watched the show for the first time in a couple of months... as expected, mr. ferguson ROCKS. the wikipedia/fox news bit, shit, i fell out of me chair!! :D
the other day i took like,45 minutes listening 2 the lls theme song (cant get enough of craig's sexy damn voice) & trying 2 play it on a keyboard & i had it basically matched w/ the real song.
then i realized i was playing what craig was singing instead of wat the keyboard was...man he should realse the sheet music 4 the song!
The show isn't taped every day at 5; it's taped M-TH at 3 or 3:30; two shows are taped on Thursday, with the second taping starting at 5 PM. Lately, they have been taping two shows a day more often than normal, and my (speculative) guess is that this is due to the holidays.
true, i was in the studio audience for this taping. it was 2 days before thanksgiving i believe, and we were all a bit confused on how to react when he started talking about thanksgiving in the past-tense. also you hear his guest slip up and say "i will be in- i mean i was in the macys day parade..."
There was actually the program for the taping of the shows at the CBS LLS website. I don't know if they still have it, but I think it could tell us when the shows were taped.
I think, they taped three shows on Wednesday. (In normal weeks they tape two shows on Thursday.. That's why there's always a refence to "Friday tie", "this show is live" etc. on Friday shows..
Maybe it´s just me, but why is neither Craig nor Letterman making any comment to what happened in india recently. To me it seems very ignorant and disrespectful.
Just you he is a Late night comedian, he keeps the tone respectful on 9/11 but you cant expect him to highlight every terrorist attack, this isnt the newsand why highlight terrorism? Could be seen as unethical and it would be a completely sombre thing to mention at this festive period. Also, if Craigs boss Letterman didnt mention it and Craig did, that would make Letterman look badand you dont wanna do that!
Very ignorant and disrespectful would be to make fun of it.
I get your point, but in my opinion that was not a "every terrorist attack"...but a new dimension of terror, and a kind of 9/11 for india - the chaos lasts three days. And here in Germany was a lot of report and news about it and they wouldn´t have paid so much attention, if it was "just" a car bomb or something. It seems still weird to me to say not one word about it, and start with "a great day for america," no matter if there is a festive period or not.
agreed. the format of the show is to be relatively non-confrontational and culturally homogenous (craig's scottishness probably spices it up enough) you can take a pinch of this and a dash of that for humorous justoposition and irony, but too much would change the format from comedy to a political debate forum.
it's a tantalizing idea - one of my fav episodes features, oh whatshisname, who did "religilous."
it was funny, fast paced, with a bit of refreshing substance... ->
...you know, craig would be really good at one of those shows. bring some levity and humanity to the issues making the more pedantic windbags at least more bearable, and therefore the issues more engaging to the rest of us. 0{o[o}0 (-)
I don´t want a political debate and I don´t want craig to analyse the situation,....that´s not the format and not his business, but I expected a moment where he shows, that he cares, when something huge like this is going on...
agreed - that's not the format of the show. i was just looking at other possibilities - since he keeps threatening to go to cable - which is funn!! LOL! no argument here!
bravely taking to my feet to beat a very brave retreat...
300 something people dying isn't really subject you should joke about. Sure mention might be ok, but how do you incorporate it into stand-up comedy gig. I think mentioning India in funny way would actually be disrespectful.
He decided not to joke about Britney Spears crisis or his fathers death and found a way to deal with it nevertheless, that´s so great about him....I don´t understand the reaction of the studio audience neither...there are so many foreign people working in Mumbai and all the tourists..
Maybe the show was taped one week earlier, that would explain the joke at the beginning...
i'm sure it was taped a week ealier, because craig always makes the same joke about how the show is actually taped during night time, when its taped in the morning.
i applaud every show which refuses to make a big deal out of the attacks, you dont ask for that when american airstrikes kill some brown people.., but i doubt that craig will miss the opportunity for some fuzzy hypocrit americana suck-up
Heh, Wikipedia is actually quite reliable according to most studies, which really surprises me. Of course it's better than Fox news, but who couldn't figure that out? ^_^
the serial killing talk show host would be a great dark comedy idea, but i think it was already done with the serial killing game show host, which was actually an enjoyable dark comedy. :)

i tried to make a monkey in on of my responses on this thread, but (-) part of it didn't appear where it was supposed to, so no monkey for me. well it was really for craig. sigh. more eyelash batting.
thank you for introducing me to the hilarity that is karl.
You'll find that Karl has the unique ability to simultaneously be both a genius and a moron. A very peculiar mind and he's part of the Ricky gervais podcast which is all over youtube.

It's hard to stay up.
It's been a long, long day
And you got the Sandman at your door.
Well hang on, leave your TV on, and let's do it anyway.
It's okay, you can always sleep through work tomorrow.
Hey. Hey, hey, tomorrow's just your future yesterday.
