Hello, fellow abalone divers. We have a common enemy. The sunflower starfish. Every time, I dive in anywhere in california, I see many sunflower starfish, yes, light purple color the ones with 20 arms. They are eating abalone at an scary rate. I usually cut them up into tiny pieces. Please help, by cutting up these prediators of the abalone. Let's protect the abalone populations , so that there will be more abs for us in the future.
No wonder, you have many 10", it's b/c you're really, really looking. This can take about a couple to a few hours to do, unless you're in a exclusive area, that hardly anyone can go to or no access from land. It all depends on what you're trying to do. Some ppl, just want Abs.
This is actually a typical day, as far a viz is concern in Bodega Bay diving. Every once in a while, the viz is outstanding, but when it does, it's rare. Funny, I like diving in Bodega. Maybe, b/c it's very challenging. Believe me, Everyone. It's not an easy dive, b/c of the overall conditions, that one has to deal w/.
Nice video Matt! Nice viz for the jetty. Where on the jetty are you? I assume by your post it is on the "beach" side farther out. I would love to do this dive with you sometime. There are some nice fish to shoot out there too. How were the currents?

@DaDiver168 no did not take any I only take ones that are ten inches or bigger only saw 8's and a couple of 9's.

They closed off the bodega headlands for fishing & abing. Can you take ABs from the B.B. Jetty??? Or the Island there???
