfall, I think they did a great job with Ocarina of Time 3D, It looked beautiful, the 3D gave it a whole new feel, and they even added Master Quest. I think if they did release Majora's Mask in 3D they would have to add some sort of unlockable features to it but I don't see the problem other than that.

Make the remake of majora's mask, add more content, fix glitches, and improove the graphics. If nintendo wants to then just make a third game. So maybe Ocarina of time got remade, majora's mask did, and then a whole new special game for the 3DS based on ocarina of time and majora's mask. Just to throw in an example, base the game over getting a special sheild and armour. Yes that would work, like name it "The legend of zelda Hylian Armour"

Honestly though, in my opinion they should have been remade on the wii with a hint of either WW or TP mechanics and just have the 3DS either improve with side dungeons, or even items. I mean when they remade Links Awakening for the gbc, they added the optional colour dungeon. which gave you the improve offense/defense.

This makes actual sense because there is really no point in re-making Majora's Mask just because of the graphics. Also, with Ocarina of Time it was merely just merging the original + master quest that made it exceptional, and sort of like OoT with the repeat boss battles (but not really the same fight). In a way, it kind of lacked in the last part because although i believe it was made specifically for timing an all, there was no real purpose to have it.

I understand where you're coming from, but I feel as though your reasons behind why a remake should be made are slightly off. Sure if MM was being remade for the Wii it wouldn't be the best idea ever, but one of the larger reasons people bought OoT 3D was so that they could play it wherever they can take their 3DS. I share your opinions if the remake was a console version. Having my favorite game, MM, portable would be a dream to me and many other Zelda fans that own a 3DS.

@LVCtokio Download Project64 and a Majora's Mask rom. Then you can just play it on your computer. You may also want to get a 360 controller for PC, or whatever controller you prefer (If you prefer the playstation controllers, you can buy PC versions of those as well).
This will also allow you to play the game using any controller you want. You can just use your keyboard if you don't want to buy a controller as well.

you make a lot of good points, but think about other games. pokemon remakes their games (fire red and leaf green for example) so that new kids can get a taste of the classic games on new systems. majoras mask was made in like 2000, and now its 11 years later and enough kids still play zelda. like you, majoras mask is my favorite game, and i would want younger kids to play this game other than spirit tracks or phantom hourglass. just my 2 cents :P

Majora's Mask is, in my opinion, not only the best Zelda game ever made, it is the best video game ever made.
The thing is, Majora's Mask never got a proper chance. It was released right at the end of the N64's life span, it didn't even sell HALF the amount of copies that OoT did, and even to this day many so-called "Zelda fans" bash the game.
Re-releasing MM for the 3DS would not only give this masterpiece a second chance, it would allow them to fix the major issue fans had: the save system.

Personally, I think Majora's Mask should be remade but not on its own, rather as a bonus for completing the new 3DS Zelda.
This way, the fans who do want the MM remake will get it, as well as paying for one game and getting two, and without making the 3DS library stale.
Also, if you don't agree with MM being remade, just don't play the bonus one. Everyone wins except Nintendo who have to make two games.

The save system in Majora's Mask is BROKEN. They obviously need to fix it by at least making the Owl Statues a perm. save. And the point of having a Majora's Mask 3D is to introduce the game to a new generation. I hadn't played OOT until I got OOT 3D.

Bro, I say you have good arguments, but, think with me.Your argument of "wasting their time", they could just port the graphs/gameplay of OOT 3D (because they're really look-alike) they would boost the 3DS sells AND while people play OOT 3D/MM 3D they could think more carefully of a NEW game.

Majora's Mask looks bizarre and incredibly strange because of the unusual textures used with the same models of OoT. OoT's graphics don't come off as awkward because they all use the same level of graphics, while Majora's Mask awkwardly and poorly uses them. The treasure chests for example in the game look off along with some other random things. The fact that you can play the game and tell when something wasn't supposed to be there in OoT really says something about the graphics.

Majora's Mask is now 11 years old. And remaking it would be easy, Nintendo would use the same engine as Ocarina of Time 3D. It would be not only smart in the marketing side of things, but the consumer side of things. Just because some people think that Majora's Mask "Isn't dated enough", doesn't mean it wouldn't be beneficial to all 3DS owners. This guy has some good points, but he stutters and stumbles on his words. Which messes with my belief in his points.

@ssdario It's called re-made, since the graphics are being updated and the game would be given 3D capabilities. Re-released would literally just be a port, similar to virtual console or the Collector's Edition for the gamecube; nothing is changed within the game.

This is part one of my case why Operation Moonfall should go ahead. I am goig to use Pokemon as an example. Pokemon remade Red and Green on their 10th annivarsary which was very successful as it introduce new players to the titles as well as pleasing the original players. After that by poplar request Gold and Silver was remade. I loved the originals but the remakes were awesome. I know they added new features like the new Pokemon and new locations, however that not why the remake are great...

thanks to YouTube for limiting the comments to 500 characters I have to do this in bits , any way Part two. As I was saying in part one the feature are not what makes a remake great, it is reliving the experiences in a new medium. Also bring it to a updated medium will make new fans, I see what is meant by put on for DL or content disc but no one will be interested prime example; my mate was not interested playing Starfox 64 on Wii DL but when he got his 3DS with Starfox 64 3D he loved it.

Nintendo have got the resources and the time I really think it go ahead, If you don't any that's fine turn you back and carry on but think simply because it is the other halve of OOT they should. So there my point why Moonfall should go ahead, I also think should end there it would be a bit silly remake WW and TP as well for the 3DS.

OoT 3D was made by a different company (as well as Four Swords Anniversary Edition)
so they could make MM 3D while Nintendo

I want Majora's Mask because I want to play it on the go! I like Ocarina of Time. In fact, it is a pretty good game, but the remake so heavily improves on it that I can't even describe it with words! So I want to see Majora's Mask (which might just be my favorite Zelda game) on the 3DS. Not just because it'll be awesome to see Termina in 3D and better polygons of Deku, Goron and Zora Link, but also because I feel that Majora's Mask seems to suit portable devices with it's quicksaving system.

in fact they could completely redo the game. miyamoto originally planned the game to have about 6 temples and the amount of days was a week. but because of the fact that he didn't have time to wait for the gamecube to come out to begin making the game. He just made it on the N64 which obviously can't hold that much information on one cartridge.

Mmm not quite... The original idea was for the game to span a year, but they felt a month was more reasonable. After that, they reduced it to a month, then a week, and finally three days. The reason wasn't hardware limitation, but that they felt it was confusing and hard to keep track of everything.

Majora's Mask needs more save slots (at least one more) The reason why the US version has two save slots was because they added the save and quit feature on the owl statues that the japanese version didn't have. I don't get why people hate the save system when I think its completely fine. I want a portable version of Majora's Mask too. Also It would be nice to fix the glitches and bugs from the Collectors edition and Virtual console edition that made the game freeze (it always happens to me).

I personally hope that they make a 3DS remake cause just owning MM and it being portable is just awesome. Ive put a good 70+ hours into OOT 3D and I know I would spend double that playing MM 3D.
I do however respect your reasons for not wanting a remake and while I don't feel the same way I like watching this video cause the reasons you bring up are all valid and good reasons for not wanting a remake.
