It's crazy. The same way I listen to Jay-z ,Wayne, and EM, is the same way my Pops listens to the Delfonics, the O'Jays, and the Spinners. And Stevie. A family just got closer.
when i listen to this song i think of romances in the summer n wat it was like bac then wen this song came out. simply put im jus in love with this song
My parents told me that this were the first song they danced to when they were in high school in '68. I also agree with your description as well and I was born in 1980, this is why I listen to mostly old school.
@xxxWarriorGoddessxxx i was born in 78 and my parents allways listened to the oldies and will allways remember them daceing when i hear this beautiful music
@kinagrannisfan209 You are so fortunate to have parents who share their music from their younger days with you. Cherish every moment of it as i believe you do.
Music is one of the very few things that unites people of all colors, all religions, and all backgrounds. This song in peticular, is one of the best examples possible.
@BLJackson1983 My grandmother and grandfather both loved this song and Im happy they were here to share there music with me...I may only be 14 but I do know good music when I here it...RIP grandma(also happy birthday grandma) and grandad
This tune stands out all on its own , and has passed the test of time with flying colors. It came out in my college freshman year- right after the "Summer of Love", and one of the coolest things about it was even the hippies never turned the dial when it played. Still awesome, William, and thanks.
I'ma big hip-hop/rap fan nd rap artist but dis classic track is the best. I first heard it on Ghostface Killah's The Pretty Toney Album on the track Holla. I fell in love with it when i also heard the orginal. A great song. A+.
Goodness! I remember being five riding in the car, dad turns on the radio and this song comes on. I sing the chorus and we just listen to all the oldies! 16 yrs old right now and I'm in LOVE with these songs. Thanks Dad!! :)
@tamerswan Everyone wants one of my Myer's rum and Coke's. It just makes the music even better snuggled up with a honey on a late night by the fire looking in the stars with her.... Yeah I 'm going too far.
wow! when I was 20 I would listen to oldies also n I would hang out more with people older than me n now Iam 46 n still listen to this music. music back then had meaning so real you can hear it in their voice.
see people of the older generation had it so easy... they made the music that they wanted and didnt have coperation feeding them what is music .. if a young guy wants to make it in the music business these days he can only make a certain type of music .. bless the older generation
This song just brought tears to my eyes. It's so beautiful... the chorus is simple, yet says so much! My mother/father were so lucky to grow up in an era of music that was full of true talent!
Hey kids of today, listen...hear that? That's called HARMONY...try it sometime, then you can call yourselves musicians! Thanks for this post, memories!!
this was when they were making love songs nd not sex songs....gosh i missed out on great music. but @ least i know wut great music is nd cn listen to it now.
this reminds me of the 90's when i was a little girl and my brother was a "gangster" lol but old school gangster, the ones from the 90's and he used to fix his impala car with this song on turn up, with his white muscle shirt and his pressed pants and shiny buckle and addidas he used to lisen to all kinds of old school music like this like, angel baby from rosie and funkdoobiest and stuff..ahh, nostalgic :) :(
Classic, when i heard this again, I was trippin cause it took me way back when I was around 5 and my mom played this like it was her only song at the time. Boy memories.
Where did we turn the corner where it was no longer acceptable to say "I love you". There was still violence on the ghetto in the grab for money but it was NEVER hip to be violent as it is now. God help us all...
