  • Venkat, Is there different size of tabla? do they make difference how you play or voice? I am planning to buy pair of tabla but don't know anything about it. Can you suggest something good? Thanks

  • Sir, you are a great teacher.

One kind request, Please show your face on Utube.

Step by step I am improving. your lessens are very very useful.

    god bless you.

  • Amazing more

  • It is supposed to be written Dha Dhin Nanagete: Dha Dhin Nanakete. That is how you write it in Keherwa (which is what you are playing), you have written it in Jhaptaal in the sidebar. I'm just offering some help :) I don't mean to prove you wrong. Please forgive me if you feel that I am.

  • is this for kehrwa?

  • Yes it is.

  • lv it..........

  • Dha Thin Tha KeTE

    Tha Dhin DhaTha Tha Tha

    Dha thin Tha TheTeKeTe

    Tha Dhin Dha ThaThaThaTha

  • wouldn't it be easier if you start with 8 beats and then add on more notes like... i may be wrong but just a suggestion?

    Dha Thin Tha Tha

    Tha Dhin Dha Tha

    Dha Thin Tha ThaTha

    The Dhin Dha Tha

    Dha Thin Tha ThaTha

    Tha Dhin DhaTha ThaTha

    Dha Thin Tha KeTe

    Tha Dhin Dha Dha

  • i agree with ur statment to an extent, yes i agree that tabla is a very complex instrument, but i think he is just trying to share what he knows or has learnt over the years meeting new people or watching.

  • Wow great!!!!

  • you, my friend, are what is commonly known as a HATER if tabla players have such a code of conduct and God consciousness and if you are a table player, how can you justify coming on youtube and putting this guy and his efforts down?

  • But i have been looking for something complex on which i can advance..like more kaidas and ..then specially mukhdas and pickups for taals...since i play a lot for bhajans.....so i need a lot more stuff like that if u know what i mean

  • I have been playing tabla for 4 years now. Im no pro...but i can tell between good n bad......um u right about having a relationship with the teacher. But u see for people like me...i used to live in South africa..i had a teacher there....from who i learned from...now i moved to Jacksonville USA..and over here...there is no one to teach tabla...i mean im stranded here with whatever i had got before. So i think its beneficial for the people who live far away with no teacher.I also teach over here

  • very good one, thank u

  • I know that dear. I was learning tabla a few years back. tell me when someone is listening to tabla of Zakir many of them don't know what are the taal's etc they only know it sounds fantastic. They r intrested in the sound even that maybe wrong it still sounds fantastic.

  • Then u teach us for free. C'mmon

  • when you play fast you dont play all of the bols, you cheat us!

  • its not just interesting its also amazing

  • Interesting stuff!

  • mack it short

    and easy

  • hellooo can jou plzz play for my.. Morolie.

i want to learn that.. and tel me plzz wick lesson it is..

    tankjou very mach

  • Can I play this as a variation for keharwa?

  • Yes you can because it fit into the 8 beat pattern of kherwa.

  • It is so informative, i bought tabla the other day, and i am practising, and these vedios are extremely helpful to me.

    thanks for your time Venkat.

  • thanks so much.

  • good stuff

  • your the man!

  • try playing

    Dha Dhin NaNa KeTe

    Ta Dhin NaNa GeTe

The second line is the khali of the first and should really start with a closed (no baya) note. Also, try replacing the First Dha with Dhik... this is playes on the edge of the kinar with your 3rd finger on the gab (black ink) to give a sharp clicking sound. Then replace the second Dhin with a too on the sur...

    Dhik Too NaNa KeTe

    Thik Dhoo NaNa KeTe

  • Thanks for the tip, much appriciated. I shall try and practice it.

    Regards

    Venkat

  • why don't you post your video on here instead of telling him to do that so. i hate when people dont do work rather criticize others. Fucking bloody British people ( they love to do that)

  • Firstly, its not criticising, its a suggestion from one student to another and Venkat took it like that judging by his coment! SO why do you have to come in and insult? You let yourself down by your coment at the end Pranhu. only ignorant people genarlise about a nationality! If we go down that route, by being America, your obese, insulting and have an idiotic sense of pride for a poorly run country. But i know that one cant generalise about a nationality so im sure thats not the case!

  • As for posting my video on here, to be honest, i cant be botherd to gout out of m y way in a response to your comment. However, if Venkat wanted clarification on my coment i would be more than pleased to post a response.

Please refrain from being rude in the future... dont live up to the American steriotype!

  • mmm i'm ordering some tablas, i can't wait to try some of this out...

  • You are doing a great service by posting these videos. You are a good teacher.

  • Hey Venkat, could you post some videos about tihaii's? I'm not really sure about the theory on when and how to properly play them.
