is it true that g&g m14's use ver 2 gears? and piston? or do they use all ver 7 parts like a marui? i just dont know how to upgrade my gun with what parts i want to make it a 500 fps semi auto only dmr any help would be great thanks

Wait, I thought the whole thing was V.2/V.3 Compatible except for the Air Nozzle (Because they use an AUG hop up design)?

So you had to use a V6 cylinder head and type 0 cylinder?

@pyroguy1030 i also have a tokyo marui m14 and i have upgraded it to 500+ fps semi only... it uses v7 gearbox parts (u can get your hands on guarder sp150 tune up kitt porhaps the cheapest way to upgrade it with no problems all u have to do u is buy a stronger motor and a better cut off lever for semi only action i also recomend guarder)

@TheAirsoftreviewer1 I own a G&G M14 Veteran and my moter just broke because my wires got too hot and melted, I already ordered new wires and a mosfit + a 9.6 V NIMH Battery as my 11.1 lipo was just too powerful, im running on 440 fps but i want to upgrade it to 540-550 fps so i can really use it as a semi sniper, where do i get such an upgraded gearbox + motor from?

nice gun but a few things, why didn't u go w/ a PDI 6.01, did u try a KWA 2GX Bucking, and what do u think the max effective range is. 600+ fps=lots of pain :)

Maybe all those art toghether are bad. I got a Matrix M4 with a SP150 and its shooting 580-590 fps with .20!! Try to make a better Air Seal. I got a Guarder Bore Up Kit with the full cylinder for M16 and the cylinder head with Tefflon tape, a super core piston, AIM Monster torque gears, JG Super High Torque motor, Madbull 3in1 Hop Up, Madbull red Bucking, Matrix 6.01 494mm TightBore. All of that gives me 585fps with .20's. But dont sound like yours, the one you have! man I love the sound!

Is piston staying locked back? It seems like each time you pulled the trigger the piston was already back and all you were doing was releasing it.

@hmg9194 no gun "needs" a boreup kit unless you plan on running a barrel significantly longer than the stock inner barrel. the stock cylinder only allows for a special g&g cylinder head so.. if you dont want to spend 50 bucks on a kit just for a piston head, then swapping the whole compression parts(piston head,cylinder,cylinder head) may be in good benefit. very soon i am going to start a g&g m14 dmr build, but it wont be an ebr. hope that helped clear things up

@TRNJAIRSOFT You are going to be spending more if you do it with a G&G or CA m14. They threw a whole lot of different parts together to make it. I had to use a V6 cylinder head that I had to grind down significantly, AUG bore-up nozzle, deepfire P-head and Guarder cylinder. Most of those had to be bought separately so it was a pain the butt to get everything together.

@TakeDownAirsoft I did use it for the first bit of SC v. GA but the woods was pretty dense and when it opened up I wasn't able to get a lot of good shots in the open. Later on I switched over to my KWA SR7 so I could use full auto and mow down some bushes.

go with an m160, it should settle down to around 550 fps, but m150 should get you down to +-4 with 530 fps

@gandalf1869 Before putting the gearbox into the upper receiver I flipped the selector to semi and turned the selector mechanism oddly so when the gun is all put together it physically cannot go full auto. Of course, I can disassemble it again and make it full auto but I would never use it anyways to prolong the life of the internals.

Like I said in the description, I would downgrade it to 530-550 by putting in an M150 spring if I wanted to use it in a game.

I shoot .4g bbs through it. the .2g bbs were just used to chrono because they are the standard, of course.

To all you that think using heavier BB's will make it field usable you are wrong, when you use heavy grade BB's it lowers the fps but the same energy is transfered in joules. It wont matter what BB's you use that gun will always have relatively the same energy transer which is very high and illegal on fields.

@hktwofifty he's not fielding it with m170. 550 fps is our max limit and using heavy weight quality bb's is more accurate at beyond 200 feet than .20g

I would use at least .25's in a DMR...especially with that high FPS.

@WPGOD It doesn't matter how often he uses it, it's a M14 that is a DMR, so you want it to be able to shoot somewhat hard to be able to be usable.
