I love this era, i love herbie, and i've strapped many questionable things around my neck as a keyboardist, but i have to say poor herbie looks like a cigar girl at a speakeasy at the beginning. But I wouldn't change a thing. Awesome. His pocket when he solos is ridiculous as always.
I adore jazz fusion and Hancock. But this track, somehow, confuses me. The disco style doesn't attract me. I'm more with raw funk of JB and thrash cosmic jazz of Miles.
Thanks for sharing...but this is not "Headhunters" any more...I think this went under "Herbie Hancock Group" or something like that, and it's during his vocoder/disco period.

Check out bean9seventy covering the original bass line. It shows the quality of the track. This live performance by Herbie's band is weak.
