should both the computer be turn on @ the same time to do this process?
like if i am @ office and i gotta access my home pc den should my home pc be turnd on for this ? and can i access all drives of the computer with remote access?
I have XP pro and windows 7 home premium. Home premium does not have remote desktop, but I think it supports it. Will I be able to setup RD on the XP pro machine and connect to it via my windows 7 machine?
no you can still have a remote access if you disable blank password restrictions by using a policy in
Click Start, point to Run, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK
Open Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only. Double-click Limit local account use of blank passwords to consol logon only.
i have a problem with the remote desktop wen i click on start/my computer/properties/remote it dosint show the little check box that says: allow users to remotely connect to this computer...
all i see when i open up the MY COMPUTER properties is a remote assistance box, there is no remote desktop box under it. how do i get that bottom half of it?
gosh u guys are cracking me up but its not ur guys fault he dosent show all of the things u have to do on this vid theres alot of things u have to do to both computers.
Logmein is better, if you want to login onto your own computer, like from work...to send an email or something like that.
Crossloop is the best, to give support to someonels...not to log in to your pc, from a diffrent location. (two sides need to Confirm desktop sharing..)
Yes and No. You don't have to download a program if you are using XP. If you are using your other program you have to. I like Remote Desktop better but what ever works for you...
Im sorry but i dont got my sound on my computer so i cant hear what you are saying. But baseicly im asking that should i always use Lan (10 mps or higher) And doesnt he need the victim need to open remote asistence to?
this doesnt work for me when i try and type in the IP and username and password it just says it cannot connect and that i should contact my network administrator (which is me anyway) when i try and click the browse thingy i see my workgroup and then it says that the workgroup home doesnt contain any terminal servers
someone please help
is it cos im not on a network with servers cos im just on a home network?

If this person has allowed remote access and set no password, yes.
Remote access is normally off.

You have Windows XP home edition. Remote desktop is only available in Professional.
You can still use VNC, google it.

Don't you have to pay to use Logmein or Crossloop??
deejaypacman 3 years ago
if you take the LOGMEIN "free" it works fine!
its not Trail or something like that...
but it is basic.
remember, the prupus is to log into you computer at home if you are at work and need something...
So your homee pc has to be POWER ON!! no sleepmode!!
Good luck....

dannyboy90016 4 years ago
what about the computer that is suppose to be host? the one we are going to connect to? What application does it need open?
SirAguilera 4 years ago
the host just needs to have the "remote desktop" option on, and you need the IP of it AND the username + pass.
