  • problem with microsoft (&nokia), why it hasn't step up their game lately is because there's no competition at all. there's no denying that some of apple innovations changed the world but that "world" is only the 1ST world. MS got them all covered 1st, 2nd&3rd(majority).

  • I like this video, but its not the preview of app store... Its Marketing :)

  • I like what Microsoft tries to achieve with Windows 8. I've tried the Developer Preview and it will be a great system (although it has some issues still have to be resolved). My biggest concern regarding the Win8 marketplace/store is that it will be the only legal source for Metro apps.

Provide a default store with the system, that's ok. But allow others as well to distribute apps! There are other store systems with different concepts, with innovative capabilities like the AppWhirr service.

  • Good luck, Microsoft

  • When the windows 8 ultimate discs are for sale in my local office depot, I'm heading there immediately.

  • I hope windows 8 are sold at very cheap price :)

  • How you do that If i get Windows 8? Or It erased my files :(

  • I hope Firefox becomes Metro as well as desktop.

  • Apple > Microsoft

  • @ONEBlackJellyFish microsoft > google > shit > more shit > apple

  • @aleksandersandstrom microsoft=google>Blackberry>shit>apple (the company, the fruit rocks)

  • "Go develop some good apps for OUR store"

You are a sucker if you use Windows 8 (aka a Mac user). Picture passwords aren't safe. This OS will clutter the fuck out of your PC's resources.

  • almost wearing black turtle neck i see...remind me of someone.

  • @makingmusicfouru steve jobbbs

  • I see a lot of the design core of Windows 8 in my Windows 7.5 smartphone. This is good- it means that when I do move to Windows 8, it will already be familiar to me, and the transition will be seamless. Microsoft is doing it right.

  • this windows is joke. sorry

  • @ELFERNANDO17 Was that sarcasm.

  • @wtfonme98 are you retarded?

  • Windows 8 will be the revolution of the PC :P

Personnally, I have the HTC Titan X310e with Windows Phone 7 Mango and I love the OS !!! It's so simple to use, so fast ... Just the best ^_^

  • windows8sugs.blogspot.in

  • its looks amazing, can't wait!

  • Notice the HDMI to DVI converter. Hehe.

  • if thats windows 8 ill be buying a mac for sure I love windows 7 and think they should work off that instead of this bs- thats suited better for tablets and touchscreen useage all the time on a full out pc gets old real fast

  • if the windows app store matches that of the ios app store, then apple will be ripped apart...windows is better than ios minus the app store

  • Faster Operative System, A Really Internal Improved version with much more for the ones that use Touchscreens, but, Why they have to put the tablet thing everywhere?

  • Windows 8 is a best operating system for desktop computers and tablets but download this depelover preview its imposible??

  • unprecedented? or we can just put the Mac OS figures in there as well to make it real and not unprecedented.

  • funny how they compare a computer based platform (windows) to a phone/tablet platform (android, iOS) that hasn't really been around for more than 5 years? Microsoft is old news. I'm sorry, but they are way behind. lets take the figures for WP7 and Windows tablets and compare them hahahaha.

  • I LOVE YOU BABY MICROSOFT THANK YOU VERY MUCH FROM FULL

  • Here's an idea: Let the other 150+ countries to buy your apps! The Marketplace on WP7's half-baked.

  • Im not going to get it if it affects steam and pc gaming

  • I seriously hope they bring Microsoft Points over to the Windows Store, keep my head at rest and is easy to use. SERIOUSLY C'MON. I probably won't buy whack if I can't buy apps and such using Microsoft Points. ;-/

  • Cmon, I have windows phone 7 and it looks just like windows 8

  • Hey guys here's the real agenda behind this. You have to give Microsoft 20% of the profit and $49 just to list it. Check out the video on my channel for more information.

  • always trying to steal Apple's Thunder.. Always.

  • Okay i will go build some Great ABS!!

  • tap de tiles

  • Microsoft's answer to the App Store? Sounds cool!

  • windows 8 better be able to transfer computers or have more license

Other wise they don't care about custom PC makers

  • @Ibankik as far as I know they said that all PC's now running Windows 7 will be able to run 8

  • @idelta777 yeah i know but atm windows 7 only comes with one license for one computer which is stupid as i have a pc laptop and notebook and i would have to buy activation key for every single one which is the same price as the software.

  • Gonna make an amazing OS for tablets. Don't care for it too much as a computer based OS, especially non touch screen computers. Can't wait to pick up a Windows 8 tablet, so long as it's not dumbed down like Windows Phone 7.

  • @brianxbang Dude... Windows Phone 7 isn't dumbed down... what are you on about? I have one and its the best phone I've ever had! I can do anything on it that I can do on Android or iPhone... please, define "dumbed down" for me...

  • @button4boy Can you install your own roms without hacking it? Can you install your own third part aps without hacking it? Can you use flash with it? Can you have your own background rather than a stupid color? Can you customize your homescreen the way you want rather than just their tiles? Can you make the OS look the way you want it too rather than just the ability to change the color scheme? Free first part navigation? Windows 6.5 had all that and more. Dumbed down to appeal to apple fans.

  • @brianxbang hmm ok, maybe I should change that to "anything I WANT to do, or the average smart phone user WANTS to do" they can do with a Windows Phone... I don't give a shit about a lot of those things and neither will a hell of a lot of people. I love the way Windows Phone looks and don't want to change the way it looks like on Android... It's not dumbed down, it's just different! Get whatever you want!

  • @brianxbang

Here's what's funny: All you Droidfanboys keep talking about the great customizability (of course including trivial steps like 'hacking' or installing custom ROMs which I'm sure just about everyone will do LOL) and yet - every one of your phones UI looks shittier and less cohesive then any Windows Phone. Sure you could customize it to look good, its just that noone is doing that. Look at any Android Homescreen. MotoBlur, MotoGrid, the horrifying Sense, TouchWiz -> ugly!

  • @Firestorm6X6 Your argument is so invalid. It's purely based off a biased opinion and has no place in a discussion about the lack of features.

  • @brianxbang LOL! Windows Phone is not dumbed down in any way. What an asinine comment.

  • @HTHAMMACK1

LOL at you for trying to justify your comment by sounding "smart" and using big words. Better luck next time when you actually do some research on learning what an operating system is capable of, what Windows Mobile 6.5 was able to do and what Windows Phone 7 can't. You have literally no idea what you're talking about with such an "asinine" comment.

  • @brianxbang Idiotic comment. Windows Phone is a mobile OS just like iOS and Android. For a mobile OS, it's not dumbed down at all. It's as powerful as any mobile OS on the market.

  • @HTHAMMACK1 You're just as dumb as the rest of the people who have replied to my comment. I'll say it one last time. Clearly you have no idea what Windows Mobile 6.5 was like to even be able to come in here and comment the way you did. Go home and do some research about what mobile 6.5 was able to do and what 7 cannot. Please for the love of God know what you're talking about before you fanboy your rage through the comment sections.

  • This is Good

  • Why is the guy looking like Steve Jobs.?

  • @TarzoEzio Because it works... :)

  • @w1p30ut3r True...

  • @TarzoEzio He looks nothing like Steve Bobs. Black shirts on blue jeans was invented by him? Idiot.

  • The entire point of dropping legacy is money. People will have to buy newer software or hardware in order to run their programs properly.

  • i like how the screen shakes after each tap xD

laptops are not designed for touch yet...

  • @MegaR2 Lol i noticed that to..

  • How about us desktop users...

  • windows 8 download

    /watch?v=T-nqul-mqtE

  • I hope Windows 8 will have just one version. No starters... Ultimate... or whatsoever.

  • x86. Seriously Microsoft? You're slowly failing more and more these days. Start getting 12 gigs of ram to work!

  • @DaMasterSarge

x86 is required for compatibility - Windows 9 will drop legacy software completely. Compatibility is Microsoft's number one advantage, why would they drop it? Windows 9 will be all 64 bit (perhaps 128 bit? I'm not sure).

  • Why on earth would you want a phone interface on a >10'' laptop screen? The major desktop environments for GNU/Linux have shown tendencies towards the same lately, but this looks even worse. Btw, GNU/Linux users have had the benefit of a desktop software manager / store like that for years while Windows users have needed to surf the web to install stuff. Seems that Windows is finally catching up, good for them:-)

  • I love how the laptop screen shook when he touched it. Implies laptops shouldn't be touchscreen.

  • @Tordah26 So if it stood still, it should be touchscreen?

  • @MasterpieceOfAlex Yes, because then it won't flop around.

Tablets work as a touch screen because one's hands are behind it supporting the screen.

The trouble with a laptop is, reaching around to support the screen 'breaks' the natural feel of using a laptop.

  • @Tordah26 Maybe if you tap gently :) lol

  • @Tordah26 yes, a KINECT laptop would be more fitting. just imagine what you can do

  • @Tordah26 ah but thats a lenovo x220t though, its a laptop convertible, if you look closely youll see it only has one hinge right in the middle so it can be twisted around into tablet mode, so its bound to move it a bit. the x220 is the non-convertible version with two hinges on either side and doesnt move like that when your using the touchscreen which would imply that laptops can be touchscreens just as well as non-touchscreens!

  • @savagecabage Does your laptop have hinges on either side?

If it does, push the screen with the same force he has done. You'll also notice the screen shakes.

  • @Tordah26 im on an x220t at the mo sorry. but i dont ever hit the screen with the same force as that guy used because its a TOUCHSCREEN not a punchscreen lol its responsive enough that all it needs is a "touch", no force, also you dont need to hold the screen while using it, if you ever see somebody holding the side of a touchscreen it would imply they may be slightly retarded, you dont need to hold it

ok thanks for the physics lesson anyway. things shake when you touch them, got it

  • @savagecabage Tablet held in hand.

    Hand steadies tablet.

    Stops tablet from bobbing around.

    Physics 101 over.

  • @Tordah26 right, ill agree with you if you just go away. laptops shouldnt be touchscreens, tablet touchscreens are better or some shit like that.

    all the best, goodbye.

  • hope most of the apps are free not like apple app. store

  • @aquarmor the apple app store has plenty of free apps, or at least, free versions of the paid app. I have a plethora of extremely useful apps on my iphone and not one of them is a paid app. Goes to show...

  • Can a 14 year old be a developer??? I really want to!

  • @TheJaceMaster Yes, you can. You can start by downloading the devopler preview @ dev.windows.com A Windows Store license only costs $50 a year.

  • @rts2808 again and again and again and again, windows 8 is both a tablet and a desktop operating system

  • Thumbs up to LINUX!

  • @MohamedOubellaTV you will die waiting. lol

  • EBAY.

  • ahhh! Microsoft is a breath of fresh air. They are at work with the future.

  • @AjblueDesign My father works for microsoft. A 200 billion dollars company and you thought that anyone could work there. Your comment have nonsense.

  • The tiles and UI are beautiful to me.

  • Oh. The keyboard dock needs to be less than 200 dollars. Tablet be around 500

  • Put this on a tablet with a keyboard dock. Then we will talk

  • this is real shit with the apps, like really there trying to make computers have the characteristics of mobile devices but it will just be so retarted having apps on a damn desktop/laptop..

  • @Killer2043

Applications on a computer are "retarted?" So...the Microsoft Office suite, the freakin' Windows media player, the GODAMN Windows File Manager, the fucking internet browser you are using to even view this fucking video are just all retarded huh?! I'm done with these "retarted" youtube comments. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Oh hi trey Parker

  • Haha, Mac fanboys are very funny, keep going n00bs.

  • @icALASAD Love you bro I hate mac fanboys and android fanboys.

  • Im impressed. :')

  • A challenger appears!

    Your fortune: Good luck

  • I don't like the basic design and how it looks. Looks like they're prioritising their designs off touch screen devices, rather than mouse and keyboard =\.

  • Windows 8...worst operating system ever known to man.

  • @VictorYong36 alright then. don't EVER use it when it comes out.

  • @VictorYong36 yes for a desktop it suk..

  • Windows better not make stupidiest useless apps and apps games on Windows 8. For example scratcher, racing game, 2d platform, MMORG, puzzle, strategy, shooter, action, and MMO, They need to come with a League of Legend touch screen on the tablet. Caitlyn, pawns. MUAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Great job!! I do think that Windows Phone is going to be huge. I, myself, don't like androids, but this Windows Phone is great. I hope they made a Tablet with this System. I'm thinking to get one HTC Ultimate...Does anyone knows wich one is better: Nokia Lumia 800 or HTC Ultimate?

  • Windows 8 is already have Chinese edition?!

  • I'm sorry, i own a laptop with a capacitive touchscreen and it's the most useless thing on my laptop. Touchscreen on a homecomputer is never gonna be a thing,it's bullshit

  • @Facepalma Which is why microsoft just abandoned their whole professional creation customers not to mention gaming. Now is the time for some amazing linux esq, operating system to come in and steal the show. Microsoft is focused on tablets finally, but instead of taking a ipad approach, they are making a weird hybrid that i'm not sure will be received very well. Their market for this is on techie side of the customers, however i don't think techies will flock to this over mouse and keys

  • @chau3 : Quality of Apple? What does that have to do with the Microsoft's store? I'm in favour of any company which tries to improve their products. Be it with a little inspiration from others or all on their own. In the end I'll be the one that ends up with a better product for a lower price. Now GTFO with that fanboy attitude and appreciate technology instead of specific companies. Damn mindless drones all over the damn place, geez...

  • :)

  • I have a windows phone 7 and the store is a pain in the ass to use when i search for an app i get 50 shity songs i could care less about. Also i can get cheaper better quality apps on my android tablet. Angry birds for example its free on android but not on windows phone. Also try to find a decent action adventure game for free on windows theres aton of them for andriod.

  • Hey I used this interface years ago with my Zune HD.

  • the screen shakes everytime that guy touches it. steve jobs was right: notebooks were NOT made to have touch screens.

  • microsoft will never be able to match apple, the can outsell apple, but they will never be able to achieve the quality of apple, with mac osx they will always be a step ahead of windows, microsoft will never be able to catch up.

  • @eklyy For sure, Microsoft spent million dollars on researches to start the windows store, Ph.D employees worked really hard to develop windows store. Then you came and said "Useless features no one will use". Sorry, but who are you?

  • @guroxchicaloka

    Don't need Ph.Ds to develop a store.

  • @guroxchicaloka Ah yes sorry people will search using bing, will play "cut the rope" will use it for going to login page of ebay, will make great animated greeting cards. yes you are right.

  • @guroxchicaloka I Would love to know how you know that microsoft had Ph.D employees working really hard. I'm sorry but who are you? How exactly could you possibly know what education degree their employees have, and how could you possibly know that they worked really hard? Its a store... they already had the backend from xbox, and plenty of time. Or, were you just pulling shit out of your ass, and presenting it as factual information to back your point.

  • Useless features no one will use.

  • @eklyy Oh, shut up. That's what people said about the Superbar, Aeropeek, and Aerosnap. Just shut up.

  • love the dislikes.

Obviously mac fanboys.... google fanboys are too intelligent and understand that an app store is no apples invention or trademark

  • @jacko2222222 well, fuck you!

  • @jacko2222222 "What?? Apple Invented skyrim first!!" - Drooling fanboi..

  • RuTracker Rools win store -GAVNO

  • 252 are not PC'S

  • okay, why couldn't mac and windows get along. How about Mac is Windows and Windows is Mac. Mac and Windows Hand shake and join together so none of the people(Which i am SOOOOOOO going to get mob by angry utuber or people) are bios or hater against the product.

They are working together as a good team or partner.

Roger, i am going to get a lot of Hate comment on me. Pretty much, Roger! Said by Trigun!.

  • Looks pretty shit

  • It seams Windows is doing the right moves...

  • I think windows 8 should be:

1-Take off a lot of unused and crap things , simple as possible.

2-Clean beautiful and practice Gui (something different then previous versions of windows)

    3-No viruses

    4-Stable

  • @eklyy having no viruses is not upto windows unless they disable the ability for you to modify the system32 files and anything with the suffex .dll; hence why third party software is so expensive for macs and why there is so little of it. Its a trade off, absolute security or very little 3rd party support.

  • @heath2357 I'm a windows and a mac user, i work and I do practically the same things on both platforms, the only difference is that i have to format my windows pc every 5-6 months

  • @eklyy Do you keep a system image?

  • @eklyy then may I offer a tip go and google avg the first link should be free/dot/avg dl the FREE software; no more viruses.

  • @eklyy The point I was making is that a Macs may offer little to no viruses but they do this by limiting what the user can do with the computer, while a PC allows a user to do whatever they want and if the user xis smart and downloads even the most basic FREE anti virus software that takes ~2 minutes then the whole "macs dont have viruses" argument gets thrown out the window. Something to think about: No one ever got a virus from using MS word....

  • @heath2357 I'm both mac and win user, and i'm using windows since win95 and to be honest i was always disappointed by windows, always something goes wrong. There are a lot of useless things that just make windows a mess, Microsoft have to understand that simple end efficient is the key.I hope that Windows 8 doesn't disappointing me, and also personally i would like that they make completely a new design of GUI graphics and icons, It is always great to feel fresh and new.

  • yah well you've got to do some work.cut the dl of junk and the porn and scheisse you'll do fine.

  • @eklyy There is no os that can repel malware with 100% success.

The 'unused crap' is there to meet any hardware and software need the user may encounter, you can turn all of them off.

The interface is only a matter of habit.

It is already a very stable OS.

  • @eklyy 5-Circumcised

  • facebook.com/pages/Quantum-Gamers/128953657197297

  • @Digloo98 Touch screen iMac, or touch screen Macbooks?

You wait until you die you will never see it.

AMD, ARM? On a computer with an Apple logo?

You wait until you die you will never see it.

    MW3, WOW, FIFA12, SKYRIM on a Mac OS X?

You wait until you die you will never see it.

  • @trigun10 Tell me the example that Windows copied from a Mac

App Store? I'm sorry Linux has that before Mac so many years.

  • @staffersteward

what i have said is similar and not copy(my apology)

How apple is apple store and windows is Windows store. It's not copy, but similar idea.

An similar idea as having an ipad with apps version where you slide left and right with apps you click and it opens up. i am just making a few point of similarities and not copy version.

  • @confinedcoskateboard You mean App Store? Apple also copying from Linux.

  • If Microsoft wants more users to buy their producting don't turn into another apple it would be better if they designed something unique you know but neither the less I prefer windows os compared to ios

  • @Cryptnar But why do you say apple? It was not the first company to implement such features into their client platform.

  • my position still stands. i like Windows 8 for tablets, but idk if i'd want it on a desktop or laptop. The metro UI is pretty cool, but if i'm going to sit down with my laptop or desktop, i think i'd want an experience more in-depth than what the metro screen looks like it can offer. that said, i too am concerned that there could be a significant decrease in freeware available on Windows 8 due to the store, but maybe not. Just have to wait and see

  • shit if window 8 has an app store it well be like itunes or androide u have to buy them not like now

  • Note the comments below this one. This is why casual users should not be allowed on the internet.

  • @LightColourz Windows doesn't need expose, the taskbar in win7 allows you to easily choose which window you wish to see. The only reason it works in Mac OS X so well is that multiple windows of the same application doesn't show up in the dock.

Yours sincerely Windows and Mac OS X user

  • Stop saying Windwos Store is a Mac App Store ripoff! Ubuntu Software Center came before Mac App Store!

  • I love Microsoft and Windows. I hate tiles though.... :|

  • I doubt Apple fanboys have good mental health, otherwise they wouldn't be saying irrelevant shit here. We're here to talk about WINDOWS, stop seeking for attention like desperate whores.

  • windows es un fraude ..... copia ...copia ...copia....hasta el presentador copiaaaa..... a el nimenso APPLE..... stewe debe estar ...carcajeandose en su tumba

  • Lemme get this straight, People are hating on Windows.... People are hating on apple.... then there is LINUX! WTF!!?!?

  • He's wearing Steve Jobs same clothes.... What a fraud

  • jobs didn't invent those clothes. people who are lecturing often wear black because it doesn't compete with the background.
