Just because he's flashy and mediatised they think they cant be wrong. Yet you put Kelly at big sunset with a gun and you realise he cant do a turn. Thank you jmminu, you are probably a fine surfer yourself. There are a lot of people who don't realize that surfing takes technique and not just fancy layback manuevers and recovory shit. Why does he have to recover in the first place, because he falls not being able to hold his rail.

got to say that slater had a much larger variety out there than adrian... more critical manouvers too. airs and pushing himself...Adian looked just surfing conservatively and id see better surfing at home. hes way over-rated. slaters got this bull by the horns...check out my vid, id appreciate some constructive criticism.

Contest judging is very subjective and they favor Kelly to promote the sport. Do you remember when he was Jimmy Slade in Baywatch? It's no different in real life. If you want to see real surfing check out somebody like Buzzy Kerbox or Brad Gerlach. Full on rail turns and not the out of control surfing kelly does!
